The skz log they uploaded for stay week shows how they organized and filmed the street version mv themselves. Its meant to be watched before the mv trailer and release so you might want to check it out

They put out a behind the scenes video for the filming of 0801 for stayweek that’s also a skz log that you should definitely check out. I’m so excited for KARMA, the songs on the tracklist already feel so new. The mash-up is definitely one of the video releases that I look forward to the most each comeback, at some point I’m just gonna burn them all on a cd or something 😆

Correct about the hip-hip thing. In Australia after singing Happy birthday one member will shout hip-hip while the rest shout hooray three times. It was odd for me to realise other countries didn't do it when Aussies sang it for Lee Knows birthday when they were in Sydney and half the members had to have Chan explain it to them. <3

Hip hip hooray is a British/Australian thing and Bang Chan teased hip hip and Karma and Ceremony in London. The latest SKZ log will give you more info about 0801 .

Yeo we say "Hiphip Hiphip HOORAY" usually 3 times after singing happy birthday in Australia ... didn't realise that was not world wide until I lived overseas and kept singing ... got a lot of odd looks.

In case it does come out late, I actually suggested to them they wait on the SKZ log. I wish I had. It was basically watching the behind the scenes of the 0801 MV before the MV. I think I would have been anticipating the MV more if I hadn’t watched that log. 😂

Yeeessssss. I'm so happy that I'm finally caught up because I've been wanting to watch this but I wanted to watch everything in order. I agree. Hyunjin should definitely get some real piercings. The way I was so excited to see this trailer. And just everything that came with it, and also the way that I felt like a clown at the end with chan saying hip hip, because he had been saying that in concerts, for so long. Like this man has been playing in our face and we aint even know. It's such a throwback vibe that I wasn't expecting but I love it. So much an Hyunjin, with the flower pins in his hair is perfect. I love it so much. Yeah, it's the full music video that they shot themselves. I'm definitely happy that the street videos are back.

It’s just “hip hip” like “hip hip hooray” which is what they say in Australia after they sing Happy Birthday. One of the versions of the regular albums is “Hooray.” It’s been a spoiler of sorts throughout the tour.

If you go back through the KARMA trailer video, you will notice that every member is wearing some kind of animal print. It could be a scarf, a shirt, a pair of shorts, etc.....but each one has an animal print somewhere on whatever they're wearing. I've seen fan speculation that those are an Easter egg about the unit songs. The theory is that if you group the different animal prints, LIKE with LIKE, you will see who's in which unit. So the ones with zebra stripes are one unit......the ones with leopard spots are one unit......etc. I guess we'll see! ALSO....... Another Easter egg: Now that the track list has been released, if you go back through the KARMA trailer video, you will see at least one of the song titles hidden throughout in different scenes. The one I saw for sure hidden here and there is the title track, "Ceremony." ALSO also...... You will also see various names on the walls in Changbin's scene with the boxing bag. There's speculation that the names represent future collabs (like Tablo's name was hidden on the crossword puzzle in the Megaverse video). One of the names is "Jackson." The only person by that name that I could see doing a collab would be Jackson Wang......? Maybe? And lastly..... I want one of those coins!!

Just a little thought I’ve been having as Karma is coming out - not trying to kill the hype, I’m excited too! I always wonder how far they can keep going with their music. Every new release is described as their biggest or best, which I get is part of the excitement, but it makes me curious whether the next album will ever top songs like Miroh, Topline, or Chk Chk Boom etc. for me. Those tracks just hit differently, and I find myself coming back to them a lot. Wondering if anyone else feels the same.

It is in a lot of places but it’s basically a part of “Happy Birthday” there. Like they use it more consistently for one specific thing if that makes sense.

As a musician myself, I can say that they have a billion more things to explore. There are so many genres and sounds out there that they can play with. And I don't think they ever look to "top" their songs...they just want to explore a new direction and make it good. They can keep doing that to infinity because they are not bound to one genre, etc. Also, your choices for iconic/top songs are different from mine. That's just personal taste. :)

The video on the 14th is probably the mashup, that's the general order they've followed in the past, and the two MV teasers will be for Ceremony, the other videos can be a lot of things, like unveils for the other songs, ppl have even theorized /maybe/ unit songs on this album, and then the last one before the drop is usually the intro video. That puts us at 5 potential unveils for b-sides that aren't 0801, which is kinda crazy.

"Hip, hip" before the Hooray.. is used in the Nordics as well, at least in Sweden, when celebrating birthdays. Hyunjin's really the MVP in the making of the 0801 MV. The making film is so wholesome and hilarious.

Australian point of information: the "hip hip" comes after we finish singing happy birthday, and is followed by "hooray!" It's always a call and response, too - one person says "hip hip!" and the rest of the party yells "hooray!", which traditionally happens three times, getting louder each time. So given that the song is named Celebration, I wonder if the intent will be at concerts for the audience to finish the phrase with a call and response - and if so, whether the idea will be to yell "stay!" rather than "hooray!", as they rhyme!

Hip hip hooray is a sort of chant after happy birthday but it's also a call and response chant, so the person leading the ceremonies (or in more modern day who initiates the hbd song) calls 'hip hip' and the crowd answer 'hooray' three times. Historically it's celebratory but also rousing to kind of get people hyped and cheer for a success or birthday as it's used modern day. I remember there was a clip from a year or more ago at an Australian concert I think where they'd sung happy birthday and Chan did the hiphip and the crowd answer hooray and the Korean members were surprised and confused whilst Chan tried to explain it to them. So I think the song also suggests it as a call to the listener. I'm excited to see how it's used in the song.

yes! they showed storyboard and filming of plenty scenes that weren’t shown in the teaser (like seungmin's dirt scene, or i.n's swing one, or felix going around the house) so for sure well get the full MV

I think it's just personal preference to think those songs are best because there are definitely people who prefer other songs over those. I think nostalgia is also a huge part of it. People love/miss the times they were young, cute, wild teenagers, or maybe fans gravitate towards the era they got into skz. It's like tv shows... was FRIENDS the best show ever made? no, not at all, but I watched it so much as a kid its one of my favorites of all time. I think skz have been in the game long enough that they want to try different songs and genres. Maybe they even have burnout from writing constant hype and out-of-the-box songs. Before, they did 'crazy' songs so they'll stand out, but they missed out on doing the more easy listening songs that literally every single other group makes. Now that they feel more secure in their status, they may want to try making those too. And tbh those easy listening songs are the reason why other groups are so popular. Skz sound is very niche, they make whatever they like and there's only so many people out there who like their style. compared to other groups, like bts, who's music is literally made for the masses, there's only so many listeners (not in a bad way, just their branding technique to get as popular as possible)

You guys should check the SKZlog 2025 asap before coming through all pre realeased stuff. Since the log really builds the vibe and the mood of "comback soon" for stays and a short skz looking back at their journey recnetly till now. It will tension you up with expectation also at the same time calm your feeling with their heartfelt talk.

I think what’s been bothering me most is probably the marketing. The whole “this is our best album/song” thing always leaves me wondering 'will this actually feel better than the last one for me?' And I know that’s partly just sentimental attachment, I really connect with that loud, EDM-heavy sound from songs like Miroh, since that’s what I grew up on. Also, I’ve been sick for like two weeks straight, so I’m sure that low mood’s reflecting in how I word things, lol. But yeah, your takes made me reflect a bit more, and I appreciate that.

This! In Australia, they did it for LeeKnow's bday. And they've been doing 'Hip Hip ...' and having us reply with 'Hooray' all through the Europe leg. At London D1, they decided to sing the bday song, as they were "sure there must be Stay in the crowd with a birthday today" and ended it once again with 'Hip Hip' and had us reply 'Hurray'. An observation that made me giggle a bit (as someone who was in the crowd both days); the teaser had already dropped by the time of the Rome concert and the crowd stopped replying 'Hurray' in favour of chanting 'Hip Hip' with them and leaving the empty space empty, even after being drilled in tradition. Now, I'm not familiar with if it's tradition in Italy, but it is in large parts of Europe, including Scandinavia where I'm at. One of the album versions are also named the 'Hooray' version.
