Ohhhh what a fine day to start a new series everyone :)

We didn't mention this in the poll, but the tradition here at HS community is to make the first episode of select series born of a poll available for both tier 2 and 3 (since the poll is accessible for tier 2 as well)

So here we all are, to enjoy this amazing series together :D

As we discuss in the vid, we decided to react to OFD first because it seemed like the best call, all things considered. So our plan for now is to react to OFD, and then get to Nana tour, unless you want us to react to the second season of OFD as well, in which case, we'll do that too before getting to Nana Tour! :D

even though i was excited for nana tour, im equally as excited to go on the ofd journey with both of you as i’ve never watched the series even after being a carat for awhile :p

I don't want to spoil but you guys will for sure understand that why Nana Tour is so rewarding to watch after this. There will be some games but mostly is totally castaway for sure. I would suggest that you can circle back to OFD season 2 later on. After OFD I would personally suggest In The Soop 1 and 2 and then go for Nana Tour and Nana Bnb. But yeah let's get to that later, I am sure you guys will enjoy OFD very much I am super excited for this journey!!!!!

Will come back to comment fully after watching, but thank you for planning Nana Tour right after this and not going full chronological order! I think it'll be a fun contrast jumping from old to new(er). I was a bit worried if OFD won that you'd end up watching everything else first like some of the comments recommended (which obviously is not the end of the world but with so many of us rooting for Nana Tour I'm glad we won't have to wait too much longer). May I suggest full chaos mode after Nana Tour by then reacting to In The Soop, then looping back around to OFD S2/Nana BNB/ITS S2? I think it could be fun, I'm sure others will comment if they disagree, just wanted to throw the idea out there!

yeayy i'm glad we start with OFD! i love that you guys started with this, because it's SVT's very first (non-healing?) variety show. it's gonna be very interesting when you see Nana Tour later, coz of the stark difference lol. they grew so much 🫠 yes, OFD have 2 seasons, 13 Castaway Boys and OFD in Japan. OFD is truly precious for me, since it was how SVT start as the 'variety idol' we know today. we can see why they are very appreciative of everything they have now, considering THIS is what they experienced when they were rookies.

ONE FINE DAY!!! It's time!!! OFD and OFD Japan are I think actually inherently needed for Nana Tour, BECAUSE they got tricked about this being "a relaxation show". Not to spoil TOO MUCH, but when Seventeen re-signed their contract they even added a clause that said "must work with the artist' consent" and that you can't force them to go anywhere if they say they don't want to. And OFD has ICONIC moments that are important for later! And the format is kind of "we will give you the bare minimum, do what you must to survive through games and resourcefulness". I'm really excited for this series, but I do admit that the way survival shows were conducted back then irks me. Dino wasn't even 17 back then, and they had basically no food freely given to them. Dino also had no underwear, which is a whole different kind of worrying. I think Nana Tour can come after OFD and OFD Japan. It's probably fine for baby Carats too, but the enjoyment WAS higher for me when I understood everything (I also watched Nana Tour before OFD) on my second rewatch after watching stuff like OFD, In The SOOP, and Going Seventeen. The way the Na PD team works is that they really research the group thoroughly, all the memes and the content, they watch a bunch of lives and shows so they can make games and content relating to the group they're working with. The more knowledge you have about Seventeen, the more you can enjoy Nana Tour without having the feeling of "am I missing something?" And lastly, I think it's really funny that even you guys had no idea where Yeoseodo is. They're literally in the middle of nowhere.

Ok, back with a few more thoughts after watching! This will probably be an unpopular opinion but I think OFD remains my least favourite longer form SVT content. I'm glad they had an opportunity to be on a show this early on in their career, but I think it's a combo of the editing style itself, and as someone else mentioned/you commented in the episode itself, I don't love when withholding food is used in a show. They're 16-20 (international age) here, and rookie era is already such a demanding time, especially with SVT being from a smaller company, it just feels more like hazing than entertainment to me. At least on the Game Caterers when they had zero food it's because the members themselves wagered on the guaranteed food they were supposed to have, and they were all adults, and it was only a single day shoot. Finally, I don't want to be too repetitive since this was already addressed in the poll itself but the idea that you need to watch certain content in order to appreciate later content is such a subjective opinion and truly will differ from person to person. Anyway, will enjoy watching along with you to see your take on OFD, and keep my fingers crossed for Nana Tour next!

I was fully on the chronological order camp because I think it's fun watching them through the years but I have to agree that OFD > NANA > ITS then going for another round for the second seasons would be fun too. The viewing experience of watching rookie Seventeen chaos (OFD) followed by established Seventeen chaos (NANA) with chill Seventeen (ITS) for palate cleanser. Amazing suggestion!

I’m so happy that you guys are watching this first and then moving on to NANA Tour!!!!!! One thing I want to point out is that this is one of the reasons why Seventeen has never really had a typical “idol image.” If you look at other idol groups, you’ll often see their staff carefully protecting and maintaining that image. But when it comes to Seventeen, that kind of polished idol persona doesn’t really exist. Another thing you’ll come to understand is why Seventeen seems to have trust issues when it comes to variety shows. Especially early on, you’ll notice this very clearly in NANA Tour, (there’s a few comments, you’ll know when you watch it, cause i dont want to spoil anything)

SVT 13 Castaways' format was different from the usual One Fine Day... I only watched the OFD with Girl's Day but, based on that, the format was relaxing, luxurious trip with missions/games, which is similar with the SVT OFD in Japan.

Without spoiling anything, I’d say that One Fine Day is a bit bittersweet. They had just debuted and were so excited about going on a trip, but it turned out completely different from what they expected. At times, the way things played out felt a little harsh, but I guess it just made them stronger. That said, it’s also really funny. I can’t get over how they were like, “Mingyu is going to build the house, cook, clean, and find food,”😭😭 as if they couldn’t survive without him, which honestly is true😂😂😂 I guess that’s why Mingyu is Scoups’ number one pick.

yess!! OFD is here! being confused is understandable but you'll soon see why most of us suggested for you to watch this 1st before the others. this show was the foundation of them being good with whatever they're good at right now esp when it comes to them cooking/ handling things on their own and yes, the boys have been through a lot during their predebut days that they know more when or when not to complain when it comes to what to watch next after this, I'd still suggest OFD Japan coz that season shows more of how their bond has become more stable, how & why they're open with each other. you'll know when you watch it but then again it would still depend on what you actually want to watch. you can still circle back to the others whenever you want thank you for choosing this as the 1st one to watch! 🩵

Yay!! I love that you’re doing it in time order. It’s best to watch one fine day first and then the rest because you really get to see how they live together. When you go to in the soop, nana tour and nana bnb which are all VERY recent you’ll see there’s still so many similarities in dynamics.

I voted for Nana tour, but dont mind watching OFD! However, I have to admit, that OFD is something I dont go back to. The last time I tried I just got so mad at the producers and felt so bad for svt, that I just didn’t want to watch anymore. As for OFD japan, I dont think it’s necessary to watch it before nana tour. I had watched OFD japan I years before nana tour came out and couldn’t remember anything that happened in that show tbh… and I still enjoyed nana tour 100% (I also just rlly wanna watch nana tour again)

OMG I am so glad you started with this, OFD both seasons are so important to see how SVT work together, no matter what is thrown at them from their own staff or profuctions teams on other shows they know how to survive, its a hard learned lesson but worth it to know how they tackle it all. This is also the start of introduction to the inital chef line (Mingyu, DK, Jun), but by now as you know apart from like 2-3 members they can all cook (cuisines vary of course). This show references always come up in other content, and shows why no matter whats happening SVT just accept and try and figure out ways out of any situation that comes their way. In Game Caterers SVT actually won the show Youth over Flowers, which has similar concept of earn your stay and food etc, but Na PD and his team said on their instagram that they have watched SVT in many reality/variety shows and seen that they always been put to a test and having to overcome it, and that their journey as idols and their hardwork through it all, led to abig change for the show, they said thats why they wanted to do the opposite of Youth over Flowers, and created a new show just for SVT, which is called NANA Tour, so that they can spoil them and let them have not worry the same way as they have in the past shows on different platform (You will see in Nana tour that Scoups still worries depite reassurances from Na PD, because of these past expericnes they have had, they definitely ended up having trust issues with productions teams, and is also why they are now so close and comfortable with NA Pd and his team and have done many shows together). Na PD and team wrote that they wanted to gift them a luxurious trip, thats why seeing OFD S1 and OFD S2, is important for your journey as a Carat. Thank you so much for starting this.

This is so fun! Such a blast from the past and they're so babie here. I really feel bad for rookie seventeen being forced into the trip without anything when they were so excited packing for it 😭😭 but it really is a show i really appreciate and shows seventeen's teamwork turning into what it is today (but 🍅 to PD team for dashing expectations anyway). Can't wait for you to see the rest of it!! also yay nana tour next!
