There is a REASON Don't Lie series is considered a LEGEND when it comes to Going Seventeen. And Going Seventeen is already legendary amongst other idol contents. So...you see where I'm going with this?

GOATED EPISODE LET'S GO.

Also, this episode just cannot be explained. You have to witness it to believe. To understand. To follow. To become a member of GoSe Cult.

I WILL say, probably the most insane one out of three for us :D

This was peak content.

With that, the usual stuff :)

~22:18: Just to elaborate, this comes from an old saying, "putting a spoon on a fully set table", which means to take credit for smth you didn't do, or to ride on someone's coattails. Since squid jeotgal is one form of a side dish, SK is just changing up the og expression in a comedic way to still mean the same thing :D

~30:45: while disappointing is part of the correct definition for the word used here, in this context, it'd be better to look at it as "I feel hurt (specifically because of what YOU did; so I feel rather disappointed in YOU)", which is perfect with how Hoshi's acting here XD

~40:42: This is an extremely famous meme in Korea to a point where just saying "there are two ways to piss someone off" is enough. Everyone will get it. XD But yeh, the full phrase, again, is, "There are two ways to piss someone off. First is to stop talking mid sentence,..." which is a thing that applies the first way in itself to piss you off XD Kinda worked cuz DK was being a troll here to Wonwoo.

Andddd that should do :D

Only one thing to say here: SCOUPS MVP.

ENJOY <3

Just as a fun fact for you guys, this episode was shot before the island raiders episode and that was the reason Scoups was following Jeonghan around like a lost puppy. It was big thing for Jeonghan because he might cheat but he never betrays his teammates and Jeonghan holds grudges 😂😂

Cipher

finally at the episode that caused jeonghan to breakdown & sent caratland into chaos 😁 as you've watched on the 1st ep of OFD, jeonghan holding grudges isn't easy & he did hold a grudge against scoups here. he has mentioned in his weverse live that scoups' betrayal caused him to breakdown that's why he couldn't say anything at all. scoups paid for his betrayal deeply tho after this 😂

YOOOO Dont Lie legendary season 3!!! I was really trying to figure out who the mafia was during my first watch of this; the twist was so unexpected. There are sooo many iconic scenes like Mingyu getting his revenge and finding the money, Coups' double crossing, Dino cutely making a fool of himself (poor dino lol), and I could watch them banter about who the mafia is all day, seriously. I've been waiting for your reaction all week and im glad u enjoyed it. They actually reference this episode sometimes in future eps and shows lolll. Heads up that the next Dont Lie will be in season 2023 still, but i *cant wait* for you to get to it. It's my favorite out of the Dont Lie series The next episode is super underrated but i love it. Sadly, only a one parter but Im so excited nonetheless <333

26:40-27:30 Oh, is it just me, or is D-Some and Han-C's audio off in this section? I can see them laugh and say stuff, but I cannot hear anything. (idk if its just me tho)

I agree with your thoughts on dont lie as an introductory series! I think it's a good recommendation for new carats/casual fans, but the enjoyment and appreciation level would probably only be at 50%. But if you know the members it's like 110%. But tbh on my first watch of the series I was still trying to figure out the rules 😂 And you need to get used to the members' fast talking and overlapping especially when you're reading subs. Still, I came to love Dont Lie after a few rewatches! So what episodes would be good recommendations to non- or new carats? Off the top of my head, Tribal Games or Best Friends (but you havent watched those). Among those you watched so far, I'm also throwing in The Tag and Christmas in August

fn

I would recommend GoSe episode "Best Friends" to my non carat friends. We can see how they are just a group of boys playing and having fun

Handsome Sausages

Huh... true. That's weird, because the audio is there in my project file... We were mostly laughing so hard and talking about how much we love that Dino takes every joke so well. Sorry for the inconvenience!

grapefruit

i think i would recommend The Tag for a non-Carat! coz i actually started with it and i enjoyed it very much 😆

Priyanka Banerjee

Ah, thanks thanks for the info, hehe. And no issues at all. It's anyway a short duration. Not even a minute. Thank you~

Dont Lie 3 is so legendary. Hoshi's laugh-cry, Coups's Police is citizen's side, DK's I brushed my teeth, Wonwoo's 내 감 뭐야 ㅋㅋㅋㅋ, Dino chosing himself, Hannies 약사, Woozi getting annoyed hahhaa. SO much happens hehe. Tho in the end we can see cold vibes between Jeonghan and Coups lol hahaha. Also, now that I am a carat idk which GoSe I would show a non-carat. But when I was a non-carat, the 2 gose eps my sis showed me was Horror Tag and Christmas in August. I didn't know the members but enjoyed it tho haha. But I did revisit them again after knowing the members ^^

The MVP for me is Dino. You gotta respect how hard he worked for nothing. My runner-up has to be Mingyu, HE FINALLY WON AGAINST HOSHI! And something really funny is that Scoups paid for that betrayal against Jeonghan dearly. He had to regain his trust for MONTHS later and Jeonghan even did a live when the episodes came out and said how his mentality completely broke when Scoups betrayed him and couldn't even think later. The episode I always recommend to newcomers is TTT, no matter the year but I usually choose 2020. TTT is like them at their natural habitat, makeup off but chaos ON. NEXT episode I think you're gonna really like, if you liked Carnival!

Don't Lie!!! Yes, there are more episodes thankfully, and somehow the staff continue to one-up themselves when it comes to adding fun twists. I'm curious about their decision in this episode, with the staff acting as the mafia why they didn't still select someone to die during the night-time. I feel like the way they played it, it was more realistic to say there was no mafia at all since the staff really didn't do anything, and it would've been so fun to see the members' reactions to random people being killed off each round! I feel so bad for Dino, they really did him so dirty as the doctor! And the way the members kept shushing him or cutting him off, I know it's for the bit but it's a unique maknae/hyung dynamic you don't really see often. I think my MVP for this episode is Mingyu, in all the chaos he played well, found the money, managed not to be killed off, and knocked out Hoshi early on like he wanted. Maybe not the most entertaining gameplay, but solid nonetheless! As for your other question, I even scrolled through the episodes quickly but nothing really popped out for what I would recommend first. I think because what people find entertaining is so subjective, it would very much change from person to person. So I would just tell people to start with what they're curious about/what stands out to them. Even if it means missing certain inside jokes or not seeing their development/growth chronologically, there's just as much fun in going back and filling in the gaps later and seeing where different things originated. I think it takes a lot of fun out of what should be entertaining if you're stressed about watching things in the "right" way, like if you tell someone they have to watch A in order to appreciate B, they might be more focused on catching/remembering all the details because they might be important, versus just watching for enjoyment.

This Don't Lie episode is iconic and I feel bad for Dino even as I am laughing at him. The editor who put that sound effect when Dino was pointing at himself was my MVP of this ep 🤣🤣 Also with Don't lie each rendition keeps outdoing the last one can't wait till you see some of the craziest mafia game moments ever. I would recommend TTT Hyperrealism (and TTT2021 too) as a chill fun travel show and their drunken antics are enjoyable even if you don't know the members, the horror specials, 출발 세븐틴 and other athletic ep, boo seungkwan's old variety show series are all pretty fun for casuals or new carats and rewatching once you know them is a whole different experience. Also yaaaay the next ep is probably my personal most rewatched GoSe episode ever HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA(continues laughter upto next week)

bookworm👀🐛

My MVPs for this ep are S.Coups (for obvious reasons) and Wonwoo because he was the first one to guess (at least out loud) that there's no Mafia this time. The episode I would suggest to a non carat would probably be "The Guest Who Left Secretly" just because I watched it long time ago before becoming a carat (just because I saw some clips of it somewhere and got curious) and I remember really enjoying it even though I don't think I knew really anything about them at that point.

Fay

This is still my top don’t lie episode because the whole game was essentially pointless and watching them go SOOO hard to suspect each other, and the doctor thinking he’s the most amazing character in the game when no one was even getting murdered is so hilarious😭😭 you’d think mafia would become repetitive but the production team just kills it every time

Fay

DK being a dude kisser is so funny because he will literally try to kiss everyone but there’s clips of him getting so flustered when someone tries to do it back to him😂

Well regarding your question of recommending GOSE episode I fell like any episode even from 2019 too would be okay GOSE actually has its own fandom they are called Cubics (fans who are only fans of GOSE and not SVT music) so GOSE I feel like has always been the it show as a funny variety show. But still if I had to choose from 2020-21 I would go with Four Wheel Rider or 2020 TTT

dav

Oh no jeonghan coups drama came to action🥹🥹🥹 jeonghan was so sulky after that he even mentioned it several times on weverse live😭😭

tim

For non Carats, I would suggest Seungkwan series, Debate Night, all school/playground/sport/games series

Fi

Don't lie is my entrance gate to stanning seventeen full time back in 2020 HAHA my friend convinced me to watch the first don't lie, and back then I only knew a handful of the members' names. One watch and then I was GONE.

Eiyel

the next episode is one of my personal fav actually ❤️

Thats why Scoups was with Jeonghan the whole time in the raiders episode lol he was trying to make up to him, Jeonghan looked so shocked at the end becuase Jeonghan has said in his lives that he trusted Scoups fully, and thought that the one person who wouldnt betray him in games was Scoups, hence why he wasnt hiding anything from him throughout the whole episode. Jeonghan spoke about this in many lives after this, that he was upset for ages, and that his brain scrambled and stopped working in the moment after the betrayal, he said thats why he couldnt even think of any ideas to bring the game back lol. Seungcheol definitely kept working hard to get back in his good graces for many months after lol. For me Seungcheol was definitely the MVP. It is interesting to see Jeonghan and Seungcheol go up against each other and Jeonghan's blind trust in him led to his downfall lol. Usually members dont want them in one team together becasue they know it will mean a win for them everytime lol
