Progress Report - Week of May 13, 2024 (Patreon)

Hello, all! I'm writing this week's progress report a couple of days early since I'm going to be at Midland Mayhem in Illinois all weekend. If there are any Sorcery players around who are also going, feel free to let me know in the comments! I'd love to meet up. Anyway, I'm not planning on getting any work done on Saturday, since I'll be spending the whole day traveling, so nothing is going to change between today and tomorrow, anyway. Here's how this week worked out, productivity-wise.

(LACK OF) PRODUCTIVITY: If you look at the attached Excel spreadsheet (which would make you a nerd), you'll notice that I only got around thirty hours of work done this week, which is less than I would like. This is for two reasons. First, I was on vacation all last week, being in California until Thursday and then recovering from that until Monday. My wife was off work and hanging around the house, and I was tired, and you know how it is. It's rough to get back into the swing of things after you've taken a lot of time off. Frankly, I'm proud that I did it at all! Second, I didn't have any ADHD meds until Tuesday, which is when you can see a noticeable uptick in my productivity. All in all, I'm not ashamed of the amount of work I put into the channel this week. I think it was a totally adequate, slow week that still managed to finish all of the work that I set out to get done.

NEW VIDEO: The new video (entitled simply "Solo Leveling") is done! You can watch it right now! I meant to have it available to you a few days earlier, but I did get it done in time for you all to have a two-day sneak preview before it launches on Youtube on Sunday. Unfortunately, I won't be able to do a premier or anything because I'll be busy playing wizard cards with strangers, but I'm super proud to have gotten this one done on-schedule despite all the setbacks.

GAME HANGOUT: Did game. Had hangout. Scrub was the only one who showed up, and she left around halfway through for Mother's Day stuff. Loser. It was fun, though! I tried out Rabbit and Steel, a new bullet hell that she's gotten really into. Not my thing, but it's always nice to try new stuff.

RESEARCH: Got caught up on Jellyfish Can't Swim in the Night, and tonight I'm going to host my weekly anime night with my wife and our friend. We'll watch more Kaiju No. 8, Bartender: Glass of God, and Astro Note. Still totally happy with Kaiju and Astro Note, and Bartender is perfectly fine, even if it's at the bottom of the list of things I'm watching this season. As for Jellyfish, it's. . . okay. It's visually beautiful, and I find the two main characters very charming, but the rest of the cast seems a little excessive. It's looking like a 7/10ish for me.

NEXT VIDEO: While the poll is still active, I feel pretty comfortable going ahead and starting my rewatch of Frieren: Beyond Journey's End. I'll call the poll a few days after the new video launches, and if you all surprise me and wind up turning the tide, then you do! Either way, I'm going to start rewatching Frieren on Monday, and I expect to be done with the rewatch by Wednesday morning.

And that's about it, it looks like! I really hope you all like the new video. I had a lot of fun making it, especially the OP sequences to separate the different topics. I'm definitely planning on keeping that up for other videos in this "series." If you want to make your voice heard, remember to vote in the poll for next video's topic! And if you don't, then you're done. No homework. See you all next week.
