In Sweden a child birth wold cost you 80skr/day (~8$) and your paying only for food- 3 meals a day + snacks in between. Regardless of what how much care you need. Then you have 420 days paid leave +1250skr (~125$) per month in child support and until the child is 16 you can be at home with the child if they are sick. And you get paid as if you self was sick.

Mashalla, congratulations and well done -- finally a podcast to which I can relate. Full disclosure, I'm an socialist psychiatrist of Iraqi-Iranian decent living in the US, with an American-Hrvatskan utopian communist wife. I hope my teenaged offsprings grow up to to be as wise you three!

An example of US “equality before the law” - George Floyd tried to pass a fake $20 at a store and was immediately dragged into the street and executed, while Donald Trump cheats on his taxes for millions of $$ and gets elected president Great podcast by the guy, I really enjoy all of you guys work!

Fantastic work as always. Honestly, Hakim, your part on what medical costs should be by experience in practice are some.. idk how to put it to words, im a US premed student who is disenfranchised with medicine because how barbaric the system here is.

I was debating whether I should become a patron, then I listened to Hakim's commentary on maternal healthcare and I knew I had to subscribe. One of the first things that encouraged me to learn more about socialism was my mom (a midwife) telling me about the Cuban model of healthcare vs how the US treats mothers & pregnant women.
