Dear KI community members,

Thank you to everyone who was able to make it to our Q&A and war update with defense reporter Illia Ponomarenko on Thursday! Illia and Olga discussed the current state of the war, the fighting in Bakhmut, the possibility of an invasion from Belarus, and day-to-day life in Kyiv amid Russian attacks.

For those who were not able to make it, here is the recording. We apologize for the low video quality: Illia and Olga called in from the office in Kyiv, which did not have power at the time of our event. They used the Starlink satellite to connect to wifi.

Thank you to everyone again for your questions and comments – and to everyone who writes in the chat where they’re calling in from at the beginning of each event, it’s been great to see how international our support is! Thank you!

Thank you from California, USA. Without your perspective we wouldn’t know what’s truly going on in Ukraine and what its people are going through. Please stay safe and continue your excellent work.

Many Thanks for the insights and stay safe!

Many thanks to Illia and Olga for what has to be a classic war report. Putin cannot win now. He does not have enough men to conquer Ukraine and it would be impossible to occupy it against a hostile 40 million people. He knows that. Great to see this evil oligarch squirm and run. Do not worry about the nukes. He might order it but I doubt his military would obey. Tom

I hate that you had to record this video by candlelight -- but I love the fact that you did it, by candlelight.. if that makes sense. Merry Christmas to you both - stay strong!
