CONTINUING WITH THE REPLAY ALBUM, this time it is SEUNGMIN's solo piece, 'Stars and Raindrops'! We've spent some time recovering from last time's explosive bomb that is Felix's DEEP END, so we were going in roughed up and tired. And well, Seungmin delivered - his tone, his skills are already expected. Buttttttttt, the genre, the subverting of expectation, the mixing of the sources, and much more, it gave us something fresh with one of the most classic progressions. I straight up RAN to watch this reaction (and I usually don’t run unless I’m being chased) 1) because I love this song so much and 2) because I thought y’all would vibe to this song (and vibe you did!). Amazing reaction, as always. Y’all had me laughing and taking notes at the same time. Seungmin would love the Day6 comparison, since he LOVES Day6, and who knows, maybe he’d even like the underwear. Furreal though, this song just grew and grew on me. I agree that it’s a prime example of ubiquitous chord progressions and melodies being ubiquitous for a reason- it uses them so beautifully and that chorus…it just soars. I’m also a hopeless romantic and big softie so the whole thing just kind of makes me cry (sometimes my husband asks me, very sincerely and sweetly, if I am having “song feelings”). There’s also all those little vocal subtleties, like when he chooses to breathe during phrases, when he chooses to use his falsetto or his mix, and when he chooses to use that full-out belt. It’s perfect, and as a singer/songwriter myself its quite inspiring. Fun little fact: I actually loved this song and the imagery in the lyrics so much that I enlisted my in-laws’ help (they’re Korean immigrants) to supplement my very basic understanding of Korean to write an English translation of the song. Maybe someday I’ll get around to recording/posting it (like NewJeans, tho, I’m Super Shy). FINALLY thank you for always wading through my novels of comments and taking the time to reply to them. I really do appreciate it.

I'm truly in love with Seungmin's voice and his delivery with the lines he has so when he had this as his solo song on this album, I was in completely awe. He gave a little insight about those vocals at the end of the song: he mentioned that it's when you finally look up to the sky after looking down for a long time. I feel like this song is like a cloud. Like, I'm not able to explain myself better than just saying: it's feels like a cloud. It's so incredibly beautiful. Also: thank you for mentioning my name in such a funny voice, it made me smile so much 😆 can't wait for next one but take your time too!!! Welcome to stayville, baby stays!!! Great reaction!!! SKZ has a funny way of making sad songs feel happy. Such trickery. Haha. I love the song and Seungmin did so good. Just wait till you hear Innies song. I always smile when I hear it - it just makes you happy. Also - back to sad song’s sounding happy - if/when we make it to the Scars album the song CALL - personally I think it needs to be played everyday - I love it very much but it’s actually not even close to being a happy song…..again you will be fooled.

With Stray Kids there's talent everywhere, if you liked replay I think you'll enjoy The Sound album, since there are also songs produced by Hyunjin and Seungmin, which are just brilliant! Very underrated album :( It's just amazing timing for you to get to know the kids better and appreciate them so you can get to #LoveSTAY as a proud STAY 🫶🏻

Day6 you say....Hong Ji-sang who has worked on several SKZ songs and worked with Seungmin on this song, has long helped produce Day6 songs. OMG! this is the first time I can't stop laughing while watching your reaction. hahahaha! Yeah this song is soooooo Seungmin. He poured everything into it. The contrast of sad lyrics and happy vibe of music created melancholy image of storyline... sad but still hopeful to move on.

I love the fact you mentioned day6. Day6 was my first Korean music concert and I’m a big MyDay. Seungmin is actually a huge MyDay to the point we joke he’s the president of the MyDay fanclub. I always love when he covers Day6 and his voice fits soo well in that genre. When I first heard this song I immediately made that connection and it made me so happy to hear a song of his have a similar vibe to the music we both love.

SO WE HEARD. Seungmin and Day6! We also realized this one was by Hong Ji Sang - we would've had a lot more to say (we did think 'of course it was done by Hong Ji Sang!' when we found out) but that's for next time I guess! ;) And thanks for that breathing detail because that is so true !! This song is part of my highest played songs album, and its because its such a quintessentially seungmin song! someone mentioned already that Hong Ji-Sang helped compose this, and that Seungmo is a huge myDay, but im so glad you vibed to this the same way we all did when we first heard it (and still do to this day!) its such a beautifully written song, and even the lyrics themselves are incredible! Seungmo really outdid himself with this track!
