Interesting so far, we figured there is not really a central plot but more the journey throught his sentence, and the story within each character. Interested to see which characters stay throughout the whole show.

56:38 I think the scene is to highlight the very unfortunate circumstance that Je Hyuk is in, as you can see it focuses on his cuffed and tied hands. The look on Joon Ho's face shows how it hurts to see his best friend in that situation, and he hates seeing it, it's unfair whereas Je Hyuk should be at the peak of his career. Joon Ho was really hoping (desperate almost) that Je Hyuk win his appeal so that he could be free and go back to his normal life, that's why Joon Ho looks kinda nervous (some of the points that I meant to say got lost in translation, as English is not my first language, but I'm sure you get what I mean) That's what I think. I could be wrong though.
