The legendary HALA HALA is here, both the MV and the bts from The Record.

Yes, we're rewatching the MV cuz it's Hala Hala. You know what's up :D

Couldn't believe our eyes when we first watched Hala Hala like 3 years ago, but rewatching it now makes us appreciate it and be impressed for a different reason—mainly that this was in their rookie era and it doesn't feel rookie AT ALL. If anything, the opposite.

Anyways, another GREAT episode that got us talking about lots of diff things :)

Next time, we're gon wrap up The Record by checking out the remaining 4 or so eps, so do let us know if you have recs for shows / vids we can check out after The Record :D We'll likely ask again next time, but I guess it's a great time to start thinking about it! We'll do so too.

Aight. We hope you enjoy, and we'll talk more about it in the comments :D

I don't know if you still have the ATEEZ masterlist, but if not, here's the link! https://docs.google.com/document/d/1kpV58mHm4QfAWYWZA_dsGVX5KC106gMwEa4g4N2Yn5k/edit?usp=drivesdk I'd love for you to watch ATEEZ WANTED and ATEEZ WANTED SPECIAL. They were basically ATEEZ's first self-produced variety shows before WANTEEZ. The first season was filmed when they were still rookies, and then they came back a few years later with WANTED SPECIAL. Both series are available on ATEEZ's official YouTube channel, so they're easy to watch. It's such a fun series, but I feel like it's really underrated compared to some of their other content. I'd love to see your reactions to it because there are so many hilarious moments, and it's a great way to see how the members interacted early in their careers and how they've grown over the years. I think you'd have a lot of fun watching it!

Fun fact: when I first checked out your Ateez playlist on YouTube, your reaction to Hala Hala is what made me stay. D-Some, you were so shocked about when it was released and you said something like "now we have to start from scratch" and I cheered so much 🤣 Edit: I'd love to see you react to HS for sure. Especially because of the above statement

Hala Hala is one of the more iconic songs that comes to mind for me when it comes to Ateez' discography, it's such a strong, identifying track for them, and coming so early in their career it's especially impressive. I do miss this type of sound from them, those songs that when you hear them immediately you know it's Ateez even without hearing their voices. Not to say I haven't enjoyed some of their more recent songs (Bad is getting lots of airtime from me lately) but I would argue it's not as unique of a sound to Ateez. I'm happy that they're exploring/experimenting with new sounds they've wanted to try out, but still feeling a bit sad that they have drifted away from the genres/sounds I fell in love with from them initially. For what to tackle next, I'd vote for either checking out anything music/performance related from GH5 (music shows, dance practice, recording behind, etc.), OR my other recommendation (which I may have brought up once or twice...or thrice XD), would be to check out their Kingdom performance behinds (potentially rewatching the performances to refresh your memory as well). Really enjoyed when you watched the SKZ Kingdom behinds, and would love to see your reactions to the ATZ ones as well!

I know we have been saying this for a few videos, but I will say it again. If you like the layout of The Record check out the LOG Videos. They are edited similarly and sometimes include vacation Guerrilla Logs which can be really cute.

Yes! I second this recommendation!

It is largely thanks to this video performance that I love "Hala Hala" so much. To me, this music video is perfect for the song—far more so than any other visuals that could have been filmed. The black, white, and red color scheme, the camera movements, and of course the fact that they are dressed identically and masked—all of this allows the focus to remain on the incredible choreography that brings the music to life. As for me, "Hala Hala" (along with "Answer") is the track that made me fall for Ateez, even though I only discovered them in early 2023.

It's true that with the Kingdom behind-the-scenes footage, you learn a lot about their way of working and realize just how hard they worked for this show.

HS reacting to HS sounds fun! I don't listen to KPOP but randomly found ATEEZ between comebacks in early 2022 (between Don't Stop and Rocky) and fell in love. When they announced BREAK THE WALL tour the nearest stop was like 1000 miles from me but I was determined to go for two major reasons: It was Hongjoong's birthday (my bias) AND "I NEED to see them perform HALA HALA while they're still young enough to do it." Thank goodness I went because it hasn't been on a tour set list since. When they performed it my mind was both enjoying it and also a bit frozen thinking "OMG I'm actually seeing HALA HALA with my eyeballs" and thinking it was such a special moment. I'm not sure I'll ever forget that.

I agree with checking out the Kingdom behind-the-scenes content! The amount of hard work they put into their performances and how ridiculously busy they were at the time. It's understandable the love/hate relationship Atiny have for that show.
