MOVIE REACTION

Comments

Mesha

Can’t wait for tomorrow!

Noctis

bro i thought we had to wait after the other uploads lmao LETSS GOOO

ThaDoubleB

This anime is amazing because it always finds a way to get better and better, even when you don’t think it is possible. The movie was just brilliant, balanced being both hilarious and heartfelt, while still enriching its characters still.

I wholeheartedly agree. I was skeptical going into the movie, took me a while... but when I watched it I loved every part equally for how introspective it is, how different from the regular seasons and how overall serious without neglecting the humour.

Simone

I LOVED YOUR REACTION

Martin Sætran

All-in-one. You're spoiling us now. :D

Halibel

Noctis

awesome reactions im gunna miss all the stories from yalls relationship maybe some other animes will bring it up

Halibel

zoldaic

Love the reaction! This is my first time watching the movie ver., i’ve read this part in manga and seems like they skipped quite a bit in the end with tsubame party and the date.hopefully they revisited it in S4. Ps. Im merely expressing my thought, like rhetorical, so no further hints peeps in replies for what’s coming lol

I think it's more of a tease that there will be a next season explaining what happened at the party. Cause the only thing they skip out of the manga, as far as I can tell, was when shirogane and kaguya went to the movies together with those tickets from ep 1.

it will be, it just wouldnt have fit with the movie within its run time, it wouldve broken it up too much.

HemiRT

I like that they included the bit at the end with Ishigami because to me it implies that season 4 is coming. This movie is at about the halfway point of the manga so there's a lot of good story left.

Enrique 99

3 seasons and 1 movie for a "fine " omg miyuki xD ahahaha

MADHOUSE

And now we're caught up! I always loved your guys' post discussions for Kaguya-sama because it felt like a couple's/marriage counseling session🤣I haven't read the manga since season 1 was first announced years ago, so I don't know what happens beyond this point, but I loved your theory with the scene with Ishigami and Tsubame. Maybe she did accidentally drink alcohol, passed out, and Ishigami came to see if she was alright. Being the nice guy that he is, seems like that'd be something he'd do. Anyway, was a fun watch. Looking forward to the OP/ED's and new show

telling kaguya to put her hair up and fix things is wild hahahaha

Merfhew
>>111005460

That would probably give them enough time to catch up before the anime returns in October. I'd be on board with it.

Amrith

That little wooden hammer a judge uses is called a gavel, Ange. I was taken aback too when I first saw it because I thought it was a gavel and Miyuki zoned in on the internal conflict within her and bought her this present for her to use in order to compose herself whenever she is plagued by all those conflicts.

They don't really skipped the things that happened in the party. Those were adressed in a flashback after the christmas/first kiss arc in the manga. They adapted almost everything from ch 138 to 159 (this is when the kiss at the end of the movie happened and Miyuki walked her home). After that we had like 3 more minutes left on the movie so no time for start another arc, that's why they just tease us with Tsubame and the date with the final montage and true confession, here is where they "skipped" chapters: 152 to 158, (the date is on ch 159 and 160) but the movie was ending anyways and they fully adapted the main arc. Also, this arc is about Kaguya and Miyuki relationship so I think that It was the right choice to follow the pacing of the manga and how it was intended to be told by Aka Akasaka.

SomeChosen One

I was wondering if it was weird that I didnt react too much to miyuki's room in this movie but had a huge reaction when I read the manga for what the movie covered but im glad atleast the first part of the equation is confirmed

Astrea Stars

We need a Hayaka love arc with Kaguya helping in return!

John Pardue

(no spoilers) for the Ishigami/Tsubame stuff they show right at the end, its intentionally unclear what's going on. Per how the manga plays out, this will get addressed and explained almost immediately when the inevitable season 4 releases

Jesus Ascencio

Starting a relationship is not the end, it is the beginning of a new story.

Jason

Miyuki's "Fine" at the end actually didn't mean to sound that "pretending to be cool" kind of way. He replied "Wakatta" to Kaguya's "Please be my boyfriend", which means "Okay", "I got it", "Understood" etc. it's not "I love you too" or anything lovey dovey, it's a pretty neutral phrase and heavily relies on the tone and how it is said, and his tone was sincere, so actually I'm quite okay with him saying that and I think it is a callback to Kaguya doesn't want things to be too extravagant? That's how I see it😂

Rue Ryuuzaki
>>111007354

That's just a bad translation. Miyuki said "wakatta" which means okay/agree in very casual way which fits his speaking pattern.

Rue Ryuuzaki
>>111020573

Its wakatta which is a very casual phrase that matches with Miyuki's speaking pattern

zoldaic
>>111005968

yeah that’s what i meant by “skipped”. Didnt touch anything about pacing bcs i like it :)

PackerMan

I'll put in 2 cents as well on the "Fine" response. In most romance anime/manga that's played straight, confessions goes something like this: 1) One person (usually guy) voices the confession. 2) The other (usually girl) accepts (or rejects). 3) They're now a couple (or now have a story to become a couple). So, here Kaguya confessed and Miyuki accepted without missing a beat. That's the weight of the scene and why Kaguya looked moved in the scene. Because hesitation means doubt (several normal romance anime/manga plays around with this idea). All this time Kaguya thought "You'd have 100% success if you confessed", but now she's discovered that the opposite was also true, all because she took a leap of faith.

this is one long ass username

Yo the part where Carlie agrees with the narrator on the "it’s all downhill afterwards" in the discussion was HILARIOUS 😂

FTN Chicken

Low key need you guys to pick up another high school romance anime, just to facilitate those amazing discussions

Carbon
>>111031737

Agreed. Also it was kinda "mistranslated". It wasn't simply "Fine". It was 100% affirmation.

PackerMan
>>111031737

Indeed. But a proper translation would've also felt out of place. "Understood" feels too formal, like a military response. "Got it" is worse. I can't think of a way to convey the idea of "I accept" but still translate "wakatta" within the context with a single phrase. @Kawin

Lobstar

Good Thing that this is the Half way point in the Manga. So a lot of content to be Animated is left.

Carbon
>>111031737

I think "I accept" would be the best one given the context. The formality of it all was supposed to emphasize "I take full responsibility in this decision. I'm all in." I forgot how it was translated in the manga but it seemed more nuanced there.

plug-in panda
>>111040694

i agree but i dont think there really is one that can create discussions this great in the same way that kaguya does. maybeeeee horimiya?

Martina

I need to know what happened at Ange's 18th birthday! 😂

Grey Cat

Ange for all the times you said that Maki is a bad friend, you really seemed sad to see her go at the airport 😂

Martina
>>111132807

omg you have no idea, at least watch the discussions if you're not into the anime

tracee miasco
>>111040694

Yeah horimiya would be nice but I don't like the latter half of the show where it gets dramatic. I would recommend quintessential quintuplets if they want another romance comedy show

Roger Powell

OMG!!!!! I don't care if you don't do a reaction. If you guys loved the park scene that much - YOU GUYS MUST SEE TORADORA!!!!
