I can’t believe hunterXhunter is ending next week 😭 feels like such a long yet short journey haha. Have you guys decided what’s gonna be in the poll for replacement already? Excited for it!

Cant believe its over! It’s the longest series we have covered on the channel so far. It will likely be My Hero Academia replacing it as the final seasons are currently airing. We want to cover it while its still relevant

i dont know if you noticed yet but "pariston hill" name is a pun. when you switch the ton from pariston to hill you get paris hilton :D

Oh okay cool! I knew you guys were really wanting to react to that but I wasn’t sure if it was going in a poll or not. It’ll be fun to rewatch my hero with you guys!

Yeah, the election side of this arc was more to introduce the Zodiacs and develop them. It makes more sense in the manga because they are still around.

Well the election also just offers up more world building and intrigue into the hunter association as well which was pretty underdeveloped up until now in terms of actual details on how it functions. Like there's a lot of implications behind how someone like pariston can run things the way he does when netero was so powerful and yet still wanted someone like pariston around for fun. I think their tastes just skews more traditional anime story beats/plotting. The alluka arc, aside from being a pretty big ass-pull features the more traditional anime emotional beats (killua wants to save him from harm, love is going to motivate to do the right thing etc.). It's pretty meh for a hxh arc, which is only saved by the somewhat interesting mechanic alluka has, but even that has some issues which ties back to the above 'love is important' stuff.
