Austin Hogan

My personal favorite episode

KING Guyton

Would love to see walter white and Eugene interact and debate with each other. It would've been funny ash 😂

Jay

I need to see Eugene vs Walter White in some sort of science fair competition 😂

Jay

You beat me to it 😂

Ash Lee Can

I mean, like a Negan basically asked Eugene if Rick ever really utilized Eugene's genius, and Eugene's non-answer basically told Negan everything he needed to know. No, Rick never really used Eugene's smarts or seemed to see it as thr big assest that it truly is. In fact, Eugene is probably considered low tier in Alexandria, even against some of the "native" Alexandrians. Gabriel is more respected than Eugene. The only real friend he probably has there is Tara. Abraham was murdered right in front of him. Rosita just absolutely dogged and bullied the mess out of him so bad to basically guilt to make her an ill-advised bullet that literally led up to him getting snatched and put in the position he's in under tge watchful eye of the enemy. He even stepped up and admitted that he was the one who made the bullet at the high risk of losing his own life so no one else's theirs(which he literally warned her that which was Olivia & Eugene). Only to end up here getting praised and appreciated for his gifts and we what he can truly offer to make their lives better. Something our group never really truly did, if we're being real about it(Granted, some of that, but I feel like Eugene was partially right when he felt like that the only reason people would care and help him for as long as they did was because they thought of him as having value to something bigger, hence the lie). Negan, tge man hinself is putting this man on a pedestal, proba ky in a way he's never received before, even probably BEFORE the apcocalypse. The man got some fresh pickles. Eugene's about to be out here singing, 🎵Feeling really unappreciated. Taking my love for granted, baby🎵 😆😭...

Keke

2:46 Ofnegan, for my Handmaid’s Tale watchers.

Avishai

I love Eugene. And for the record, I called it as soon as I saw this episode.

Keke

Eugene definitely doesn’t know how to engage with women he finds attractive without coming off a little too strong. He’s very intelligent, which I find to be an attractive attribute of his character and men in general. Prior to the apocalypse, he probably was an outcast for this exact reason, so he never was able to experience healthy romantic interactions with women 🤔.

Korivex

Sherry didn't PUT Dwight in this situation. She didn't know he would work for Negan like this... the deal was that he could LIVE. But now that she sees how it turned out she is blaming herself. She left because she let Daryl out... she let Daryl out so Dwight could go on being a 'Negan' without guilt or conscious believing there is no turning back for him now that he has killed someone... there is nothing selfish or cowardly about what Sherry did, before or after. They were BOTH doing what they believed they had to do to keep each other safe. They sacrificed for each other.

Athasin

Been waiting to see them react to Eugene's neganfication.

Korivex

Dwight wasn't expecting Negan to kill the doctor. Didn't you see the look on his face when that happened? I think Negan was actually going to let the doctor go... until he looked up at Eugene.... he didn't want Eugene to see him being forgiving... I think he decided to kill the doctor in that moment to add a bit of extra fear into Eugene. It worked too... it was because of that he didn't give those pills to the girls.

Andrew R

I'm surprised you took Sherry leaving as cowardness or selfishness. I always saw it as she was removing herself so Negan had less leverage on Dwight giving him the freedom to change without Negan being able to threaten him with Sherry's life.

Call Me When It Burns 🎀

Right. Why would I actively choose to stay in a place that's harmful to me? And Dwight. He's a grown man and can get himself out if he TRULY wanted to; Dwight likes power.

Queen S

I agree with your comment

Queen S

Hi Addison, Brandon and Osafa, Osafa I'm really glad you joined the group as for this episode I'm really not mad at Eugene right now for what he's doing he wants to stay alive for what I am disappointed in him is after he told that lie to Abraham and everybody else our group still accepted him and kept him safe kept him fed Rick probably didn't use a lot of Eugene's talents but he became a part of our group and Dwight lieing on the doctor so Negan wouldn't go after Sherry I got mixed feelings about Dwight I hate what he did to Daryl but I think he just wanted to survive too.

Ashleigh

Selfish and weird is a correct assessment of Sherry

Eric

Don’t lose faith in Eugene!

Serenity La’sandra

Nah I just be thinking… how do you properly clean blood off your bat? And do u replace the barb wire every time after you use it?

Rindamarie

"don't dwight [sic] dat mug"...LOL. man, "don't dwight that pickle" is a quote. Eugene is surviving the best way he knows how.

Constantdev

Someone else said it and I agree- don't totally hate Eugene yet!

Nicky A

Its okay to say "virgin". We're not in preschool Osafa.

Cnz43

ANOTHA DAY ANOTHA EPISODE! VOTD Romans 10:9 - If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. GOD (JESUS) BLESS

ERIK

Maggie's up there, too. She's lost everybody from her blood family and then Glenn

Jen M

“That cap that put you in a coma!” 😂😂😂

KING Guyton

Maggie lost her farm, dad, sister, step brother, step mom, husband, and now has to raise her child without Glenn. Not to mention the governor situation. She was present for hershel's and Glenn's death. She's been through the most out of anyone in the show

Jacena

lmaoo at “he was a fairy”

Digital Alikin

Eugene actor legally had his name changed to Negan after this ep

Digital Alikin

She was so much worse in the comics they toned her down a lot here 😂

Ashleigh

I truly cannot imagine

Monica

Agreed, we just saw a few weeks ago. There's was a chance she could be pregnant with his baby. Dwight doesn't have to sleep with Negan or even being around him unless ordered to.

KenyBeans

That’s what I saw. She married negan to keep him alive. She was r-worded (Lord knows how many times). She knew Dwight couldn’t save himself because of her. She had mad sacrifices. And they called her a coward. Disappointed but i know men in real life who feel like, if my partner was R-worded, I would have preferred she fought and died vs come home to me. It’s horrible.

Crazy Taco

Man adison must be psychic

EliG

Sherry did Dwight a favor - her leaving means D has nothing left to lose. And someone with nothing left to lose is free. He is free to be stone-cold Negan or anti Negan.

EliG

While I mostly agree, I believe Sherry convinced D to go back to the Saviors after their encounter with Darryl. So, in some ways, she did put D in the situation.

EliG

Interested in why.

Austin Hogan

For a number of reasons, it wasn’t in the comics reason number two play to character strengths is what is represented most

Camillionaire

Eugene folded like a folding chair with Negan. He was like "You had me at Negan" 🤣😂 I can't with him. But on a serious note, I low-key felt super betrayed by his acquiescence to whole Negan camp side switch. I am going to need Eugene to show some kind of loyalty. Put some "Respec" on Rick Grimes name.

Camillionaire

Eugene weird awkwardness aside ... Eugene's nerd game is strong! His Eugene speak takes me out everytime, lol.

Korivex

Yes, that could be true.

Camillionaire

Dem pickles too green for me 🤣😂

Camillionaire

Sure, I don't have to be scared anymore. But why are you holding Lucille then?

Camillionaire

Eugene is Zombie apocalypse status has been elevated to MBA player first round draft pick like Addie said.

Cleo Griffith

R.I.P. Dr Carson. Eugene have moved on up. He can now go and take anything he wants from the lower ward. And he don't have Rick or anyone to tell him he can't.

Mackendie

You guys predicted it Eugene going to say it so fast I am negan with no hesitation he just need a formal introduction in fact he was Negan all the time lol 😂🤣😂🤣 can't wait to finish this reaction

SDSavvy

Dwight doesn’t deserve a happy ending. He’s been doing cruel crap he didn’t need to do even when Negan would never see it. Sherry agreed to be Negan’s wife to save Dwight, but the Dwight she wanted to save died anyway. She saw old Dwight in Darryl. She took steps to save Darryl since she couldn’t save Dwight. And she did it knowing she wouldn’t survive. And maybe she ended up saving a piece of Dwight after all. That Dr. was a sleezebag.

* The title of the episode, "Hostiles and Calamities", comes from Eugene explaining that pouring molten metal on the heads of the defense walkers outside the Sanctuary would protect them against head trauma from hostiles and calamities. * The episode's exact runtime is 00:49:02. * This episode takes place between the events of S7EP8 "Hearts Still Beating" and S7EP9 "Rock in the Road". * This episode reveals that Sherry was the one who freed Daryl in S7EP8 "Hearts Still Beating". * Eugene's lie about being apart of the Human Genome Project and knowing T. Brooks Ellis from S5EP1 "No Sanctuary" and S5EP5 "Self Help" is used again in this episode. * The song that is played during Eugene making the toxic pills is called "Everything Right Is Wrong Again" by They Might Be Giants. * This is the first episode of the show to not feature a single walker kill or death. * According to Talking Dead, the TV screen in the scenes where Eugene plays video games is pre-recorded. Josh McDermitt only needed to move his hand to sync with what was on the screen. * Eugene told Frankie: "Pump your brakes, Red". He said the exact same words to Abraham in S6EP14 "Twice as Far". * The game Eugene plays is Atari's Yar's Revenge (1982). * This is the third episode not to feature anyone from the Atlanta Camp, the first two being S4EP6 "Live Bait" and S7EP6 "Swear". * This is also the first of these episodes not to feature Tara.

Austin

* In S7EP8 "Hearts Still Beating", Fat Joey's corpse could be seen facing the motorbikes. But in this episode, he seems to be facing in the opposite direction, with no motorbikes to be seen anywhere.

Jamie Lashley

I wana see your reaction to there reaction

Jamie Lashley

Massages gaming friends pickles 5 star bed and dine u cant blame him lol

shemeka_blackscorpion

Eugene is really feeling himself being on negan side... Eugene is a perfect example as to how all them guys that are "leaders" in negans group end up being pricks like negan... he feels more powerful being on negan side mainly because he felt not needed when he was with Rick nem... negan excepting Eugene and using him for his knowledge is a perfect reason for Eugene to wanna stay with the saviors not knowing one little slip up, he'll be thrown in that fire like the doctor... at least with Rick nem he didn't have to be perfect or die

Jordan Kiryakoza

Walter white was the same goat manipulative villain. Yet people love Negan and hate Walt. It's hilarious to me...
