We are kind of circling back to wilderness stuff here in TNP! With good view numbers many more fun adventures are coming your way here. With this in mind we'll kick off big knife work with an IISA (Is It Still Awesome) episode on the Fallkniven A2 Wilderness blade. Pairing it up with the long-gone Trail Blazer "Sawvivor" saw, we'll get to work at Ponderosa.

Sean is here helping me and he is a TNPr who bought his Fallknivens off me original review! With imperfect technique but high enthusiasm he attacks our desert wood. The only thing missing here would be the light weight Mora Companion to complete this wilderness set. Another fun knife philosophy and work video at Ponderosa...how will the IISA question be answered?!

I wish I jumped on that sawvivor when it was still available

Wear some glasses bros. Those chips are flying and one of my buds was doing similar chopping and got a chip which lodged in his eye. Had to have emergency surgery and pretty much lost sight in that eye.

Love the outdoors content, brings me back to a simpler time which I’m sure we all need right now

Bought the A1 a few years ago at Nutn’s high recommendation. It is just awesome. It is of course a component of my SHTF kit.

Derek W Tiller

Would be cool to have you sharpen it to see how easy it is to put an edge on that beast.

Todd Strelka

I didn't watch the video yet, but I bet it's still awesome.

Finally some wilderness content! My favorite

Saw surpasses axe for heavy wood processing and calorie preservation. Thank you for the continued effort and dedication.

Bought an A1 off your original reviews. Received it, and was like… it doesn’t feel big enough. Got the A2, and it stayed in the collection as the winter camping and WROL survival knife. Totally agree on pairing it up with a Mora, and maybe a Pacific Salt in the pocket. Thanks for the wilderness inspiration. Makes me want to get put into the woods!

Some of my best memories of over 70 yrs, starting with my dad, mom and brother camping in Medicine Bow.

I remember your original review on the A1 that was 14yrs ago you had Bugget Duster with you that day. I picked up an A1 from that video I carry it on my bike when I go moto camping, or whenever I'm going out in the stick's. It's a handy size to carry in my day pack love it. I still haven't been able to find a Sawvivor the best wilderness saw I could find has been the Boreal 21. I'd still love to find a Sawvivor because it's smaller and not as heavy. Maybe I'll find one used on eBay eventually who knows lol.

Nice! Still have my sawvivor I got years and years ago off your recommendation and it has been thru a ton of wood on backpacking and camping trips. It's still in one of my go bags right now and besides the crappy little red thumbscrew it's been awesome. I switched to a silky big boy only because I've put tons miles on the sawvivor and wanna semi retire it since it can't be replaced.

Sean

I got myself a silky saw as well. They are fantastic. I put one in my truck for trail clearing and one in my pack for camping. They have both served well. They are very light and the draw cut really makes short work of cross-cutting logs.

PNWTRAVELS

Glad to see more wilderness reviews making a comeback!

I don't know why I keep putting off getting a Gomboy or some Silky folding saw. Recently purchased a completely unfinished Ram Promaster. I'll definitely get a saw for my tool chest.

Please review Silky NATA knife! Thank you

Love these vids. It's how I ended up with a san mai trailmaster forever ago. Still love it.
