A head's up Demon Slayer Infinity Castle Chapter 1: Akaza's return ha out already in Japan so do be vigilant to avoid spoilers for the movie on social media. Weird that in most other countries it comes out September 12 then even later on Crunchyroll but just a heads up.

(ps: for me it's Zoey, i'd die for that cutie pie, but post-acceptance Rumi with the scars is hella attractive, but i definitely would be a zoey stand if we put supernatural elements aside LOL. she sends me!)

Here’s a random thing I noticed after my 50th watch: Rumi is animated on 2s (every other frame), giving her a jagged, rougher motion early on. Meanwhile, the demons are animated on 1s — smoother and more fluid — which feels a little uncanny but visually sets them apart. Then, when Rumi starts to accept herself as part-demon during the Free Song with Jinu, her animation shifts from 2s to 1s. She literally moves smoother — like the demons — reflecting her partial embrace of that side of herself and feeling less disconnected from the world around her, less shame BUT ONLY around jinu , showcased by her fluidity vs the background frame rate. Also, Zoey has a small, faint lisp. You can mostly catch it when she speaks in a lower register — especially when she tells Rumi and Mira, the night before the finale, that her thoughts and notebook felt weird until she met Huntrix. And here’s the subtle brilliance: the lisp is barely noticeable, but it probably stems from her being self-conscious — not just about the lisp itself, but about being mixed Asian compared to the others. That insecurity might be why she’s louder, more animated, and bubbly in higher tones, filled with vowels instead of consonants. Yet when she lets her guard down — when she’s vulnerable and alone with the girls — the lisp slips through. And the best part? The girls don’t even acknowledge it, because they don’t think it's a big deal or worth pausing for — even if Zoey does. And the icing on the cake? In public, the lisp resurfaces when she mumbles or feels unsure. But the only time it completely vanishes is when she’s singing with the others. (Yes, I know it’s a different singer — shush, let me cook.) Her lisp blends seamlessly into the trio’s harmonies with Mira and Rumi, making it disappear entirely. It’s such a thoughtful thematic detail: the shame and flaws we obsess over feel massive to us, but with a support group, they fade into the background. Still, you can’t just rely on others — you have to accept yourself, like Rumi. And you can’t just accept your flaws and expect the world to accommodate them IF they hurt others too (and not just internal struggles) — you have to try to be better, to atone for your mistakes, to grow. Like Jinu — who, after a lifetime of sacrificing nothing for anyone, finally gives the ultimate sacrifice for someone else, and only then earns his soul back. But anyways, I digress.

Ange's obsession over Soda Pop kills me xDDD My favourite is Your Idol that Saja boys sang at the end but I complete get your love for Soda Pop. The song is sooo catchy!! This movie was soooo good!! Definitely something funny yet heartfelt and original that we need right now. Arden Cho as Rumi was so damn good. The Huntrix trio reminded me so much of Powerpuff Girls lmao, I'm a sucker for these kinds of trios xDD I do think Saja boys were based on popular Kpop boy bands. I do know that Jinu was kind of based on Jungkook (BTS) and Cha Eun Woo, and I believe Baby Saja was inspired by Jimin (BTS) and Felix (Stray Kids). Felix also sang Solo Leveling season 2 opening with Lisa btw. I really really wish Netflix will do a sequel to this movie and we get to see more of Jinu and the Saja boys too. I LOVED the girls in this but I agree with Carlie, we needed more time with Jinu too and that ending was just unacceptable! I know the others were just regular demons but idc I want a backstory on all of them and a sequel with the Saja boys comeback! xDD Thank you so much for reacting to this guys! I really like the parallel you drew from this with Oshi No Ko cos I had felt the same too, like not all of it but there were definitely some similar elements that Oshi No Ko also relates to about the idol industry. Btw my fav characters were the tiger and the bird. Derpy and Sussie, the fandom has named them. I bloody love them xDD Fun fact: Jinu's VA in the Japanese dub is Kaito Ishikawa, who also voiced our beloved Tenya (MHA) and Genos (OPM) and ofc Kageyama (Haikyuu)

I gotta say I watched this film soly to watch your reaction 😂 that being said it was awesome. I loved the visuals, the music and the characters were good too. Music wise my favorite is the Golden and the What It Sounds Like was a hit too but tbh Soda Pop was… mid… for me (Sorry Ange 😄) And I have to add this that even if my favorite was Zoey from the trio, I loved Mira‘s voice the most
