I think the star of the show will be the farmers knife I show at the beginning. Should I sharpen it or leave it as is?

If memory serves the frontier knives stopped production in either 85 or 87 so it is at least that old. Imperial was brought out by Schrade after ww2 and all the Imperial lines were shut down starting in the mid 70s and the last was in the mid 80s. Personally I'm not a big Buck fan, for the same money I can generally get a better steel with a different brand and less money. The last Buck I purchased was the Vantage Pro in S30V and that was because of a black friday sale. Before that it was was in the 70s.

Cool to look at old stuff. A knife my grandfather or dad may very well have carried. Really not a fan of Buck or Case knives tbh.

Leave it. I have always preferred Case over Buck. Honestly I haven’t seen much from Buck that has excited me. Bought a little tiny 0417BKS or something awhile back. It’s aite. I also buy kookie oldie knives at thrift or off the side of the road. Glad it’s not just me. 😂 I like the trad knife reviews but get that a lot of guys just want to see tactical plastic.

I grabbed one of these early on - first time in hand I knew it was a kit or truck blade, then after trying to like it - it’s just a throw in the drawer and forget blade. Opinel, Al Mar, Ontario Rat, etc all outperform this every day.
