Here's a gun you've probably never heard of. I hadn't either. As I say here, in my good-deal Black Friday Hunting, this is one of the guns I came up with: the Olmi 963 "MF Defense" 7 shot .357 Magnum. I was incredulous at the low price and I figured either way it will make good content. I was right. There's a lot of revolver fans in TNP and most aren't made of money. Enter the Olmi (I think the sound of that).

It is made by Fabbrica Armi Olmi (also known as Armi Olmi G.) is an Italian firearms manufacturer located in Sarezzo (BS), Italy and imported by Taylors & Co currently. The quality will impress you and the design departs from the standard. The 963 features a forged Ni-Cr-Mo tri-alloy steel frame, a ventilated barrel shroud, and incredible walnut grips. It's heavy and bulky. Supposedly also available in 3-inch and 4-inch barrel lengths, the revolver utilizes a Dan Wesson-style dual frame locking pin. The whole presentation is solid and well built. The Ruger GP100 and new Colt Python make welcome appearances as competitive options.

The video review will add a short in field shooting of the Olmi and I will show you how geeked out with some super cool Pelicans flying overhead (in the desert!!!). Tune in for that fun and the final rec' on this pleasantly surprising .357 Magnum....the one you didn't see coming.

Of the same ilk, SAR SR38 looks to be another value .357 made in Turkey. I doubt I can ever get one for review.

Yes! More revolvers!

Maxreverse

$360 wow. Who sells them in the US? Can’t find it on the Taylor & Co website.

Awesome! Another revolver review! Looks great. I’m getting more and more into them and already have way more than my wife thinks I have. Keep it coming!

Love more revolver content! Been trying to decide between a trr8 and python for the longest time. Looks like this one might be another option as well

Another Nutnfancy revolver revolver? Yes please...

I friggen LOVE 357. I started playing with it the last couple years, actually taking up reloading for pistol in the process because if you wanna shoot a lot of 357 you kinda have to. I find that the finger grooves really HELP on revolvers because for me they seem alot more sensitive to precise grip. I have some loads with h110 that I make, they make the 357 into a totally different gun. I am shooting a 125 speer at 1600 fps from a 5 inch python. it makes other guns seem like a pop gun.

Looks like he was on Palmetto St Armory site?

Hella good value revolver. Yes, really chunky. Pelicans in Utah?

Maxreverse

Thanks for the info. Found it at PSA. Unfortunately all sold out.

I’ve known revolvers were cool since the 80’s As officer McClain said, “Welcome to the party pal!”

Supposedly there will be replacement shrouds that have pic rails. As a fun project gun this looks like a winner.

So glad to see NUTN continue coverage of more traditional firearms!! Definitely love semi autos and more modern designs, and definitely love seeing that you continue covering the traditional stuff too. Thank You!!! One of my favorite memories from growing up is shooting revolvers with my dad. He's been gone almost 2 decades now, but definitely left his gun enthusiasm in me. NUTN is largely responsible for stoking that enthusiasm into action.

Bbomz97

Excited to hear that!!

The TTR8 and Python aren't really in the same class, other than they're both double action and shoot the same caliber, but if you want something more traditional, the Python is hard to beat, but a classic S&W 686 is much more similar to the Python. The TTR8 is a totally modern revolver design, scandium framed, light weight, railed, etc. Couldn't go wrong with either, just got to decide between modern or traditional.

Love the revolver reviews. I remember seeing those on sale real cheap. I was tempted to pick one up but could not find much information on them. One thing is certain Taylor's does not import anything that could be considered garbage. These remind me of being an illegitimate bastard from when a S&W knocked up a Chiappa rino.

Man if I’m going wheel gun, which I love btw, sex appeal has to be high. This gun just doesn’t have it in my humble opinion. $350 becomes $450 after taxes and FFL transfer fees … personally I’d rather save and get one of those revamped snubbies S&W is coming out with OR a colt snake gun. Honestly some of the Taurus snubs look better. Thanks for the wheel gun content Nutn!

I just spent 20 minutes reading about the American White Pelican after seeing this video. 😂

DudeDudeDude

Those pelicans spend the winter on the local lake. The look huge when they are sitting in the water.

No other gun is as sexy a a revolver. Excluding those Chiappa Rhinos of course. Those look like a bus station skank and not the high class ones. --Leon Phelps
