I love this song and this cover feels like a totally different song that I also get to love. I’m really excited for when you really get into their own songs to hear what you think and for the wild ride Deadlock took us all on.

I LOVE (G)I-DLE and I was THRILLED with this cover. It’s so good! There’s so much to talk about, but my jaw-drop moment the first time I heard it was when Jooyeon pulls out those crazy rock vocals on the second chorus. Not to sound like “I’m not like other girls (gross),”, but some women aren’t super stoked when men cover “Tomboy,” and I can see their viewpoint if it’s done in a way that’s disrespectful to the source material, but this cover so very clearly adores the source material. Idk, I feel like, to make that many effective and amazing changes, you need to have studied the original thoroughly. Even the little touches, like you said, bringing out the megaphone to get that vocal effect, were there. It was like a love letter to the original and it went hard. One of my favorite covers they’ve done is Drown by Bring Me The Horizon I used to listen to that song a lot in like my first or second year of college and hearing them cover it and do so well and have their own style with it was so nice and refreshing. Honestly XH have some amazing covers and I absolutely love them.
