I have heard from a dudes in the clubhouse they want more motorcycle reviews; especially long distance touring types. Here ya go: KTM 1290/1390 in the TNP House. This is filmed looking at the back side of Mt Timpanogas in the beautiful American Fork Canyon. We'll have to put up with some obnoxiously loud pipes of dudes driving up but we press one. This is a fast paced and clean review on the type that will let you know if it's right for you!

Love it, curious to see long term if there is any change in quality since the bankruptcy. I’m inclined to say their austrian priors override any desire to cheapen it out… I think the lc8 family is perfect and well sorted, so as long as the electronics are good this thing is probably contender for top 1/2 adv bike.

I’m excited for this, I’ve been looking for my first bike lately. I know this is way too much for me but still love the content!

IDK think the Walmart background would be more "adventurous" for sure. But otherwise great video on a cool bike

Thanks Nutn! I wanted to ask what you thought about KTM going forward after their financial issues at the last live chat, but we didnt head that direction

Dude, Dude Dude, love the motorcycle content. Much love to KTM, and wish them well under new management/ownership. Hope they continue their innovation and product line up. Super love that KTM Austria continued to develop the 2 stroke dirt bikes long after the Japanese manufactures all but abandoned them. Love Japanese reliability, but it's hard to beat KTM's innovation.

Good review, some midweight competitors have been catching my eye lately like the Triumph Tiger Sport 800 and the Vstrom 800.

I have a 1390 on my list to upgrade to someday. I’m wanting to do more long roadtrips lately

The Nutnfancy Project

Both good choices, I would learn more towards Vstrom for easy maintenance, reliability

Thanks for that enthusiasm, great to see hear. KTM is one of a kind, a world treasure if you ask me. They do what no other mfrs do and they spend millions in innovation. I too love the Jap bikes but they just don't have the same personality.

The Nutnfancy Project

Roger that. My understanding is KTM is on solid footing for now, fingers crossed

Next for review might help you: either Yamaha XSR900 or KTM 390 Adventure, both coming up

JFire

Awesome! Cant wait!

Elijah Ballard

Excited to hear KTM 390 is on the list!

when I see the very large bikes like the XL frame KTM's I just scratch my head and say that thing is just too friggen big. I am 6'1 and 260, ie a big ole boy. They make the seat heights even for me excessive on most of these bikes and I wonder WHY. They are too heavy to jump anything very high. If you need that much ground clearance you're on the wrong bike. all of them are kinda this way. a bike with a lower seat height just gives you more margin all the way around from a dump over. if you're on uneven ground even though normally both feet touch easily they may not with uneven ground. its just easier to manage. I lowered the seat and used a lowering link on my tenere 700. The KTM's are even higher. unless I get a better seating position and more wind protection, I don't really see the point of the XL KTM's. 90 hp is plenty, although more is nice, an 890 with better wind protection will get it done. and YES I rode off road in particular on gravel roads quite a bit

Yes, I agree, KTM has been to the motorcycle world over the last 2 decades, what Winchester was to the gun world from the 1930s to 1960s!! Built by enthusiasts who love performance!!

I'll watch but have never done it and probably won't start in my 70th year. Have fun.

I was very serious about buying a Vstrom the past four weeks. I can’t find one in Montana. None of the Suzuki dealers up here are motivated to even try to get me one. Closest one I found was 600 miles away in South Dakota.

Gilbert Cuzdey Jr

Dang, that's wild. I'd figure Montana would be a prime spot to sell those.

thanks Nutin! I love the Moto content!
