Originally 12 seasons were planned. This season was going to end with Episode 16. But everything changed when covid hit. Ep 15 was the last to air normally. The finale was pushed back 6 months since post production couldn’t be done in time bc of the shutdowns. It messed their plan for the franchise in the long run and 6 “special” episodes were added to this season with more self contained stories. And 8 additional episodes were added to Season 11 roughly giving us an extra seasons worth of episodes overall.

I agree, it does suck in a sense that Ezekial was left on the back burner but I think people forget that Daryl and Carol have been together since the very beginning of the outbreak. Daryl was there for Carol when she lost almost everything in her life, including herself a few times. Same goes for Carol taking care of Daryl. They both had upbringings of being abused just in a different aspect, so I think that they really bonded over that and looked out for one another. I also just think that especially after losing Henry it really drifted Carol away permanently from Ezekial not becuase she didnt love him but because it would've hurt her to much to be reminded of it if she stayed in the relationship. I know it aint healthy to just do that over losses in life, but Carol has always done that, even tried leaving the group a few times due to loss. Its a bad coping mechanism she has picked up, unfortunately.

If you search on YouTube, you can see the table read for quite a bit of this episode and it's quite interesting, And funny at times to see people like the character of Alden stepping in and doing the voice of RJ when they are talking about the brave man, but the scene with Daryl and Carol and Ezekiel, in the script it's just really awkward between Carol and Ezekiel and she tries to be friendly but really just can't, They reckon most marriages don't survive after losing a child

I don’t think Aloha was able to infiltrate them because they were too big, she was able to do it because Alexandria was separated from everyone else. Remember, Alpha said she was from Alexandria. I think Ezekiel just thought they never met before. I don’t know that’s my take on it.

I'm catching up on your episodes, but just wanted to say that the leader of Oceanside (who said she wanted to kill Tara when they first met) is the young girl from earlier seasons...who Tara used to swear at. She was the one who first found her washed up.

I’m not sure if you guys know or not because I just started this season with you all, but the reason that the last two seasons have so many episodes is because Covid happen and when they shut down production, they had to play catch-up.
