Musicians react & analyze ♡ SKZ (CHANGBIN & I.N) - Burnin' Tires

Changbin & I.N Burning Everything! The first runner of the SKZ Mixtape: Dominate MV series is Changbin & I.N’s “Burnin’ Tires”! What a music video, what a track! Insanely fast-paced, with Changbin’s rapid-fire rap and I.N’s smooth yet powerful delivery. The visuals were so eye-catching, perfectly capturing the game-like theme as they went head-to-head in competition. Man! If they’re starting off this strong, we can’t even imagine how the rest of the MVs and tracks are going to hit! And as usual, if you liked what you saw here today and want more SKZ related contents earlier than others, contents like SKZ Code, Survival Show, Two Kids Room, SKZ night livestreams and more, then HOP on and join the party at http://patreon.com/handsomesausages !! :D Kpop producer and singer-songwriter react to SKZ CHANGBIN & I.N 'Burnin' Tires' (Music Video). Yeeeeaaaa my guys. Oh IN contributes a lot to this song. This song is absolutely amazing. It took a minute to grow on me. But it only took like maybe 2 hours of me listening to it repeatedly and I realized how much of a bop that shit was. It's so funky and groovy and just a vibe. I don't know why but Changbin stopping and looking back at IN was so attractive. He wasn't doing anything special. This second verse wild. The way IN came in took me out. The video matches the vibe of the song so freaking perfectly! It's amazing. I also really want to know if that person actually slipped or if that was originally a part of the video. Yeah, no, IN definitely won. The maknae always ones in this group. I don't know why y'all questioned that 🤣. See I thought it was both of them. I thought one was Changbin and one was IN that did the shouting in the beginning. IN ate up that second verse. D'some if anybody has been following y'all for as long as we have been we've come to understand when he uses the word wet. Technically? I don't understand what exactly it means because it's musical. It's instrumental or like producer wise but we're used to him using it. It doesn't surprise us anymore. See it's hilarious because all of stay immediately was like zoned into the caterpillar which is funny. But when he was doing the back and forth thing it made me laugh because it immediately made me think of that. TikTok trend of the cat on the Frozen Han River. Yes it was all new to see them in this style in this genre and everything and I enjoy it so much. When stray kids experiments with music and music videos 9.9999 out of 10 I love it! I absolutely love when you give us these Korean lessons. Because the 1234 we obviously would have never picked up on if we don't speak Korean, but that is absolutely adorable. Oh my gosh, no, the part that surprised me other than IN's rap was when Changbin was singing in that very very low register so low that I almost didn't hear it the first time I listened to the song like just listening to the song. It was amazing. YAAASSSS TORTOISE AND THE HARE MENTIONED! Absolutely amazing start. See ya in the next video 👋🏾👋🏾

Hazel

Such a fun song!

Þórunn Hilma Svavars

The contract in the chorus. The growling voice. And such a fun mv. Caterpillar piece is great.

This song driving is the best!!!!!!!! although you have to resist the urge to floor it (peddle to the metal) ... I love all these tracks ... this MV was so fun! Does the catapilla refer to anything that you know of or is it just a slow lonely little catapilla? ... someone asked me that today and I had no answer so throwing it out there

Rina

I think the caterpillar represent his unwillingness to step on someone to get ahead.

Estelle S

I love this song SEO MUCH!!!!! AHHHHHHH Okay, 2 things: 1) is this a rock song? I know you guys said they changed genres at some point but the bass and beat just reminds me of rock songs...? What genres were you guys reminded of. (sorry if you said this in the video and I missed it... lol) I can 100% see this song being blasted at a car show here in the States, lol! 2) I saw a theory on Insta yesterday how this MV is kind of going through their journey in the industry and I can't view the MV the same way since because it makes so much sense. Basically, CB & IN are competing with everyone like everyone else (at the beginning, they're going their own path, but keeping track of each other still), but when you see the caterpillar the first time, CB realizes that he doesn't want to step on anyone to win. He and IN (and SKZ) have competition within the group, but build up others. SKZ do their own thing and have fun with Stay (dance break) and they are still winning and creating amazing things and having fun all while encouraging others and not tearing them down. Kinda an industry commentary almost. This is a very very simplified version of what I saw (and I'm sure I missed stuff) so if anyone wants me to send it their way, let me know and I can send it to you via DM on Insta. :)

Estelle S

Oooh!! I saw a theory that said the MV is a commentary on the industry and the caterpillar might represent other groups in Kpop and Changbin realizes he doesn't want to step on others to win.

Raquel Dennis

I didn't know what to expect from the unveil, but this song and mv is AWESOME! So fast and really fun. They sounded great!

Sam w

For some reason I can't look away from bbokari with a halo in the background... perfect light placement for our angel!

Sam w

Also, for the mv, it was IN v Changbin for most of it, but when other runners came in it seems like they worked together to beat the others? So it ended up being those two won over the rest of the runners?

Ixaala

Maknae takes the trophy- feels like a nod to all the award shows where they have I.N take the trophy when they win together.

J.A. Moore

The MV is so much fun, and I love this new sound from Changbin and I.N !

Hypatia

Alongside what others have said, changbin has also said that he can't kill bugs, he doesn't like doing it. So it immediately made me think of that.

Hypatia

This music video was so much fun, i love the song and this was the perfect compliment to it.

Rina

This is sooo insane! Can't wait to see all the theories and the little details people picks up on, not only in the individual videos, but for the overarching themes throughout all of them. There are some interesting themes in the narrative for this one, that seems to come back to how they've been stuck in a system that is flawed or rigged, and where they are encouraged to fight by any means, but together they can break free and become stronger. They start out racing eachother, Changbin laughs when I.N falls behind in the beginning and they battle eachother dancing. When they overcome this and join forces, they can let all their competitors, who are still racing and stuck in the same old system, run past, while they just enjoy and play, take their time and does it their own way. They're in the car together laughing, same with the dance battle, where it seems as if the crowd is egging them on when they compete, but cheers when they dance together. They get their speeding ticket together, as well as their trophy (even if I.N holds it, as he always does when they win something - vut they get there together). And then they return to their lunch, coz it's just another day. There's a lot to be said of our new little caterpillar friend (who is featured on the skzoo intro for Chan and I.N's dorm, together with the fishies from the Escape unveil) as well. The most obvious being that Changbin is not willing to step on it to get ahead. He knows how someone small can become big if given a chance, they've proven that themselves. His principles doesn't allow him to take that chance from anyone else. But also, he doesn't need to. He's confident that they'll get there on their own merits, and there's no pride in it for him if he/they played dirty to win. You can link it to several previous tracks. Them being insingificant little ants on their own, but working diligently together and becoming giants as a result is a theme from Giant. They also have a song where they sing specifically about not needing to step on competition or haters because they're just bugs anyway. I can't for the life of me remember which one that was tho, and as the lyrics are translated, I can't really search for it either. It's fun with the word play of their laps around the worl, I would never have picked up on that one. But also, Dominate is their 3rd world tour, literally their 3rd lap around the world and they're not stopping. I can't wait for Truman next!!

Kat

Song reminds me of 90s superhero cartoon tv theme songs. So nostalgic

Foz Meadows

Love the song and the MV! And also the little detail of how, when I.N.'s holding the globe, Australia is facing forwards :)

J.A. Moore

I wonder if "Burnin' Tires" will be used as an OST on a video game, the same way "ITEM" was.

Zesti

That would be cool!

Lady Athena

This one is so fun.. 🤩 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
