Voodoo is not inherently demonic it’s actually a religion that ties back in west Africa but you know western religion( Christianity ) mainly from white people demonized it because it’s something they don’t understand BUT it all depends on how the person practices it.

I don’t feel bad for Caroline in the slightest. She only had about 5 chances to use some common sense and she would still have all her years left rn. She could’ve just not snooped in somebody’s house. & if she truly felt like she HAD to and stumbled upon a freaking hoodoo room, she could’ve just not touched ANYTHING. I mean me personally I wouldn’t touch a THING, ok? OR she could’ve listened to the warning from the previous nurse. I mean it was pretty stern, I wouldn’t have even gone back for my things. I mean at the bare minimum if she got caught up and had to escape and got SHOT AT otw out, she probably should’ve went straight to the police instead of directly to the shooter’s lawyer. And if I found a random spell, I know for a fact I wouldn’t try to perform it… especially against the people who wrote it. I mean she pretty much offered her last years to them on a silver platter with a pitcher of iced tea. I say more power to them! #TeamJustify&Cecile 🤷🏾‍♀️ I do feel bad for the original kids who ended up being collateral damage. I mean I’m sure they would’ve grown up to be terrible, horrible people, but they were innocent at the time. And it had to be so confusing for them to be coloring by candlelight one minute and getting hung by their parents the next

Christianity was in African before it was in Europe. The first Bible was in Ethiopia. We are taught as Christian’s not to worship or idolize that’s not of God. If it’s a religion obviously Christian’s ain’t fina practice another religion. lol I do agree that voodoo is often misunderstood and sensationalized.

It shouldn't matter how a person practices it. The whole concept around calling this stuff "demonic" is anti-black at its core which makes it really sad when black folks walk around repeating that stuff. I knew EDN would say some weird stuff over this movie as it relates to that. The same happened with their Sinners video. The Black church/black Christians have always struggled with this and always fail to decolonize their own faith practices. There's nothing demonic AT ALL with African spirituality (i.e. voodoo, Santeria, etc). Unfortunately Hollywood has always put their own evil spin on it by making it seem like demon worship which, as you pointed out, can be traced back to slavery and colonialism when white people stripped away African faith traditions and forced white Jesus and Christianity on them for 246 years in the United States (not to mention elsewhere across the African diaspora). In 2025 we should always push back against anyone, black or otherwise, calling our ancestors "demonic" or labeling their faith traditions as demonic. I definitely don't tolerate any of that and take offense every time I hear it.

Wait to be clear I agree with you on that I’m not the one saying it’s demonic at all and me saying it’s all how you practice it because I do have an old family member that practices it in very nefarious intent but I don’t want to get into all that, I’m just pointing out how black churches and obviously they’re very Christian to have an open mindset on certain things that they are not accustomed to especially when it originates to their ancestral background.

Just did a re watch of a few Game of Thrones episodes some bangers like Joffery getting it, battle of black water bay etc i know yall got alot of plates spinning rn but a re watch of GoT With the sweet summer child Osafa would be dope at some point in the future be cool to see his reaction to em and you always notice and pick up on things you missed on the 2nd go around

FACTS. She had so many outs, it's crazy. I did feel really bad for the children, even though they likely would have turned out similar to their family, but you never know and they were innocent at the time. Sick that the parents didn't know they ended up offing their own. I also always hope that Caroline's friend somehow made it out every time I watch this.

Yeah me too! The way Justify and Cecile both looked at her was very predatory in the ending scene but I can’t imagine her being gullible enough to get caught up in all of that. If anything it would be a cool sequel to see Jill and her auntie trying to prove that something happened to Caroline in that house.

Hospice workers are angels. My husband, grandfather and grandmomma where all on hospice and wouldn't have made it thru without them. Lived in Louisiana for first 50 years of my life (just moved to North Carolina 2 years ago) and voodoo is practiced all over southern regions. But fortunately way more Christians!

This is not true, and believe it or not voodoo aka Hoodoo is apart of Christianity just like Santa Maria is part of Christianity. Voodoo/ hoodoo is practiced by the Haitian community, and white peoples try to sensor it as being bad, and unchristian like. All because in the Haitian community Christianity is practiced differently than, how basic Americans practices Christianity. I know this because I have a Masters degree in religious studies.

I grew up around it and I am also catholic and yes all of it is part of Christianity!!! The problem is that individuals take some so great like religion, and they use it for wrong, just like they do everything else!!!! For instance, fentanyl is anesthesia, that’s use, bypass, amputations. Some horrible human being decided to take fentanyl and put it on the streets and sell it as a street drug. Just like voodoo/hoodoo they took something good and made it bad for other human beings!!!!

My husband was on fentanyl patches for years. Messed up his back in army but he functioned. It can be used for that too, legally

In all honesty it sucks really bad that it has been used and abused so much that it makes it harder for people who need it to get it and that's all pain meds. But I feel bad for drug addicts. Its a disease even though it's a choice. Very sad
