That group ride thing looks like here in the midwest, except they are on the paved county and township roads at posted UTV crawl speed. Very annoying. Where you are UTVs are fine, here you may as well have an off road Jeep or Truck so you at least can get where you are going at decent highway speed. Or you truck them the northwoods where there are more gravel roads. Makes an all right farming / contractor vehicle in places. The trails locally around here not that wide, more population dense. Fine for a 4-wheeler ATV.

Good for you Sean. In the forests of the PAC NW I'm a total two wheel moto-x bike guy. 4 wheeler would be good out on the Eastern side of the Cascades.

Being in the Jeep industry since 09 it's fun hearing outsider opinions. Both camps have their upside and downsides just like you said.

Having had brain surgery and had a tumor that f'd up my balance, it's removed my 2 wheel ability, likely permenantly offroad. I'm still able to do 4-wheels, but it has made even a ATV 4-wheeler harder for me to ride in the wild.

The cost of many of these newer UTVs are basically right there in line with Jeep/4-Runner/Tacoma/small 4x4 truck/SUV and for less capability imo. They are definitely gaining popularity in my area, but they are for driving miss daisy on the pavement as I blow by them pounding the twisty backroads in my Mustang for fun.

October 2024 the CanAm factory rebates expire at month's end: many models are at the end of design walls, bucking up the incentives. Dad bought Polaris forever and a day until he just died, I just figured the Polaris were the best? I didn't know they are Rotax motors in the CanAms; wifey put over 55K miles on a 650GS which was just a Rotax 650 single I took care of for/with her, then she went to the bigger Buells. Our woods work here in the upper Midwest is more likely to be a quad, but not to start a quad vs SxS debate....Kolpin trailer hitch and gun racks just arrived for our new-to-us CanAm XT 850; 850 V-Twin, 9 adjustment levels for throttle/engine braking/power steering, 1500 lb rating for towing, locking diff?! Drive on TnPers! Great vids!
