I just won in a gun raffle last week, a Diamondback DB15 in 300blk in OD Green. It’s a sweet looking gun. Got to get an optic now and test it.

Garrett Dismukes

As soon as I won the gun, I watched your DB video from 2021. Ha

rediius

Tragic, but humble. I empathize. Good reminder - I now have more than enough ear pro to cover my entire family, which by extension is enough for my training. Now to start stocking the extras, backups, and substitutes in smarter locations so that doesn't happen to me.

rediius

Also, on the topic of hearing protection: I discovered after the fact that my Bluetooth muffs pick up interference from my home wifi. So this set will be moved to an outdoors only setup. We all make boneheaded, poorly researched decisions. I'm working on trying to think of this as a good mistake to learn now before it's critical.

Joshua Lund

I usually only order 300 blk online, so I usually only spend $.65 per round of AAC 110 grn. In store it’s all at least over $1 per round. I have forgotten ear pro before, I’m thinking of just sticking at least some disposable foam ear plugs in the grips just in case.

bugout

Just flinch the barrels and poke holes in the targets... background footage done

Chris Adkins

Perfect video timing, dude! As I'm getting loaded up for a day at the flat range, checking off everything on my list to bring. Ears: Double-check. Gonna bench shoot some three-oh-hate out of two rifles that if I remember you weren't a big fan of but I kinda love - a Ruger Scout and a Saiga, both in .308. Thanks for the vid!

bugout

All kidding aside, good video regardless we could listen to you talk about anything... def reminds me that i have too much crap and need to streamline & duplicate

Aaron

Looking forward to the 300 BLK review. I’m in the midst of pulling together the parts for a 300 BLK build using a 16” Faxon barrel with an adjustable gas block. Any thoughts welcome. BTW, yes, I’ve had my fair share of forgetting stuff, like targets, rifle rests, lead sled once. Glad I’m not alone. So frustrating! Great content. Thank you!

Porter3861

Dude! Sorry to hear that about the ear pro. Your vids have been invaluable to me since I've been following you from 2010. I've made purchases (guns, watches, knives, & philosophy practices) and avoided others based on your reviews. Top shelf and still the best. Thank you!!

The Hide

Great video Nutn. I think we've all fell victim to the forgets lol. Definitely a shame driving all that way! Can't wait for the 300blk content!!

Matthew Sinn

Oh man there is nothing more frustrating than getting to the range an hour or more away, after organizing everything and triple checking what's there and going with... and then something's wrong or left behind. One that comes to mind for me is a range trip with some family years back. Brought several guns including two .308 mag-fed rifles which share the same magazines, kinda... that is, some mags work in both and some don't seat all the way in the one. Go figure I brought the ones that only worked in the one gun. So that took the other basically out of the shoot because it was just tedious for everyone to have to single feed over an empty mag well. Strong lesson for me at the time: Label Everything.

Silas Porter

I haven't forgotten any gear (yet) but I have gone to sight in a particular gun, got back home and I realized I hadn't. So that was fun.

David Elkins

Someone drone drop some earpro to nutn please 😁

Charles A. Higgins

The 200 grain Herter’s at Bass Pro are on sale for $16.99/20 right now. That’s the ammo I run through my pistol.

Elijah Ballard

Appreciate the dedication! The fam and I are on vacation so I will get caught up on Nutnfancy when I’m back

Andrettski

My 1st guess was you forgot all your ammo. We only come with 2 ears and 2 eyes, so ya have to protect 'em. After forgetting shit myself, I made a printable checklist years ago.

Loki

Forgot my work ID and only discovered it at the gate so had to go all the way back home to get it. 300blk has been intriguing me for years but I'm always wary of adding more caliber into my systems portfolio. Been really getting into AVI-8 watches, got a limited edition double box set coming for Christmas. Costco has some Savior rifle cases for $50 right now, sadly not the covert but for those wanting a soft case for a good price it might be an option.

Wyoming Homesteader

My wife wondered why I duplicated equipment across every location and vehicle until something similar happed to us. Now by default she just waits for the sale and buys multiples of each item.

Squid556

Video title made me think a .300 blk found its way into a 5.56 chamber 😨 Glad that didn’t happen!

Seeker Keyl

Yup, been there. I've forgot ear pro before. Forgot ammo before. Tools. Whatever. Been better across the years, but yeah. Thanks for sharing the video and the insights in spite of the mishap!

Todd Strelka

I haven't forgotten ear protection when going to shoot since it's kept I'm my range bag. I always keep a package of ear plugs in my truck and at home. I know the over the ear hearing protection is best. I did see some electronic Bluetooth hearing protection ear buds near the rifle cases for $119 at Costco yesterday. Seems to be similar as to what Colion Noir uses. Thank you for the behind the scenes insight into TNP. Your hard work and dedication are appreciated.

Kyle Soucy

I’ve had the same thing. Went to the gun range for the sole purpose of sighting in my Bergara bolty with a new can. Before I went I did a barrel alignment check and I forgot to put the bolt back in. Show up to the range. No bolt. I was so mad.

Aquanaut

No check list? Dude... Well you earned this. "Suck less!" 😆

Harold Galen McPheron

An extra hearing protector to be kept in your truck seems to be in order...

Mudtoa

Had to drive home to get my Elk tag one time. At least I did not make it to Elk camp before I remembered.

J Ram

I keep a pair of in ear plugs I just keep in the truck, small enough to be out of the way. It's come in handy a few times when I ended up at the range to see a friend when originally having no intention of going by. Oh and phone ear buds can be a decent substitute as well. Speaking of long term TNP fallouts...what ever happened to Crocket? Hope he and his family are doing well (he seemed a decent enough guy).

Iowa Dave

I last forgot ear pro in 1991...it was a self-correcting problem. These days I am all about the checklists, especially with my preferred range 1:15 away in the middle of nowhere and going to out of state matches. I've also gone to dedicated ear pro with various systems...one set on top of the big safe, another set on top of the bedroom pistol safe, one on the seat of the lawn mower, two in the range bag, etc. Love the 300 BLK content. I have an AR in 300 BLK, looking to maybe add a Ruger American Gen 2 in 300 BLK as a dedicated thermal optic/suppressed platform.

maxmfs

Two is one. One is none. But we have all been there at one time…

maxmfs

In terms of 300 BLK ammo prices, I highly recommend SG Ammo out of OK. They have many of the major brands in bulk - subsonic and standard. I just picked up 500 rounds of subsonic from them and have always found their prices and service to be top notch.

Schmuckatelli

Yes on the knife testing. Maybe I should thank you for not producing a TNP SE blade for a few years. It gives my credit card a break. But...I would really love to see another TNP Special Edition blade.

Charles New

I'm always up for another TNP blade, (been along time since you had a fixed blade) or a watch or a scope or a backpack or whatever you got.

David M Behsman

Dude, I read the title for the email, "I Screwed Up Big Time, Shoot Cancelled, .300 Blackout talk- Patreon ONLY" I feared the worst! Thank goodness it wasn't one of THOSE videos!

David M Behsman

As the owner of multiple MagLula UpLulas, I can attest! I swear, one of them got legs and walked away.

hoplite ⚔️

Yes to more knife testing. Thanks for making a vid even if the intended outing didn’t work out. We’re always ready to come along for the ride bro.

Rob Miller

My son and I went to a military rifle match one time and forgot magazines. Now even our pistol bag has a 10 round 556 Pmag

Rob Miller

We buy them in funky colors and it helps. Pink and yellow with sharpie initial’s seem to hang around longer.

Rory Neuman

I'm still a blade addict! Speaking of blades, what ever happened to your limited edition blades you were doing? Thanks to you my Spyderco collection is insane, and my Daggerr Sting is in my EDC rotation often. Love that freaking blade. Also thanks to you, I'm now rotating in my Flytanium Beef. I guess my wallet is happy the special edition TNP blades stopped, but my heart is sad!

Beck

Hey Nutin,… you are still killing it! Dont get frustrated, dont lose focus. I am looking forward for the vids, thats going to be awsome. Dont get mad if people dont have time, keep in mind you are out there having fun, but I agree habing a view buddies with you is always even more fun. Thank you for what you are doing. I keep having bicycle locks on my guns when transporting and went to a shooting class,… with out the keys… everytime I go there for another class or a repetition… I hear a joke about keys, but thats fine…

LucNukem

I keep a dozen or so pairs of foamies and a few pairs of eyepro in the cars just because. Haven't forgotten anything on a range trip but have had my time and ammo wasted due to morons at the range. Had just installed new rings/scope and was sighting in new ammo in my hunting rifle. While waiting for a cease fire to retrieve my target, some dummy started mag dumping into my target. Didn't have the time that day to set up a new target and give it another go.

Plasmids

That sucks Nutn! I've done that a couple of times when I have headed out to an outdoor area to shoot and I have forgotten something that I needed. It really sucks. Glad to hear that all the guns that you are reviewing are doing wonderful and I can't wait to watch those videos! The blackout videos I'll be very interesting to watch as I'm thinking about getting one before Colorado goes all California ugh! Also, please keep doing more knife reviews and watch reviews sir! I'm still a knife addict as well and I'll be buying more knives in future so please keep doing more knife review videos. Watch reviews are also something I'll looking at too and I'm trying to add to my watch collection. I'm just focusing my efforts on guns right now because of the stupid bills my state keeps shoveling down our throats. Please keep up the good work Nutn! I love all your content that work so hard on creating for us. God Bless you sir!!

Eschebone

Laughing with you, not at you! Relatable problem, but you spun it into an entertaining vid that still has valuable info. Good stuff, man. Appreciate the effort as always.

Erik

Hey Nutn, I have a Steyr M9. ❤️ it! Bought it when your first video on it came out, paid $535ish, worth it! Also love the PSA dagger content. I would (and do) defend my life with both. Thanks for all the hard work and years of content.

Scott Dunn

Happens to all of us. I lost my wallet last May. It’s a learning experience. You could always just make a “rant” video and we would be interested. What you did was cool too!

squaretac

Dude! I love the back story insights in this video. Keep the clubhouse exclusive videos coming.

Bill

I'm a magician and I drove 2 hours to a gig and I had forgotten the main illusion that the agent had booked me for, I lost a lot of money because made it right but I was able to pull the show off.

Tanner Duman-Brown

I haven't forget anything yet,My turn is coming. Thank you for all the hard work you do and top notch content.

Steven Salina

I thought you were gonna say you forgot your ammo as soon as you said, "I drove all the way out here and..." I went to the range one time and when I got there I realized I forgot my wallet with range card. Went home, got my wallet and drove back only to realize I forgot my ammo. Turned around and went back home to get the ammo, only to drive back to the range to realize I forgot my money. The only good thing is my range is only about 7 miles away from my house.

Schventagon

Was out in the West Desert on Saturday, and most of the 5.56 I brought was greentip M855. I found some 55gr to shoot, but it was a good lesson on shaking down the gear box before packing up and heading out.

kylenor

I've got two of those Steyr M9's. An A1 that I picked up used a couple years ago for cheap and an A2 FDE frame that I picked up a year or two before that. Picked them up based on your recommendation from forever ago! That and someday if I can acquire an AUG they'll go great together.

Jordan Wolfe

I forgot about Last Suspect! What's he doing these days? I remember the vids when he was learning to ride a motorcycle.

Bbomz97

Dude, those hand guards aren't on straight. likely weren't milled on 2 different planes. I suspect it's that something in their assembly line isn't lined up right, and also possible a crappy design.

Neal Denison

I've joined the old man's club, approaching 79. Got the gear for days gone by now need to inventory it and find it before I now longer can remember where it is. Reloading 300 black was my solution to cost, had all the reloading gear. Found reloading relaxing.

JFire

Been there! Kinda ruins the day. Maybe keep a back up that lives in the Titan just in case? That’s what I do. I got spare ears and eyes just for this reason.

Sergio Anderson

You're not alone man, we're with you out there in the wilderness testing some new thing

Ryan Reese

Lmao… sorry you forgot your Ear Pro but thanks for making the best of it and giving us some great content.

TC

Two is one, and one is none . . . none is . . . the type of bonehead type of thing I have done.

Matt Mann USA

Those flanged silicone ear plugs don't do anything for me, and I usually only wear ear muffs as a second layer of protection - for operating equipment like chainsaws and weed trimmers. I keep a pair of Howard Leight Super Leight ear plugs in my pocket as part of my EDC; they might be my most-used EDC item - I use them virtually every day and usually for hours at a time (mostly for shop work). They're made of foam that you roll between your fingers to compress, and then they fill up your ears after you insert them. They're supposed to provide a 33dB reduction, which is sufficient for shooting comfort for me, and everywhere I shoot is surrounded by hardwoods. They should provide you more than enough protection for desert shooting. You can buy 100 pairs for $42 and keep a few pairs in every vehicle, gun case and tool box! https://www.amazon.com/Howard-Leight-Honeywell-Disposable-R-33133/dp/B001DZMGUS?th=1

Brievet

Fun vid! Chris Costa made a good vid about .300 Blackout holds between subs and supers. I wish I had the M9A1. I have an M9A2 in OD which makes me want the A1 and either L9!

Jim Ferebee

Thank you for the video.

David Spinks

I have forgotten mags, guns, and ammo at different times. I've also brought the wrong gu and the wrong mags. Don't feel bad.

Rusty Chains

I have discovered I was missing ammo or whatever on arrival at the range, what a pain! Tough enough to get time to go to the range, just worse if it is half wasted.

Rusty Chains

Love my wife's old truck an '89 S10 Blazer with the 4.3 engine. We don't drive it all that much any more, but a great truck!

Ted Malone

I have forgot hearing protection before. It happens

Paul Tooley

This video inspired me to create my own TNP acronym: The MRB (Micro Range Bag). The POU is a small and highly portable bag that contains the bare necessities for any range trip. The total cost could be under $100 or even under $50 if you’re smart with your money. Due to the low cost, multiples could be made and stored in every vehicle. The size of the kit would ideally fit in a glovebox or center console. Uncle Nutn, I’ve been a long term viewer since I discovered you when I was in high school in 2008 and you provided a base of gun knowledge to me that my absent father could not. Feel free to use my idea and know that I’d be honored if you made a video about the concept.

William H

That’s a great idea. I don’t shoot AR-pistols, so outdoors, I’m fine with the 3M earplugs. Earplugs, cheap sunglasses, box of 9, box of 556, a few paper target, shove it in a storage compartment of my Sequoia. That could “save” a range day.

TechNeck

Alway, always always, ear plugs in my truck,

TechNeck

So if we see inset video in the future... that is just a GIF of one round being shot.... we know were it comes from

Matthew Larson

Sorry about the trip, but the chat was enjoyable! I have forgotten only smaller things when headed to the range in the past. I did forget ammo once, but I had other stuff I was shooting that day, so it was fine.

JK

Not sure if you actually measured the rails to see if they're actually different heights, but I had an issue with the rail that came on one of my ARs where I had to crank the windage. I just took the the rail on and off a handful of times and it "lapped" itself true lol (or it was just seated a little wonky from the factory, either way).

Duece71

I always have ear plugs (multiple) stashed in vehicles so I am never without ear pro. If shooting under a cover or indoors I always double up.

DudeDudeDude

I have left ammunition and ear protection at home before. Forgot targets including clays when going clay shooting. Forgot cooler/water on a hot summer day.

DudeDudeDude

I am surprised that the ear lugs were not enough. I now keep a pack of the foam ones in the truck and they work just fine in a pinch.

DudeDudeDude

I have seen my grandfather use empty brass for hearing protection before. Granted his hearing was so bad you had to yell at him for him to hear you.

Bryan Hufstedler

poo poo happens. ya overcome and adapted. Made something out of nothing. Still a great video. Keep up the great work. Peace

Willie Everett

These videos are some of my favorites. I do have a range bag that I take no matter what we are doing at the range, one time I forgot my good muffs and had to use my cheaper backups that I had in a different bag.

The Gates Family

I’ve never had that problem with only wearing in-ear plugs. Not with shotguns or SBRs or anything
