Best jump scare ever! Theo’s monologue is so so great too!

For the most part I think the show is more creepy/unsettling scary than gory/jump scare scary. Obviously this episode has two of the bigger exceptions. The scene with Hugh and Steve where he talks about witness marks and reveals that he never built the kids a treehouse is so, so good. I’m so excited for next week’s episode. It’s one of my favorites in the way it pieces so many things together and sets us up for the finale.

Not sure if anyone has commented this yet but fun fact: the very talented Kate Siegel who plays adult Theo is actually the wife of director of the show - Mike Flanagan!! Loved this reaction, that jump scare in the car gets me every time! Cant wait for the next episode!! P.S. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE also do '' The Haunting of Bly Manor" made by the same director. That one is also AMAZING, Flanagan is one of my most favorite directors!

That, my boyz, was the jump scare of the century! I actually screamed a little the first time through, something I hadn't done in years. I love supernatural horror so I'm used to flinching, cringing, pushing back in my chair, etc. Occasionally I might gasp. Though, honestly, it was probably less of a scream and more of a high-pitched squeal. I had to stop the video, rewind a bit and watch again to be sure of what I saw. Then Theo's gut-wrenching confession had me in tears, sobbing along with her, feeling that ache in her soul. The whole scene was masterful, and beautiful, and terrifying all at once. And the final two episodes are as well. Bring 'em on!
