It’s crazy how they start off so strong with “Friend” and still manage to carry on the same vibe we got from “Singasong” throughout the rest of the tracks! We got some nostalgia-fueled vibes, some club and festival vibes, great messages, and amazing music all around! At the end, we also shared our final verdict on the album. Darn, will have to save this until I get home from work, but very excited to watch!! This album has been one of my favourite recent releases amongst the different groups I listen to, so I'm very curious to hear your takes on the rests of the tracks.

I think art is proven successful when you can infer the artist' intentions without being told what they were. As someone who watched the behind the scenes videos on how V8 wrote and recorded the album, I was really impressed that what D'some said and interpreted from the album was almost 1:1 what they were going for. I think the analysis of how they both view things objectively is also fairly accurate as well as interesting. Vernon admitted that Minghao really pushed him to go after what he wanted for this album and not just go with the flow, and their sounds really showed as a result. My top three songs would have to be Beat, Singasong, and Mia - I think it might be fair to say EDM is not exactly my style (even though I enjoy it) but at the same time the early 2010s were the era where I was probably exposed to the most different music genres I ever did, and it shapes my tastes to the point I gravitate to anything that reminds me of 2015. Singasong really gives off the Calvin (Kalvin?) Harris (?) vibe that was strong around that time. So does the outro in Rat Race. And Beat just captivated me with the strong sound. BTW, one of the versions of the physical albums was called Rat Nest!

Favourite song is so hard for this album ahhhhhh. But if I HAD to pick a song right now its gotta be Girlsnboys. It is one of my favourite songs to bump in the car these days! Otherwise, though, if I had to choose other, it'd probably be Rat Race and Sing a Song with an honourable mention for colouring.

my top 3 is beat, singasong, and coloring! rat race was actually a potential candidate for the title track of this album - the company wanted rat race as the title, but vernon and the8 pushed for singasong to be the title track! they performed both songs for live stages too, which i hope you check out in the future!

If I have to choose my favourites right now are Friend and girlsandboys. Still I want to give a special shoutout to colouring too. It wasn't my favourite at first but now I would put in third place. I hope you have been able to check the lyrics, specially for the8 solo part, as they really elevated this song for me. Knowing you,I have faith that you will react to many v8 variety shows after Nana tour. I adore them both so much and my admiration for them is so high. The behinds are great and I think you'd enjoy them so much, but if you can't check them for now I would also recommend the8's tea8 where he has tea and talks to Vernon+their weird (and amazing) promotion self interviews in the sauna, driving,etc. Sigh... I miss Vernon so much already.

Top 3 songs for me are singasong, mia, and colouring in no particular order. Not surprising since I tend to like bright Seventeen songs the most. Lyrically, Friend and colouring are the most interesting to me. If you circle back to v8 variety content in the future, I'd recommend checking out their podcast episode with STAN:A. Besides the official behind content it's the most they talk about the album itself during their promotions, including creative intention and fun stories. They also have Hyell's club and Salon Drip episodes.

Thank you! This was fun! I surprisingly liked the album so so much hehe! I'm more into ballads but I liked this a lot. My top 3 would be ratrace, singasong, beat! And for the 4 for songs here they all also pretty good! As I said I really love ratrace hehe its my fav on the album! I will try to go back and check out the mouse sounds HanC mentioned. I missed it haha. Tho the live performance for this had a cage on the stage. My other fav beat. I really like the beat and the drop in the song!! For friend, yes the start was The8. It's a clip from his childhood and if I'm not wrong it was Vernon's idea to add it! I could find this short on it (https://youtube.com/shorts/8Uc_5jKI1I8?si=uOwKTv17WHNSH11G) Also Coloring! I didn't know its what caller tune is called in Korea! I also have it in India! I currently have God of light music as my caller tune lololol. Thank you again! It was funnn!

And that's a wrap (for now) on V8! (Unless you do check out some of their behinds/variety appearances, if others haven't already I'll link at some point) I said this earlier, but this album was a really strong one for me, especially compared with other recent releases I've listened to, or other Seventeen sub-units. I LOVE that they maintained more similar sounds/genres across the album, it felt so cohesive and I love when songs on an album share some kind of connection like that. Stick with me while I digress a bit, but it hit me while listening that I was just saying on the This & That album reaction that EDM typically isn't a genre I prefer/like at all, but even the more EDM songs on this album I really liked, so I guess it really is a case by case basis. Obviously EDM is huge genre with a whole range of styles/sounds, so I might also just prefer some of those styles. This is where my knowledge of musical genres in general fails me, so I'm not sure what makes these V8 songs different from other styles of EDM that I don't vibe with (such as some of the more recent EDM tracks SKZ have done). As for my favourite track(s), I think I still have to stick with mia, and then girlsnboys. Friend has been growing more on me though, along with rat race. More than individual tracks though, I think the album stands out as a whole to me in how impressive it is, it's a rare no-skip album for me! I'd rate this album higher than a lot of other albums, but I have a lot of songs I much prefer over any of the songs here, if that makes sense? Now for the really fun stuff, links! Oh thank you for this reaction! This was MY album of the summer, hyperpop soooo well done and I thought their tones were VERY good and nice to listen to! Top 3 for me would be Friend, Coloring and rat race BUT if rat race was longer it would 100% have been my first pick!

I'm really happy Vernon got to put out this album before he enlisted, and with Minghao too 🥺 Their art and style are really unique, and the songs are pretty much a reflection of their personalities. My top 3 right now in no order are mia, rat race and singasong!! They're so addictive and fun to listen to

Yay! Thanks so much for reacting to V8 album! Most of the songs give me so much nostalgia and brought me to early and post 2010's music. Very close to the music I vibe with. Like Beat reminded me a bit of Far East Movement. Cause of the sample used in parts of the song. Yay i was waiting for this! :) But i was kind of hoping, you were using lyrics videos, they also translate the Chinese lyrics. I hope for Picheolin/Dino you will use lyric videos, i think there are a lot of lyrics that could need some explaining and i'm looking forward to it! My top 3 songs are girlsnboys, rat race and singasong. Girlsnboys was on repeat for me for like three weeks :D

Alsooo I love their promotions/concerts for this album. They held a proper listening party in a club for their launch. And Hao has been DJing in all their concerts too (while Vernon rides around on a scooter 😭). It has been so much fun to see them have so much fun with experimenting and Dj-ing. Truly unique artists who love their art.
