The king Ayan doesn’t show his emotions on his face… and that’s what makes it so powerful He’s been through too much he learned to hide everything inside But if you really watch him closely, you can feel it in his eyes, in the silence. That’s not lack of emotion… that’s control. That’s pain. That’s incredible acting.

Ugh...they got straight up haters on line. 😂 I was gonna wait but these hater posts are making me mad so I guess I will watch along. People complaining there's no chemistry etc. 🙄 It's only been 2 episodes for crying out loud.

So far, only 2 eps so difficult to say anything on the chemistry, but I see potential, i hope it works out in next few eps.

In her most recent IU TV episode IU said that she asked the director and writer if it wouldn't be better to use a child actor to play the scenes at school. But they said 1) there aren't many child role scenes but 2) they are very importamnt scenes, so 3) could you play it?

Seungyeon, the queen mother and Wooseok have a historical drama together called Flower Crew; Joseon Marriage Agency! The dynamics there were so different, it's so weird seeing them at odds with each other here. It's so underrated but it's such a funny romcom sageuk. The weak hero lead was also a main in the drama, and Kim Min Jae

Well, thank God I'm not the only one that is not feeling their chemistry. I watched the 1st episode a day before you and this is essentially a "gaming drama" where I "watch" a non-offensive but forgettable drama while playing games on my phone. I'll watch your reactions since your reactions are more entertaining than the drama itself 😂 and maybe it gets better as it goes on 🤷‍♀️

Paper Tiger

I have to admit, I watched the 1st episode and was one of the haters, just kept it to myself though 😅 the 2nd episode is sliiiiightly better. The problem is a story this cheesy and lacking in common sense rides entirely on the chemistry of the leads and the charm of the entire cast (e.g. CLOY). I'm not feeling the leads chemistry and I'm not feeling the cast. Chemistry is such an interesting thing, some actors just have an abundance of it from the first shared scene and with some it feels forced and manufactured and no one can say for certain why is that the case. It's also subjective in terms of whether the audiences sees it or not 🤷‍♀️ Anyway, there is nothing to sustain me here beyond Harris' simping and Justin's voice of reason 😂

The chemistry is so so for me right now. Hopefully it gets better, but if you look at them as separate characters, they were pretty good as their characters. She's had it rough, always overlooked cuz of her status, which is not her fault. She'd have an 'I don't care' attitude toward the world. And of course she's just trying to break even with people who look down on her so she is playing it tough. She's willing to sacrifice her reputation to get what she deserves. I think that's how she sees it right now. He doesn't change his face a lot now, but I can see the small twitches in his response to her silliness. I think he's hiding his feelings cuz he likes her, but knows she's just using him and don't want her to know he already likes her. What do you do when the person you have feelings for come asking for help? You play hard to get but you know you'll do whatever for them. That's just a kdrama trope as old as time. 😅 And of course she will fall for him after she learns about who he really is. I'm here for the journey! 😂

I think it's so so right now too. Plus the cast feels like it's missing real grown ups. 😂🤣 But if I look at it from a fantasy point of view, I'll probably let it slide and cuz I also love both leads. 🤔😅

Honestly, It could be just me, but I think Wooseok's acting needs some improvements. Even though his character is supposed to hide/suppress emotions, I believe there are some other ways to portray that character, for example, through his eyes, but I don't think he's doing it well (at least so far). And especially the way he delivers lines.. It sounds a bit awkward to me and he isn't speaking clearly (I can feel this more cause I speak Korean). Don't get me wrong, I really like Wooseok and Sunjae is one of my favorite characters, so I just hope it gets better as the show goes on.🥹

eunwoo’s currently in the military, so a cameo wouldn’t have really been possible anyway. and from what i understand, it was a tax re-assessment issue rather than fraud. media coverage just made it sound a lot more serious than it was.

ryulemon

you guys aren't the only ones. i'm not seeing the chemistry

don't think you quite got it in the last episode, but his relationship with his late father wasn't all that great because his father scolded him whenever he did anything to outshine his brother, the crown prince at the time. I-An is just a spare, a prince who is not heir to the throne. So while he has to be good at everything, he's not supposed to excel or do anything to eclipse his brother, the heir to the throne. Whenever he excelled at anything, his father gave him a new prince title that basically told him to stand down and know his place.
