Today it's time to check out episode 4 of The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live. This episode really slowed down a lot but it was good to see Rick and Michonne have a much needed conversation.

Who do y'all feel like you side with more when it comes to protecting family, their community, & their relationship given the big threat of the CRM, Rick or Michonne?

This is my absolute favorite episode of this series. Danai Gurira (Michonne) wrote this episode and it had the depth that was needed. It showed Rick's PTSD from being held captive. I mean the scene where she put her hand on his heart to slow his breathing, and let him know that she was there for him, and just like Jadis said, together they can do anything. Plus we got a love scene that we have all waited for. Plus he finds out about RJ. Yes, this was well written by Danai.

I think the reason im on Michonne's side (although i disagree with how she went about it), is because she's always on the side of, the enemy will not change us. We can win and live. But for Rick, this is like the 8th time he's been pushed against the wall and said "this is how it has to be" in terms of giving up who he is or his role in his family. Its a tired plot. And to be clear, i blame writing. One of them has to sit on one side of the fence and one has to sit on the other for story drama. Its just tired by now.

Omg where did you get 7 years from adison? Rick was in a position that judith said he was probably in... she said he's probably stuck somewhere and can't leave so michonne has to go find him... she wasn't wrong for going to look for her kids father/her husband... Daryl and Carol would die before they let something happen to judith and rj and before michonne left, judith said alpha was dead and the problem was over not knowing they still had to deal with beta

I've been watching them for a minute so I know what they usually get mad at... they spent the block on my ssa and understood everything of what rick was saying lol

Rick has been gone for 8 years. Michonne has been gone for 1 year. She and Nat got gassed by the CRM and had to recover from it, which is why she said the CRM took a year from her and her kids.

😅 Let’s talk about the sex scene… because… justice for Rick… I think we’re meant to interpret the reason Rick panicked mid-intercourse to be: he was letting her back in emotionally, causing him fear. He said he learned how to let that part of himself die. So feeling love return meant he could lose it all over again. He said he couldn’t survive experiencing that heartbreak over again. The flood of oxytocin does a number on emotions! NOT what you guys thought happened! 😆

There was a 6 year time jump in the main show after the bridge explosion and Michonne was still home for a while after that. She says in this episode that RJ is almost 8 so it’s been less than two years that she’s been gone. Also, she didn’t plan to be gone so long but when they got bombed the recovery took a year…and soon after that she was heading back home but that’s when they ran into Rick’s helicopter.

They couldn't move on until they figure out where they're going... this episode was much needed.... we've never seen them argue before and to see them finally get out their frustration is something that needed to happen... rick felt like he needed to go back to the crm and michonne was ready to grab rick and take him straight home not knowing what could possibly happen if the crm found out they escaped... rick needed to break everything down to michonne for her to understand what's at stake and why they can't just up and leave like that

Well, they mistook Rick's panic attack during their sex scene for Rick being a minute man. 🤦🏾‍♀️ Not saying that most men would miss that but dang. Also their agreement with Rick's erratic and hurtful behavior, their idea that Thorne is in love with Rick and jealous of Michonne are just a few perspectives that I found very different to what I thought when I first watched.

Roomba's been around since early 2000s. Y'all really make me feel old sometimes, because I remember the concept in the 90s. LOL Michonne has only been gone for 2 years at most. She stayed in the mall recovering with Nat for about a year. She was heading home when she found Rick. RJ was 4-5 when she left. Rick has PTSD. When Michonne was talking to the artist who drew her and Judith on the cell phones, the artist said he could never get the boy right. Michonne realized Rick had forgotten what Carl looked like. I can't imagine not remembering my lost loved ones because I have pictures and even old videos! I cannot imagine forgetting someone I loved dearly - it may feel like betrayal. In this episode, she broke through his PTSD. Danai (Michonne) wrote this episode. It is so well written. She was nominated for an Emmy. I saw an interview with her, and she explained she did a lot of research on PTSD to write the episode. She said there's very little improvised; their dialogue/arguing was scripted, and the sex scene was choreographed with intent. And for the record, most sex scenes in shows/movies are written by men and don't move the plot. But in this episode, their sex scene was written to show Rick fighting through his PTSD. I absolutely loved this episode. I wished Danai had won the Emmy. But she will get her flowers one day! Enjoy the next couple of episodes.

What part of "they literally have a file on our people, kids, and where we live" didn't Michonne understand? I feel like Rick's made it clear that this isn't his choice as much as the fact the deck is stacked against them. They can't just kill Jadis, they can't just leave and pray no one finds them. Even so, that scene talking about Carl made me tear up hardcore, and still happy they left together in the end

We got a glimpse of when Atlanta was bombed way back in twd .. remember the flashback of when lori first met carol and Ed ..they were on a highway stuck. She asked Carol to watch Carl and her and Shane were talking and overlooking the city. Then we saw the city getting bombed

Yeah this is the first reaction I've seen that had a different view then me... just threw me all the way off siding with rick... him not explaining anything to michonne as to why he can't leave and got her thinking he's locked all the way in with the enemy and telling her to go back home, she shouldn't have come after she left her kids to go look for him smh... they needed this timeout so Rick can break everything down the right way... any of us females would be pissed if we went so long thinking our husband/kids father is dead but we believe deep down inside he's alive then we find him but he seems like he don't wanna come home and be with his family... yeah I couldn't imagine being in michonne shoes

Osafa Judith and RJ is in good hands with Daryl. He was there for both of their births. He would give his life for them, plus Michonne is the only one who could get through to Rick. Daryl Carol or Maggie would have never gotten through to him. So yes go get your husband Michonne. Adison Michonne was gone for a year and a half, not seven. Rick was gone for almost eight. And I would go find my man even if he only gets to meet his kids and then die. The kids would remember and hold onto that instead. Rick couldn't drive the car bcuz it requires two hands.

This is heartbreaking because it explains why Rick was so fearful of the CRM. Lived most of the apocalypse with them, plus all the failed escape attempts, cutting off his own hand. A person doesn’t just bounce back from that level of trauma. It’s a miracle Michonne got through to him.

Michonne just wanted Rick back home with his family. To her, that's all that matters. It depends on your perspective if that's right or not. Personally, I'd want my husband back home with me but not if it costs all of Alrxandira. In her mind, she could defeat them. Honestly, once he told me “What we had his over.” I would have been out ✌️
