Dub is absolutely fine! Edit: I forgot how horrendous the subs are for this. I hope you liked it! It's certainly a bit different but it's still my damn favourite.

My personal favorite. Although I always choose sub over dub, this is one of the best dubs in my opinion.

I think it's important to understand that in a lot of the Ghibli movies, the relationship between the two main characters isn't necessarily romantic. Like with Chihiro and Haku in Spirited Away, there's nothing romantic about it, affection and love can be platonic as well. I always saw San and Ashitaka the same way. San literally hates all humans except for Ashitaka, so jumping into romance is quite a big leap. Compare these two to Sophie and Howl which is clearly a romantic pairing.

I watched this as a kid before I became aware of the concept of conservation. What interested me the most was the idea of 'why can't animals speak, what if they could speak before but humans made them dumb' lol
