Lmao initial vibes is pokemon for sure. Gon caught a sharpedo, ran off home in the middle of nowhere to say goodbye. Embarks on a journey at a young age and has to make friends along the way. Its not a bad thing!!!

I’ll only say kurapika’s age since the others get told in like a couple episodes, he’s 17 at this point (characters do age in this). Also when I watched this with my dad I had to push him a lot to get through the first bit but he started to really enjoy it and now we are on episode 100 and he loves it and I think you guys will too

HxH is a slow starter but it gets much better. I'm sure you'll enjoy it :) By the way, just a note, the Captain said rest easy, not rest in peace XD the Japanese word he used is "anshin shiro" which means something like "be at ease" or "don't worry".

The reason why you guys are my favourite reactors is that you pay attention to details as well as the names of the characters. ( I have seen reaction channels that forgot characters name even after 10+ episodes..)

I agree leaving people out cause seasickness is pretty stupid since as we all know many anime characters have silly weaknesses like that and then they're OP AF.

This is by far my favorite anime I’ve watched. Character development, the story telling and building, this show feels so different compared to all of the ones we are use to watching and I’m sure you’ll love it the more you watch. Can’t wait to see how you guys react to it!

HxH is one of the anime that has an impressive plot. The creation of its world, it is so fantastic and complex. First episodes are boring but you’ll eat that like I did HAHA. So enjoy its development! LOL

Show's really good, but don't worry too much if you feel your enjoyment isn't on the level of your comments, there's nothing wrong with it. People who love HxH are pretty fanatical about it, I assume because for a lot of them it was THE childhood anime for them, to the point where people act like it's all a masterpiece even when it absolutely isn't. It's a great show though, that'll reward you for sticking with it especially since it definitely trends to getting better as it goes on.

I hope people will relax with the hinting of future events. I'm sure some people don't consider it spoiling but imo if its very heavy-handed hinting (which anime fans are often guilty of lmao) then I feel like it can negatively affect the enjoyment

I've never thought about HxH being similar to Pokemon, but now i can't unsee it lol, your so right! At least at the beginning for sure. Also I'll just say the "Rest Easy" translation wasn't the best.

Btw you probably won’t need the notepad for this series but if you want to have like a super good understanding of the show, you could write down names and the complicated power system and all it’s names when you get to it

this was not a childhood anime of mine, i began watching it earlier this year and will finish it very soon (last 10 episodes) and it broke into my top 3. yes, you should just experience it and not let fanatical fans sway your opinion too much, but it is undeniably great and rewarding and its quality should not be dismissed in such a way. just make your own opinions and give it time to show itself. i did and im super glad i did.

H x H is not as dark as animes like Attack on Titan, so they may not show people getting eaten by monsters directly, but it can still get intense sometimes. Looking forward to rewatch it with you! ^ ^

it was supposed to be dark but censorship is needed because of timeslot when it aired. If you watch the 1999 ver you could see the difference

You did my boy Leorio dirty with the "48 years old" guess. Sheeeeesh. Btw, the series starts off somewhat slow but once we get into the exam proper it becomes one of the best anime I've ever seen.
