Hello everyone! This is a brief build that introduces the first part of the previously discussed idea.[Test Build] https://mega.nz/file/Nhch0CaJ#nJF9LGLh_PIoeCddEKvGWXSrm3x7QIOHRgXNwexJZ-s

[Quick preview video] https://twitter.com/ProjectHerald/status/1706377970187710523Release notes:

Jasmine now responds to hit events from other characters. This logic will later apply to Lizardman as well.

Lizardman's hand attack now includes logic to generate hit events.

If a character is lying down and switches to movement, they can now play a transition animation if provided.

The Gameplay Ability System now has better control over the Movement Modes of the characters. Previously, the code was somewhat chaotic, and changes to the character's movement modes had to be made separately. Now, it is centralized.

Ragdoll Mode has been implemented for Jasmine. In ragdoll mode, body parts will react correctly when she is lying on the ground or when her body is in the water.

[Fix] Characters will no longer be highlighted when they are standing or swimming behind the water surface.

a weird error occcurs. dx12 is not supported on your system (but i have everything in order and a pretty much high-end pc)

Alexandraus

Oh, that is bad. Did you run only the exe or bat file?

Kara-Fel

Only the exes (there was one a bit hidden too)

Kara-Fel

I tried a older version and it worked without a hitch

Ryzen™ 9 7900X3D 64gb ram 7900xtx

The game "remnant 2" suffers the same problem at the moment. Maybe you find a solution by checking the error there

Alexandraus

Thanks for details. It seems like a very common problem for UE5 (UE5.1?). What windows version "winver" command is showing?

Kara-Fel

good morning! sorry was late and i did fall asleep! Windows 11 Version 22h2 (build 22621.2283)

Alexandraus

Morning :) Its okay. The only graphics change I made in the latest build was disabling SM5 support. But your video card definitely supports SM6. I am out of ideas, but I would also do these: 1. Check if you have the latest Windows updates installed. 2. You need to check if the latest AMD drivers are installed. 3. No guarantees, but try deleting the C:\Users\[Username]\AppData\Local\Herald\Saved folder. Sometimes this causes problems too.

Alexandraus

I tried turning SM5 back on and now UE says it needs SM6 for virtual shadows/textures. No luck.

Alexandraus

We found the problem. To quick fix you can add two lines: [/Script/Engine.RendererSettings] r.GraphicsAdapter=-1 at the end of the config file: ...\Users\[Username]\AppData\Local\Herald\Saved\Config\Windows\Engine.ini I will explain in more detail in a separate post why this bug occurred in the latest builds.
