This may be an unpopular opinion but— They are cute… like High School Musical cute. 🥲 Their scenes were sweet, but kind of skippable. You could fast-forward and miss zero plot. It gave more “checkbox romance” than actual chemistry.

Aww. Y'all missed Maggie telling Enid about how she ran over a boy's Camaro with a tractor back in high school lol. It was always the first thing that would pop in my mind y'all used to call Maggie "crazy" in season 2 with her emotional whiplashes when she started messing with a very confused Glenn lol. It's funny thinking about how that relationship started so messy to the point y'all had to add them to the sex/nude blocker and it turned into this beautifully, epic, post-apocalyptic, young, tragic love story...

You have to remember that Carl grew up seeing his dad not take no as an answer or be afraid. If they deny him they eventually died. Shane(the man his father saw as a brother and him an uncle), The governor (at cost), the claimers, terminus group, dawn, even Pete, Deanna (unintentionally) and a horde of walkers including 2 Negan outposts after that. Carl was raised in the apocalypse knowing nothing more than “you hurt me or say no to me and we are gonna win no matter how the get back happens.” So he believes that since his father can’t that it’s his time to step up and do what his father did and defeat their problems for the best of the people. Negan was the first one who took the time to actually mentally break Rick and it only took the night.

Here's the thing, if you kill Negan in front of his men, anyone can rile them up to go into battle and kill everyone. They're used to walking over other camps so nobody is gonna be scared enough to run, even if Negan is killed. The play is... kill Negan at home. Given time, none of the secondary leaders can lead the saviors. it'll fall apart eventually.

I about passed out when I saw little Carl in the back of the Saviors truck. Negan's behavioral clones are very irritating. Simon is the worst. Trying to imitate Negan yet failing abysmally. Gregory is vile and disgusting. I stand corrected that would be Negan. Gregory is a waste of good skin. Cowardly and a waste of space.

In case you didn't catch what happened last episode, Father Gabriel pretended Maggie had died, and had dug a grave just before Negan arrived (that's why we saw him rubbing dirt on his pants). He thought fast to protect Maggie's whereabouts. Thats why Negan went on about wanting to have brought Maggie back with him, thankfully she's safe at Hilltop. Also Osafa, you're wrong, that wasn't Aaron it was his boyfriend Eric and all he asked was what the plan was to beat Negan. 😭

Why Osafa mad at Aaron? Aaron is one of us. He's never done anything bad to us since we've met him. Gregory is a snake. And Simon is worst than Negan, did you'll peep that look in his eyes while talking to Gregory? He wants that Negan power. Yayy to Sasha Paul and Maggie for saving Hilltop while Gregory stayed hidden in his room. What a coward.

The way Rick leaned into that kiss let’s me knows when he and Lori argue and he’s leaving she lets him while still being angry with him, it’s a wonder he’s able to keep his mind on work knowing he’s going back home to an angry wife, Michonne pulling his face forward to kiss him on the lips let’s him know I’m mad but I’m still with you no matter what, hence his “thank you” bcuz now his mind is at peace and he can concentrate on what he needs to do. I absolutely love that kiss.

This is also the first time in the series that Glenn's last name is mentioned. * This also makes Glenn and Maggie's marriage the first to take place after the apocalypse which results in one partner taking the other's surname. * This episode marks the return of the Hilltop Colony and its people after being absent for nine episodes, having last being seen in S6EP11 "Knots Untie". * This episode marks the return of Paul "Jesus" Rovia who has been absent for eight episodes, having last being seen in S6EP12 "Not Tomorrow Yet". * It also marks the return of Maggie, who had been absent since the season premiere. * This episode and S7EP6 "Swear" mark the halfway point in the 177 episode run of the TV Series. * The song featured in the episode is "Finlandia" by Jean Sibelius. * Gregory mispronounced Maggie's name as "Marsha". But Sonequa had fought through her illness so the shoot wouldn't have to be rescheduled.
