@nutnfancy you know what the weather out hear is like. Any suggestions for the 12 month a year threats of the extreme winds, large hail, and snow? For those that have never been here WY is the only state that has had snow in every county in every month of the year. We also regularly get golfball sized hail and sustained winds well over hurricane speeds. On top of that our winter temps rival Antarctica. We have almost no cover in the form of trees and surface water is almost non existent. I ask because my old gear needs replacing and is no longer made. Yes there are reasons we are the least populated state and we like it that way.

Love the camping gear vids! Great to shake it up a bit, thanks Nutn

Small and light is why it's not very warm. Learned that, especially as I've gotten older (65). Please keep doing the backpacking/camping gear reviews. I love the Kelty down sleeping bags to 20 and 0 degrees.

Hello WY Hstdr: you are correct on snow in every county every month of the year and very windy, HS! Less people indeed...just the way we like it. Are you asking about a tent then in those conditions? That TNF Trail Lite 3 can handle that if staked properly.

The Nutnfancy Project

Indeed. I like putting them in the mix too. So far however the views on the backpacking equipment THIS WEEK and here in Patreon are abysmal, no support from the clubhouse 'cept you few elite

"Please keep doing the backpacking/camping gear reviews. I love the Kelty down sleeping bags to 20 and 0 degrees." Yes me too. I have some other bag reviews coming down also. You're like me, I sleep cold out here usually. But with the lowest temp at 48ºF that night, the Glalactic did well and I was warm. The Glalactic is a great overbag too.

Got feet tangled in mummy bags too. Whoever designed the mummy bag likely had a foot bondage fetish. Much prefer the room of a square foot box.

I get my mummy bag all twisted up too. Frustrates me. I’m liking the recommends on the square bags. That’s what I’m going to get next.

Patrick Brichta

Well they are appreciated. I finally picked up a kelty redwing 35 based on your reviews, best pack I've ever owned for day hiking etc. Thanks again!

I need a square bag like this for sleeping in my Xterra when I camp down by the river. I hope they never fix the zipper. Struggling to un-jam it at 2:00 AM and having a panic attack because you're about to pee your pants is part of the camping experience lol.

Down sleeping are awesome for weight savings, but they're a PITA to clean and I'm afraid i'll rip them apart if I don't baby them. I have a few, but would be hesitant using them.

I personally hate the clickbait titles everyone uses now, but have you considered trying that? Some creators claim clickbait titles contribute 50% or more towards views.

Nuttin…diggin the outdoor/camping stuff

Todd Strelka

Great review. It's nice to be outdoors.

Actually I need to replace most of my gear. Some of it is going on 20 years old. I need something that handle our weather, be as light as possible and be wind and water proof or at least resistant.

It’s really kinda amazing how well down sleeping bags can stuff compactly. One recommendation - Zenbivvy stuff sacks with their compression caps work really well. Their comforter bedding sets are pretty expensive but I use several of their stuff sacks and caps for my camping sleep system to minimize the storage space needed, in lieu of the stuff sacks that came with some things as well as for a couple of things that didn’t come with a stuff sack.

Bonus thumbs up for the Dutch oven reference.

nutn, I spend about 30 nights a year in a sleeping bag. BIG AGNES!!!!! specifically the park series bags. my favorite is a diamond park which is their down model, but I do have 2 echo parks as well. They solve problems I never knew were problems. pocket for your pillow. don't you get sick of your pillow falling off your sleeping pad? I did, no more. twin zippers also either side exit and breathing. stretching draw strings at the top allow you to sinch the top over your shoulders for it being very cold. mine is the 15 degree model. I have used it to near zero with quite a bit of clothing on. with just G's on a shirt and socks and a merino beanie, its good to about 25 degrees. if its colder I had a little more clothes as needed. I also can't sleep in a mummy bag, or even a smaller sleeping bag. The park series bags are lightweight car camping bags that could be used for a short pack in

A POU on sleeping bags would be helpful, like many thinks it can be an overwhelming decision

I liked the slock master so much as a butcher knife (processing large game) I bought a second one and the skinner from that line, so I can butcher /skin longer without having to sharpen. Excellent tools for the price.

It’s all about you and your use. What’s is your needs and budget and if you sleep warm or cold . It’s a broad temperature range you are going to need at least two.
