What is behind Prigozhin first saying Wagner is going to leave Bakhmut and then saying they will stay? Is it really lack of ammunition? Why is Putin tolerating such behavior?

Related to Trevor's question above - is this an internal funding issue between Wagner Ind and Putin? How lucrative is Wagner's participation in the war?

Is it worth paying so much attention to this soap opera? Russian officials and wannabes lie. We know that. Why not stop trying to analyze their babbling and just watch what they do, as Ukrainian officials keep suggesting?

Q: Is it theatre that Prigoxhin lost his cool, and was then put in his place by Kadyrov (in his Louis Vuitton "military" jacket) ? Or is the paradign Chicago gangland warfare, each clan squabbling for a piece of the pie as central authority disintegrates? The latter example is not unlike the Warlord period in China. Regardless, what is or can be done to keep them fighting each other?

What effect are the Wagner operations in Ukraine having on Wagner's extra-European operations?

Blue Cardinal

Would it be advisable for the US to try and pay the Wagner Group, or even just portions of it, to withdraw from Ukraine? If that is feasible, what would the pros and cons of doing so be?
