So, depending on the tourney your lots can be different. This particular tourney has 7 champions(one for each god) and during the tourney any knight can challenge any of the champions for their position. He's trying to get Duncan to challenge the son, so they can rig it.

They need Dunk to challenge the correct knight to take the fall. Dunk could have challenged another knight in the tourney. Egg was screaming, "Kill him," during the tourney. He wants his brother put down.

Just to clarify - Baelor is the prince who is in line to the throne. He was kind to Dunk and remembered his former lord, Ser Arlan of Pennytree. He has darker hair. He has his own sons, and one of them (Vallar) previously jousted. Maekar is his brother who kept cussing and who was missing two of his sons. He is Egg's father. He has four sons and two daughters - they've listed off the other sons. Daeron (drunk), Aerion (cruel one we keep seeing), Aemon who is training to be a maester and ....the youngest (now we know that's Egg, short for Aegon). Egg isn't training to be a maester. Aemon is. Do y'all remember Maester Aemon?

my understanding is they scaled up the puppets for the tv show, so it loses some impact of the loss of a finger for her career.

Egg knew better than to try to command the guards to stop his older brother. They'd be laying a hand on the ( older ) prince and would also find themselves punished like Dunk was going to be. It was much easier to command them not to hurt Dunk. There are always levels of power at play, and while the knights and white cloaks hate/don't respect Aerion, he is of higher rank than Egg and they would not risk it.

So Adison, you absolutely clocked Aerion’s nonsense. I can’t say much without spoilers but he did say ‘The dragon ought never lose’ so he was angry at the depiction of the symbol of his house and family being sullied/slandered. Problem is, the play that Tanselle and co were performing is actually a very popular story, and an old one that dates back to before the Targaryens even landed on the shores of Westeros. The story being performed in the play pre-dates the Targs. So while in a way Aerion’s ire is somewhat understandable not only was it not a slight towards the Targaryens, but he took it waaaaay too far. Just because his POV can be understood does not mean it’s justified and in the case of the puppeteer show and his response, it wasn’t.

I mean, they kinda talk through EVERYTHING. They are so funny and entertaining, but if you take a show or movie SERIOUSLY, this isn't the reaction channel to watch it on.

One of Maekar's sons that's going to be a Maester isn't Egg. It's Egg's older brother Aemon, who you guys have seen in Game of Thrones at the Night's Watch. So, that you guys know who is who: Prince Baelor is the heir and his son is Valarr(They have black hair). Baelor has 3 younger brothers, Aerys and Rhaegel, who you won't meet in this show, but were mentioned. Baelor's youngest brother is Prince Maekar. Maekar's sons are Daeron(The drunk guy in the tavern in episode 1), Aerion(The one that attacked Dunk's girl), Aemon(who is in game of thrones as an old blind man), and Aegon/"Egg" who will end up being the great-grandfather to Robert, Stannis, and Renly Baratheon as well as Rhaegar, Viserys, and Dany, and of course Great-great-grandfather to another character in Game of Thrones that i wont spoil for Osafa lol

Yes, I said that. Not that it was justified. As for you disagreeing with the understandable part, you aren’t wrong in thinking Aerion is insane. He is. Just, not insane as in stupid. He still has enough wits to play act as he needs to get his way and stay clear of any serious consequences his actions should be bringing in him and in the case of what happened with Tanselle and her group —- I can’t go getting into spoilers but he’s not going to go trying to justify it with anything that doesn’t make any sense. His reasoning may be a farce but if you’ve seen the show you know what he says and within the context of the narrative and the time period and how much house symbols mean to families—- I don’t think you can really claim it’s not understandable. It just means even if his reasoning can be understood it doesn’t make what he did right or justified, because it wasn’t. Especially since the reason he gives for his actions doesn’t hold up as Tanselle & co weren’t guilty of the ‘intent’ he tries to spin out of the incident. All this to say, it’s fine you don’t agree, but if Aerion’s actions had only been viewed as insane or the reasons he gave for them just sounded like he was losing it—- the events that follow this episode wouldn’t have happened in all likelihood.

You can be funny and entertaining while also not be missing 70% of the dialogue. This show is only 6 episodes this season. The dialogue is really important. It’s not a cgi or over the top spectacle like the last 2 seasons of game of thrones

First starters egg acted weird in at least 2 scenes just in the previous episode whenever Targaryens were around. Boy acts weird around people with white hair, speaks and behaves like a noble, said he was from kings landing but not from flea bottom. If you couldn't figure it out by this episode you just weren't paying attention or are slow when it comes to movies/show's .

In the books egg was the mad kings grandfather, but in the show they changed him to being the mad kings father. They skipped an entire generation in the original show. The brother they sent to the citadel is aemon. The old man from the original show, he was the master at the wall. On his death bed in the show he was calling for his brother “egg”
