Chapter 1: Sun Alchemist
Amestris - Northern Broder
The wind didn’t just blow at the northern border of Amestris; it screamed. It was a physical weight, a wall of ice and screaming air that sought to peel the skin from bone. At the center of this white hell stood the Great Wall of Briggs, a monolithic fortress that served as the only thing standing between the civilized world and the savage plains of Drachma.
Inside the command center, General Olivier Mira Armstrong looked like a statue carved from the very glacier she commanded. Her blue eyes, colder than the permafrost outside, were fixed on the young man standing across from her desk.
He didn't look like a soldier. He wore a heavy, fur-lined coat thrown open, revealing a black combat vest. His hair was a defiant, sun-scorched blonde that shouldn't have existed this far north. But it was his skin that drew the eye. Even in the dim light, the intricate, swirling ink of alchemy arrays was visible, crawling up his neck and disappearing under his sleeves.
"Naruto Uzumaki," Olivier said, her voice a whip-crack. "The Fuhrer sent you here because you’re a 'specialist, a state alchemist.' I don't like state alchemists. I like soldiers. I like people who follow the Law of Briggs: the strong survive, and the weak are discarded."
Naruto grinned, a flash of white teeth that held no fear. "Good thing I’ve never been much for being discarded, General. And 'State Alchemist' is just a title. I’m here because I heard you have a problem with things staying frozen. I happen to be very good at making things hot."
Olivier stood, her saber clinking against her hip. She walked toward him, her presence enough to make most men buckle. She stopped inches from him, her height nearly matching his. "Thermal conversion. You don't use circles. You use your own body as the vessel. High-risk, high-friction. If you miscalculate, you spontaneously combust or freeze your own blood."
"Calculations are for people who aren't feeling the flow," Naruto said, his gaze dropping momentarily to her lips before meeting her eyes again. "I feel the heat, General. In the air, in the ground… even in you."
The room went silent. The guards at the door tensed. Olivier didn't flinch. She leaned in closer, the scent of expensive perfume and cold steel wafting off her. "Bold. Let’s see if that boldness lasts five minutes in the tundra. Captain Buccaneer! Throw this 'State Alchemist' into the Pit. If he’s still standing by morning, maybe I’ll give him a uniform."
The Pit
The Pit wasn’t a hole in the ground; it was a combat arena exposed to the elements, where the elite of Briggs tested their mettle. For six hours, Naruto didn't just survive; he thrived.
When the Drachman scouts chose that exact moment to launch a covert raid through the hidden mountain passes, Naruto didn't wait for orders.
The soldiers watched in awe as the blonde alchemist sprinted into the blizzard. He didn't clap his hands. He didn't draw a circle. He simply gripped his own forearms, the tattoos on his skin glowing a fierce, molten orange.
“Thermal Array: Absolute Friction!”
He slammed his palms onto the frozen earth. The result wasn't an explosion of fire, but something far more terrifying. In a hundred-yard radius, the temperature spiked from sub-zero to a localized inferno in a split second. The snow didn't melt; it sublimated instantly into a blinding white mist.
The Drachman soldiers, geared for the cold, suddenly found their armor searing their skin. Naruto moved through the steam like a predator. Every strike he landed carried the focused heat of a furnace. A punch to a shield turned the metal red-hot; a kick to the ground created a gout of steam that blinded the remaining attackers.
From the observation deck, Olivier watched through binoculars. She saw the way he moved, not with the rigid form of a soldier, but with the fluid, aggressive grace of a natural disaster.
"He’s not just generating heat," she whispered to herself. "He’s stealing it from the environment to fuel his strikes. Efficient. Deadly."
She regarded Naruto with a newfound admiration; although she typically held a disdain for state alchemists, most of whom she found to be either weak or utterly deranged, she recognized the strength of the blonde alchemist and decided to give him an opportunity.
Fast Forward
Two weeks later, Naruto was no longer a guest; he was a accepted. He had bypassed the "slow-burn" of military promotion through sheer results. More importantly, he had done something no one else in Briggs dared to do: he treated Olivier Mira Armstrong like a woman, not just a General to her annoyance.
It was late, the moon reflecting off the jagged peaks outside Olivier’s private balcony. She was reviewing maps of the underground tunnels when a knock sounded. Naruto entered, carrying two glasses and a bottle of high-end whiskey he’d somehow "acquired."
"Working late, General? Or are you just afraid the mountain will move if you stop watching it?"
Olivier didn't look up. "Uzumaki. I didn't give you permission to enter."
"I’m a state alchemist, remember? I specialize in breaking the rules." He set the glass down on her map, right over the Drachman border.
She finally looked up, her blonde hair falling over one shoulder. The fire in the hearth flickered, casting long shadows. "You’re an irritant. You disrupt the discipline of my men. They’re starting to mimic your… 'presence'."
"Maybe they just needed a reminder that life isn't just about surviving the cold," Naruto said, stepping around the desk. He leaned against it, his hand brushing near hers. "It’s about what you do with the warmth you find."
The air in the room changed. It wasn't the alchemy, but the raw, magnetic tension that had been building since he arrived. Olivier stood, her chair scraping against the floor. She was used to being the hunter, the one who dominated every interaction. But Naruto didn't back down.
"You think you’ve got me figured out?" she challenged, her voice low and dangerous.
"I do, I think the 'Ice Queen' is a mask," Naruto countered. He reached out, his fingers tracing the line of her jaw. His skin was unnaturally warm, a byproduct of his constant thermal manipulation. "A very beautiful, very lethal mask. But even glaciers have a melting point."
Olivier grabbed his wrist, her grip like a vice. "You’re playing with fire, alchemist."
"Good," Naruto whispered, his other hand finding the small of her back, pulling her flush against him. "I’ve never liked playing safe."
Olivier didn't push him away. Instead, she grabbed the lapels of his vest and pulled him down into a kiss that tasted of whiskey. It wasn't a gentle kiss; it was a battle. It was Briggs... hard, demanding, and consuming.
Olivier’s Private Quarters
They moved from the office to her private quarters in a blur of discarded leather and heavy fur. In the sanctuary of her bed, away from the prying eyes of the garrison, the General of Briggs was stripped of bare.
Naruto’s tattoos were glowing now, a faint amber pulse that moved with his heartbeat. As his hands slid over her skin, Olivier gasped. It wasn't just physical warmth; it felt as if he were pouring energy directly into her.
"You’re… radiating heat," she breathed, her fingers digging into his shoulders.
"The more intense the feeling, the more the array reacts," Naruto groaned, his lips finding the sensitive skin of her throat. "I told you, Olivier. I feel the heat in everything. Especially in you."
Olivier, a woman who demanded total control, found herself surrendering to the overwhelming sensation of Naruto’s touch. He was a sun in the middle of her winter, a relentless force that demanded she feel something other than the cold duty of command.
Their union was as explosive as Naruto's alchemy. Every movement was punctuated by the crackle of static and the scent of their combined arousal. Olivier met his intensity with her own, her legs locking around his waist, her voice, usually reserved for commands, breaking into soft moans that only he would ever hear.
In that room, they became one. Olivier, for the first time, surrendered and submitted to someone else, letting herself just be a woman as her new lover brought her from orgasm to orgasm.
The Next Morning
The following morning, the sun rose over a world that looked the same, but everything had changed.
Naruto stood on the ramparts, his arm around Olivier’s waist as they looked out over the tundra. She didn't pull away, though her expression remained as stern as ever for the benefit of the soldiers below.
"The Central command is planning something," Olivier said, her mind already returning to the coup, the Homunculi, and the rot within the military. "The Fuhrer isn't human. This 'alchemy' of yours is going to have to burn brighter than ever if we’re going to survive what’s coming."
Naruto squeezed her side, his eyes flashing with a protective fire. "Let them come. Between your steel and my heat, we’ll turn Central to ash if we have to."
Olivier looked at him, a rare, genuine smirk tugging at the corner of her lips. "Spoken like a true soldier of Briggs."
"Does that mean I get a permanent room in the General’s quarters?"
"Don't push your luck, Alchemist," she said, though she leaned her head against his shoulder for just a second. "But… the heating in this fortress has always been sub-par. I suppose I can find a use for a personal heater."
Naruto laughed, the sound echoing off the ice. The Sun Alchemist had arrived in the North, and the frost would never be quite as cold again.

A/N: The relationship between Naruto and Olivier might not seem typical at first glance, but from my perspective, Olivier isn't someone who easily falls in love. She values strength, and Naruto possesses that quality in abundance. When he expressed interest in her, it both irritated and flattered her, which ultimately brought them together. I appreciate all the support, and take care everyone!
