My dad recently gave me his old Swiss Army knife. My grandfather used to travel to Switzerland regularly and one year brought home a knife for each of his kids. I cleaned it up and put it through my ultrasonic cleaner, and it's now part of my EDC rotation next to my Juice. If I didn't use the pliers so often it'd just replace the Juice. Can't beat the classic.

I love the knife, especially with the locking blade, but I use my multitool so much that the swiss army knife would be redundant.

I’ve carried a SAK as a light duty pocket tool for so many years now that I think a locking blade would take some serious getting used to.

My SAK only does one job, but for it's one job I love it. It's my LDMT for backpacking and kayak camping. I have an old Super Tinker my dad gave me in the 90s and wouldn't replace it with this one. The scissors did have me drooling a little, but other than that the toolset just isn't there for me. Based in Phoenix, I don't ever go hiking without a fine set of pliers. If you know what a cholla cactus is... Locking blade is cool if you're into that, but I don't know if I've used the blades on my SAK this decade. When I'm in the field I use the scissors and awl for nail hygiene, the package hook is great for tensioning and generally pulling hard on cordage as well as carrying anything heavy bundled with paracord, I carry a couple of screws I reuse for hanging stuff in camp and cordage anchor points so 3D Phillips is awesome. Awl is good for uniting stubborn knots. It's all the weird tools I use the most. If I could I'd take the knives right off it to make it thinner and lighter. Competitive option (especially if you're into it for the blade) MKM Campo 8. M390 main blade, micarta scales, very useful toolset. I'd move to that if I could get it with pliers instead of the saw. My 2¢

I like it a lot. I have a dozen SAKs including a several Vic's. I may buy it for my birthday this summer.

I don't know how any of you can do "knife rotations" this is such a foreign concept to me. I can't stand having something different every day. haha I mean realistically the only way we can enjoy all our toys is if we play with them all. And... my knife toys sit a lot. Cause my Charge S-TI is all that goes anywhere with me no matter what. I'll grab extras when I know I might need more.

I don't have any with aluminum scales but they look good. The scales on the Cadet are more durable than plastic scales, whick melt a little when cleaned with alcohol.

Great review thank you it is nice. I like the pocket clip, but you sold me years ago on the cadet

I’d rather nix the blade locking feature, and vent holes, but the rest is great.

Sad that no one is watching your SAA videos, I just got a Cimarron that’s going out the range in the next day or so

Love me some Victorinox! This video may cost me.
