And remember most of the history of the worlds past is lost at this point in time, so I do not believe any of them knew of the Trojan horse and the battle of Troy. So ragnar came up with essentially the exact same plan as odysseus did, and the French had no clue something like that would happen, as there is no wide spread knowledge of such things.

The reason they allowed him to be buried is because they knew Athelstan was a Christian and he meant a lot to Ragnar, so it seemed reasonable enough. Me personally, I still would've said no🦇

I these times Christianity was Catholicism. It wasn’t until about the 1500 that England created their own church and separated from being Catholic and that’s where the modern Christianity started. Ragnar was brought in to their walls because he converted to Christianity and upon death they need the last sacrament which is a Mass and that’s done in church.

I liked season 2 and 3 the best! I just finished season 5 and 6 for the first time since I only watch 1-4 and season 5 & 6 was my least favorite out the whole series. They was still a good watch but they felt completely different from the other 4 seasons
