This was Walter’s first murder done without any reason or gain. Just pure pettiness and spite.

Walt supplied Gus with the purest meth ever produced. Gus said openly he would kill Walt again and again. Don't let Walt's pride distract you from Mike being wrong about Gus. Walt had to kill him to live. Mike was wrong about Lydia planting the bug and he was careless with Dan the lawyer. I love the dynamic of him & his granddaughter- these are professional criminals and human too. They make mistakes like most would in the real world.

"Say my Name". 🔥🔥 Heisenberg was not much more than a meth myth up until today. Once they realize who he is, Declan's actor especially portrays a delicate fear so perfectly. This old bald guy with glasses who dresses like an average American, is the biggest name in the meth business. This show is so good- it's almost surreal. I have yet to see a fictional character carry this much aura and it's all credit to everyone on this show. Maybe the best moment in television history.

This is the first time Walt killed someone purely out of emotion. Walt reasons for killing Mike were mainly jealousy and an hurt ego. Walt blamed Mike for taking Jesse away from him since Mike encouraged Jesse to think for himself and do what was best for him. Their relationship (Jesse and Mike) is a bit of a parallel to Jr. and Hank’s: once again Walt is losing a son to a better father figure. And of course the ego thing is pretty self evident, since it’s Walt biggest hubris. That’s what makes the show so compelling imo, every scene has multiple layers.

Mike did go out on a rookie move. But thats the thing about growing old in criminal business. You make a name for yourselff off the back of youth, speed, strength, endurance. Then as you get old you replace that with intellect and charisma... But then you get really old and even that starts to fail. by then, you will likely go out to the same stuff rookies do. Gus only turned on Walt after he killed his guys. He was ok with Walt before that. Mike told Walt to let go of Jesse and let him face the consequences of his actions, but Walt didn’t listen. If he had, Jesse would be dead, but Walt, Mike, and Gus would still be working together just fine.

Btw Walt needed to get rid of gus regardless because gale was always Gus’s choice he would’ve killed Walt the second Gale learned his formula whether Walt killed those gang bangers or not he only used Jesse and Walt because he had no alternative to appease Walt until he could dispose of them both he saw them both as liabilities.

I think Gus was honestly going to let Walt just die naturally while Gale learns the formula. Less hassle that way, assuming Walt would play ball. It's only when Walt started becoming more trouble than he's worth, like usual, that he decides to clip him.

Honestly I see why you guys say it Walt’s fault but remember the only reason things got bad was because Jesse was going to crash out and try to kill the henchmen who killed the kid walt killed them before they got the chance so Jesse wouldn’t die
