We jump back into the time machine and explore why the original &W M&P15 Sport was so awesome, showing you that gun in testing. Jump forward to the 3rd Gen, is it just as awesome? Well know me: no quarter is given and nothing gets a free pass. So it was with fingers crossed that we went to the desert AOR to shoot the &W M&P15 Sport Gen 3. S&W remains a well-run company and has come out with some standard-setters. But let's see if they remembered what helped make them great.

Love these episodes. So cool hearing your thoughts on guns from times gone by. Great content Nutn!

My favorite nutn vids are these

Todd Strelka

Great video. I have several S&W pieces, but not the M&P 15 Sport. The upgraded M&P 15 MOE Magpul edition was nice. The Corvette chops were awesome.

On paper, that barrel has the potential to be very accurate. I'm curious how much poor assembly ruins it (like PSA). Thanks, again for another good review.

It is amazing how much the world has changed.. I came into gunworld when only Colt made AR-15s, and they were 12 to 1400 dollars. A mini 14 was 300 or a little less at the time. I bought a 32,000 mile Corolla at the time for $1600. Love the gun reviews Nut'n..keep em coming.

Thanks for the entertainment Nutn! Introduced my 8 year old son to Wikipedia by learning about Corvettes. He’s getting into cars big time. I think the C7 is the pinnacle. Nicely done! Long live TNP!

I am so glad someone said something about smith and wesson. I bought a compact m&p 2.0 in compact and full size. Stock nothing facey, and the trigger on the compact was great, the full size was junk, so i took the full size back got another full size but with the new flat trigger, and it was so gritty. I hated it. Quality control at S&W not the same as it used to be.

That’s too bad, I expected a glowing review. My sport II shoots a little under an inch at 50 yards without any effort (cheap ammo) and I’m not a rifle guy. I’m sure Nutn could get moa out of it. I’ve upgraded it over the years with a full hand guard, stock, grip, charging handle, etc. but the guts are still there. It needs a lot of oil of course. As recommended by Nutn, the sport II was a great gun for a pistol guy who just wants to have a value rifle in his house that works.

Thanks for validating my Rock River purchase Colonel!! My first AR purchased 10yrs ago and it shoots moa even with me as the shooter!! Lol. I love that thing.

I rock a Sport 2. I definitely prefer the Sport 1, but the 2 hits above its weight. Plus, I'm able to come in at around $1,600, with some swaps and an EOTECH XPS2G.

Rock River was my first AR. Still my most accurate I believe. Only two disagreements. Comps and even the battle comp just don’t get the job done with flash suppression in night shooting imo. For me I gotta have an A2 or a can at night. A forward assist in a DI AR is a must. There is no good reason to not have one. If your bcg gets gunked up enough to not seat, a forward assist is the best method to seat it properly for another shot. Still true even if you’d just transition to pistol on the malfunction.

Still rocking the gen 1 based off your recc nutn 🫡
