Writers completely bamboozled Chandler Riggs. They didn't want to pay him the money as an adult. People said that they left TWD after Glenn's death, but this actually pissed me off. Glenn had to die even based on comics. But Carl had to go on way after Rick 😒

This episode was the mid-season break, so we had to wait 2 months for episode 9 and let me just tell you, I was depressed!!! I really enjoy the last three seasons after this, but this moment definitely ruined a lot for the show for me

The worst part about the whole thing is how dirty they did Chandler Riggs(Carl). Not only was doing this being the worst decision the shows made, but they did the actor, who had just graduated high school and turned 18. Scott Gimple almost got a whole diss track out of me called, "Simple Gimple" over this too lol. I don't think I've watched this since it aired(I'm debating whether or not I should watch the reaction). Actually, I do think I've watched this SEASON since it aired. That ending was the first time I actually cried in my own reaction video...

Riggs' father was very outspoken! They did Chandler so wrong. I remember wishing he would go on to play Han Solo as they were in development over the Solo movie around this time. I still want to shank Scott Gimple over Carl! I remember book readers thinking Carl would be the last man standing, and the story was him retelling it from old age.

Adison has to be confused but it was only Daryl and Tara who was reckless. Not Rosita. Her time for crashing out was last season and she learned that lesson about vengeance and that’s been clear multiple times now. When the group was hiding in the sewer and Michonne left them, you can’t say “yall do your foolishness” to Rosita and justify Michonne doing what she’s gonna do bc that really defeats your whole argument. In that moment Rosita was following orders, as she’s been all of season 8 mind you, and Michonne was the one not following the plan. Point being that automatically lumping Rosita in with Daryl and Tara’s actions this season is beyond unreasonable.

Daryl and Tara aren’t to blame for the saviors getting out. Should they have let the walkers in without fully knowing where the workers and the kids were at? No. But Eugene building them bullets was gonna happen either way. He was literally brought to the sanctuary because he made a bullet from scratch. Negan would’ve remembered that at some point. Not to mention Eugene was already trying to find ways to get the walkers away. Negan’s a good talker but he’s also a hypocrite. It’s like Brandon said before you can’t actually care about your people if you’re putting them in situations like this. The saviors got into this situation because of their own doing. It just took messing with the right group to show them they aren’t invincible

Yeah apparently Carl's death from what I just read was not by choice. The actor for him Chandler Riggs and his family was blindsided by the sudden decision. "Riggs had been making long-term plans for college and had just bought a house near the filming location, believing he had a future on the show, which made the news of his character's death particularly difficult. " (From when I googled why he was written off the show.)

Wrong, they killed him off because Chandler became an adult and the studio didn't want to give him full adult payment, so they killed him off. He doesn't die in the comics and actually makes it to the end. A lot of people quit the show after finding that out.

you forgot to mention the main reason they killed him off, and that is that they refused to give Chandler an adult pay after he turned 18. Mind you that the show was already in top 5 shows ever, and was making hundreds of millions of dollars. A lot of people quit the show after finding out the reason they killed him off, as he never dies in the comics and makes it to the very end.

Mind you, in the comics Carl doesn't die (neither does Sophia) so this hit EVERYBODY way worse than Sophia in the barn. And it solidified for comic book readers that the show was just different and anyone could get it.

Poor Rosita catching strays this episode when she didn't even participate in Daryl and Tara plan. 😭 She actually left before even Michonne did. She was even only there in the first place, because she did not want Michonne to go check out the Sanctuary by herself since she was still recovering. It was all Daryl, Tara and Morgan who did that truck thing.

Watching this back, Daryl is like the true two sided GOAT of the show. He's the most clutch in terms of making good things and bad things happen lmaooo. This is why Rick and Michonne are my number one and two. Daryl could never be one or two because of this. But i still can't really deny him number three.

I was just listening rant and rave and yelling Adison waiting for him to say something anything but he so upset he dont have the words. I totally feel you all. That was most of the fandom when this episode aired. Having to watch Michonne and Rick lose their son and for Michonne losing another child. But Carl did his thing tho, he played Negan for a fool. The boys mood in this episode started out so uplifting. Them joking that Carl was going to get a whooping. 🤣😂 It took them totally off guard. Usually their Negro Spidey senses be tingling. 😂😩 I had been dreading this episode. I learned about Carl's death soon after I stopped watching TWD after Glenn's gruesomely horrific death. It seemed to further justify my decision to quit TWD. I didn't know how hard they were going to take it when I crashed out 2 weeks prior after watching it for the first time. It is was a total lame Walker death. This stunk of poor writing choices from the writers. Then learning how dirty they did Chandler Riggs killing him off after promising him longevity on the show because he wanted to purchase a house. I felt every bit of Adison's shocked silence. Ad was stewing it. 🫂 Brandon's crash out spoke to my soul. When the sports metaphors start to fly, it done got real. 😂 That rant was fire. I was here for it. Brandon straight need a slap circle. 😂 I digress, I hadn't been able to continue to proceed watching anymore episodes until now. I hurt so bad. Our babyboy didn't deserve this death. 😭 It was really like Beth's death all over again ... which was the beginning of sorrows to come. Then we were left with a new character no one asked for like with Everybody hates Chris. Then he died what 3-4 episodes later. Smh ...

When I watched this for the first time. i wasn't mad about this death or the writer's killing him off... I wasn't a fan of Carl, and they didn't really make him a main focus when you think about the show in totality. As time goes on, and i've rewatched or watched a reaction. I've started to get sad over time but still not a fan.
