The torture was not necessary and shouldn’t have been an option in my opinion. He’s a kid and a victim like Kristi pointed out just as much as Fatima and Sara. Boyd is supposed to be a leader to everyone. We now know he would go as far as hiding that his daughter in law committed a murder. What message does that send to the everyone else? It’s hypocritical. It’s also hypocritical that Boyd and Donna seem to have forgiven Sara for the murders she committed because Boyd thought her to be useful and because she was influenced by the same evil that caused Elgin to do what he did. I agree with Acosta. Boyd and Sara’s actions were monstrous. I think those types of actions could be a part of the plan or the catalyst for the plan that the Man in Yellow has for everyone through “Sophia.”

I knew they were gonna miss that opening after the recap, because they’re always skipping the intro. But to be honest MGM and other streaming sites set up the skip options for these shows, particularly during recaps and openings. So it’s really the fault of the studio streaming for doing a shit job of cutting the episode up.

I dont think torture was needed, as the outcome would have been the same for Fatima. But the "kid" argument goes out the window when that kid is kidnapping and giving pregnant women over to monsters. He's not adult technically but he's sure old enough to know better than that. I agree about the hypocritical stuff for sure

What should they have done? Fatima was kidnapped and could be dying and PREGNANT ( they still thought it was an actual baby, they had no confirmation it was Smiles). They tried to explain the Elgin that the voices were lying, Sara tried as well. Sara did what had to be done. Were they just supposed to sit back and wait? But I do agree they are hypocritical because they hid Fatima's murder. But with Sara, I don't. Sara is alive because she has helped the group numerous times since then. Acosta is naive and doesn't understand the true horrors of that place. Yes Elgin is a victim but that doesn't mean what he did isn't wrong, same for Sara. They were manipulated but that's not a free pass.

Torture was needed because they had no idea if Fatima was dying or being tortured or anything. I'm not gonna sit back and wait for the plan Elgin was talking about to happen. But yes the "kid" goes out the window. That big ole kid lured Fatima out to kidnap her.

Adison FYI: I just caught the 4th episode. That makes the 4th episode this season that the show starts right after the recaps, then goes into the credits. Seems like they’re trying something new this season. So if y’all don’t want to miss some, potentially, very important information at the first few minutes of the show, you might want to just try slight fast-forward through the recap.

Elgin had all the chances in the world to prevent what happened to him from happening. He wasn't up against Ramsey Bolton. It wasn't a lose lose situation. He knew it was either talk or lose his body parts. Knowing that, he intentionally chose to sacrifice those pieces of himself with his silence.
