Musicians react & analyze ♡ SEVENTEEN - Woozi's Destiny

How “We” Got a Chance to Listen to Woozi’s Voice Is Destiny Woozi’s “Destiny” is here. First of all, what a gift from Bumzu to Woozi. This song came into our hearts like destiny, delivered by Woozi’s beautifully angelic tone. Because the song was so comforting and moving, even though it was over four minutes long, it felt really short—like we didn’t want it to end. No words. Just a speechless voice and a beautiful piece. We know the next one will be Vernon’s “Shining Star”! Here comes the change, yeah! Like we say in the video, if you wish to have fun with our SEVENTEEN Marathon with other SVT contents like 'Game Caterers' and 'Going Seventeen', hop on and join the party at http://patreon.com/handsomesausages !! :D Kpop producer and singer-songwriter react to SEVENTEEN - Woozi's Destiny (Lyrics Video). I always love woozi’s solos! Aside from Ruby they’re not what you would expect from his persona but if you watch the dingo tipsy live it makes perfect sense, he’s sentimental at heart!

You guys should definitely watch their listening party, where all the members gathered to listen to each solo track, give their opinions and talk about the backstory for each song!!

This was from Bumzu's instagram post he posted on the release day of the album about the track: "사실 저는 제 작품이 발표될 때 코멘트를 남기는 편이 아닌데, 이 글은 꼭 남기고 싶어서 몇 달 전에 미리 써 두었습니다. Forever Seventeen." This just proves that the bond, not just between seventeen members but also with their closest colleagues and staff, is so so strong. It warms my heart that seventeen, who spread so much positivity and love are surrounded by many good people and are extremely loved as well.

Park Kitae is a veeery good guitarist. He's a part of SVT live band for concert. If you hear any powerful guitar in SVT songs, bet he'll be in the credits. Since the song is a gift from him and Bumzu, the guitar solo must be played by him. Destiny is so Woozi coded. It is rich with emotion, and so carefully thought. Just like how Woozi has always written his songs. As someone who loves SVT music deeply, this song is very special.

This solo is really meaningful to Woozi. He said that he always gifts and make songs for other people, but this is the first song he ever got as a gift. Bumzu and Woozi's friendship and partnership started before Seventeen ever debuted, when Buzmu was instructed to teach the members how to sing and he said he had nothing to teach Woozi, so he would teach him how to produce songs on GarageBand when Woozi asked him to. Woozi probably spends the most time with Bumzu outside of the members, and they work together on everything. It's a mentorship, friendship, a brotherhood, and a partnership. Bumzu wrote the song about Woozi's life from an outsider's (Bumzu's) perspective, and you can really learn a lot about it through it. Another person who worked on Destiny was Park Kitae, who is a musician that has a lot of credits on a lot of Seventeen's songs and worked with Woozi on producing since early days. He helped with the music for this song. Woozi said that when he recorded this song he turned off all the lights in the studio and sang in the dark. It's a beautiful song and with all the hard work Woozi put in for Seventeen, I think no one can argue that he deserved to have the longest song on the album.

this song was written and composed by bumzu and park kitae from prism filter, who have worked with woozi since debut, and so saw him grow up. this album's solo songs are all created around the theme of "나", aka "me/myself". they mention it in the album commentary as well (please watch it after all the album songs!!) but they also included 2 of woozi's popular composed songs in the lyrics - 소나기 for I.O.I, and 어떤 미래. i also really hope you give 어떤 미래 a listen as well eventually!

Some additional info & fun facts: -- BUMZU cleverly added two masterpieces of Woozi -- "소나기 /Downpour" (his gift to IOI) and "어떤 미래 /What Kind of Future" (his legendary solo song) -- Park GITAE-nim is our beloved guitarist & composer from Prismfilter. He did a lot of SVT songs' arrangement. -- Woozi said that this was the first song where he sung only the melody. You may have noticed how much he loves harmonies, vocal layers and choruses... but for this one, it really is just his melodic voice.

the only ballads i listen to are seventeen ballads. they have such a way with words and how to convey them. 'destiny' is truly the best way to describe woozi. bumzu and park kitae are such talented musicians, and i appreciate that they've stayed alongside SVT all this time. after you finish the album, i strongly recommend watching their listening session (in their yt channel) and if you have the time, to their 2020 "HIT THE ROAD" documentary (yt as well). you will understand why this song hits so hard. their video with NA PD provides more context as well: https://youtu.be/YKriEVUohAc?si=wGdzgBaIupg4PvsO

This is actually my fav track of the album (Thunder aside). I’m a sucker for touching lyrics and melancholic melody

I believe many people already recommend/request, but you guys will react on the Listening Party for this album, right? That is one of the best content from SVT, many members actually heard others' solos for the first time during that session, and they shared the background or meaning of their song. Cannot wait to watch it with you both soon! :)

Now this has nothing to do with Seventeen, but if u guys have time and the energy could you react to/anylase EXO's EXODUS album. Although u most probably know Call me baby from that album I feel like the whole album is such a banger and has a lot of hidden gems like Hurt and El Dorado. So if u want to do videos on another album or artist I highly recommend that one.

The way bumzu included 소나기 and 어껀 미래 in the lyrics though ❤️😭 U guys GOT TO, NO U NEED TO, NO U HAVE TO to check 어껀 미래 (what kind of future ) for sure. LINKS BELOW. That's his second single AND NOT IN ANY SVT ALBUM which he only sang twice. 1st and 2nd time on A SEVENTEEN concert/ tour and then later on bumzu's concert as a special performance. He mentioned on that show that 어껀 미래 was a song he produced to perform only once , but he was now performing it for the 3rdbtime already 😭. The song is deep, soo good. And someone later posted a clip from the seventeen concert, in their own sns post I believe and the song went trending in Korea for days after that. I think the 3rd performance on Bumzu's concert was after this. And He didn't release the song officially until very recently, apperently his late friend and ASTRO member MOONBIN (R. I. P) loved the song, and had previously even asked him when he would officially release it. So WOOZI released it on MOONBINs Birthday as a gift to him the following year after his passing. 1st (supposed to be the only performance originally) : https://youtu.be/9v-MOJvobPM?si=QQppVsdMDacaQw_W 3rd time at bumzus concert( with a small comment before starting): https://youtu.be/98xgWVaipo0?si=uaAyeEjsctx7w5ti

Words aren't enough to express how proud and thankful I am for Woozi's presence in seventeen. He deserves this gift from Bumzu and Park Kitae and he has worked so hard for so long. Thank you, our best producer 🩷 Vernon solo next!! We're taking another turn again in terms of vibes 😂

Magic Shop in SVT space

This is Bumzu’s post about this: Forever Seventeen. To be honest, I usually don’t leave comments when my work is released, but I really wanted to leave this one, so I wrote it a few months in advance. I joked that it was a revenge song for 'I dont Miss You', but in reality, it was a song I made while thinking a lot/deeply, as an Hyung to Jihoon about 'What would Jihoon's heart have been like for 10 years?' as a brother who spent almost every day with me for over ten years. I poured my heart into writing every line in the lyrics. Though I am lacking in many ways, I did my very best. I remember crying so much during the process, repeatedly writing and erasing over and over for a whole week. Kitae and I were so happy that we could present a tribute song to our younger brother, Woozi, the best producer and singer, and we are always grateful that Jihoon, who learned love from the first two people he met in his life, is still giving greater love to people. Forever Seventeen.
