I maintain that Catelyn letting Jaime go made PERFECT sense. If she didn't let him go what would've happened? Robb would've come back, Karstark would've demanded Jaime be killed to make up for his son's death. If Robb said yes and beheaded Jaime then it's over for Sansa either Cersei would've killed her or made her Joffrey's sex slave, (but Catelyn most likely assumed Arya would've been murdered in retaliation since from her pov Arya was being held in a dungeon somewhere since they heard nothing about her and she knows how rowdy Arya is), and if Robb told Karstark no, he's not beheading Jaime, either Karstark would've killed Jaime anyway or he and all his men would've abandoned Robb. SPOILER ALERT: Basically if Catelyn hadn't released Jaime then season 3's ending would've happened a whole season sooner. Because we already know that if Robb says no, Karstark kills the Lannister boys anyway, and we know what happens when Karstark's men abandons Robb. IMO, Catleyn releasing Jaime kept them alive for one season longer. As a re-watcher, it becomes clear that Robb was doomed the moment he put that Lannister cousin in that pen with Jaime all because some of his men were upset that a messenger of war was not being treated like a prisoner of war. So we are past the point where Robb fumbles everything.

“he’s LYING 🫵🏽😤” LMAO

kingBD

Need someone to clip that part and zoom in and make it a gif😂

kingBD

From that list you gave i would go Brienne but if i could pick my own it might be Bronn. Honestly it might depend where i grew up 😂 if im in the north definitely give me Brienne but if im in kings landing give me Bronn.

Sam

Charlotte Drolet

Never thought about it that way. You have made some valid points.

Violet

You really picked a great group for this rewatch!! They are really paying attention to the show, the commentary is not just entertaining but insightful, now that I can actually hear the show, it's even better! Can't wait for season 4 and on!

Cleo Griffith

I like Bron as my hand. he's very loyal. The prince of winterfell is Brandon. I like how the 4 of them left and double back to go home bcuz they know all the hidden places. the old dude played his part real well when he saw the bodies of the kids and started crying.

jasmin

lol everybody in the room tryna read adison face

Ciarah C

I can’t wait for them to get to the red wedding + see how Arya grows. I love their reactions lol

wilcox2146

I love Von in these reactions. My man would die for his lil bros, Dany, and most of all… the shieldmaiden Lagertha 😂

Nikki Nik

That's if Arya grows with all this killing this show produce. I might have to go google it like Von 🫣

Tyrademi

It’s not the first thread Von has made against y’all 🤣 He threatened to keep watching the show by himself a couple of episodes back. Von is funny fr 😭

Mc Lizzard

YES! Finally I’m not the only person saying this. PLUS! Remember what happened when Cat took Tyrion prisoner? Her homeland, the Riverlands, was decimated. On Tywin Lannister’s orders, the Mountain burned, graped, and pillaged the Riverlands from one end to the other. All over Tyrion - the son Tywin can’t stand. What do you think would happen when Tywin found out Karstark killed Jamie. Cat setting Jamie free saved thousands of lives.

Mc Lizzard

Jamie absolutely did not almost lose to Ned. That is a wild take. Ned was winded, Jamie was like a cat playing with its food. Hating Jamie is easy, but don’t let it make you blind.

Kesha

He really is

Kesha

Oh yeah I wonder why he stop watching Vikings with them

Kesha

😅😅

MabelandMargaret

don't spoil anything for yourself. the show is great because the story builds.

Ellis McPickle

You gotta pause more while the crew is getting their takes off

Jesse

Yep, I think a couple of the things she gets blamed for are actually pretty justifiable. She should have explained it better though because she was really put in an incredibly difficult position. If Jaime had died that night then it would have been for nothing but at least the potential to trade him for her daughters would have meant using some measure of leverage before it was lost. The fact Rob wasn't there to deal with that situation was probably on him, being distracted by Talisa. She also gets a lot of criticism for taking Tyrion but I'm not sure there were that many better choices to make in that situation. Tyrion recognized her and with that knowledge could go any number of directions with it. Also she was only traveling with their Man at Arms. She was also duped by Littlefinger because he lied about the dagger, but the actor and the show doesn't do a great job with that character. Everyone gets duped by Littlefinger it's not supposed to be so obvious that he's devious, it's not, in the books. She also gives Robb great advise to not trust the Greyjoys and Robb's misplay there was a huge blow to them.

Khay'n Xafir

Maester Lewin’s cry was genuine because he indeed thought those were the boys at first. He later checks the bodies when he became suspicious that the boys survived.

Kayla Jean

“HE LYING 🫵🏼” i love von fr 😭

Targary

why do men think women are the only ones who get emotional lol

Jess Here

Theon was a prisoner. He couldn't leave or go home. He wasn't treated badly but he was never made to feel like he belonged by anyone but Robb. Even Jon was above him in the eyes of everyone in Winterfell. Catilyn hated him and Ned kept him at a distance because one day he might have to kill him to punish his (Theon) father. The show really simplifies it but Ned would have chopped Theon's head off without a second thought if it was his duty to do so. And Theon always knew that. Even Maester Aemond refers to his prisoner status when Theon is in the rookery with Osha. Theon says something about Osha not being a guest but a prisoner and Aemond asks him if the two are mutually exclusive from his experience.

Jess Here

I hated that they changed the Halfhand and Jon storyline. In the books Halfhand intentionally leaves Jon to find out what Jon does. If he kills her or not. There's no right or wrong choice. It's just Halfhand's way of getting to know the type of man Jon is without applying a good or bad label to him. Jon doesn't get everyone killed in the books. It ends the same, the build up to it is just different.

Jess Here

39:56 she got the lion necklace back when Tyrion stayed the night in the brothel instead of Winterfell on the way back from the wall. Theon and her discuss it while they are together. It's during the scene where she tells him (Theon) if he wants it for free then he needs to get a wife.

meer.omerta

the maester that made the book tyrion is reading is also the arthur of the game of thrones books he made his own character and he is supposed to be telling the story of the game of thrones universe

Sylvia Garcia
