Damn son. $49 is rad. If y'all want 'em only the red one is at BHQ right now. Don't expect the chinese stuff to be consistently restocked. Trade issues, huffy customs officials, lessened passenger travel means you may not see them for a while. I've heard of some guys having direct ordered cancelled altogether, other stuff gets routed through other countries like yemen.

Connor Murphy

Awesome! I'll have to pick one up. Hey Nutn, have you seen the BHQ Exclusive OD Green S30V Infidel? I got one and it's fantastic and only about $20 more than the standard Infidel. BTW I'm still loving my TNP Lightnings.

IndianaBen

Inexpensive auto, not really my style but of course I’m gonna tune in no matter what... And boom - awesome story right off the bat!! Freaking love it. Like the Vin Scully of gear reviews Nutn. The ballgame isn’t the only thing going on, the stories and wisdom ties everything together and keeps us coming back.

Jonathan-James

Thanks for the story Nutn. Tragic, but the manuals are almost always writen in blood. Your story reminded me of somthing I witnessed, cant recall exactly, between 2008 and 2010. I was doing my annual rifle qual when I heard a loud pop! I looked to the sky and say a multi/bright colored parachute. Ignorant to more than I know now, I immediately thought, what the hell is that dude dueing parachuting over a military base?.... Then a softer but louder explosion occured, followed by a large mushroom cloud. What I thought was a trespassing, dumbass civilian was acctually one of our own F-18 pilots ejecting from a failed aircraft. Which Was a concerning to me as a fellow human and service member, as well as being an Intramidiate Power Plants mechanic at the time. Long story short, the pilot was fine and the failure was hydraulic, which was not related to my shop. Flash back.

I've been eye-balling this knife for a while now. It's been on my wishlist at Grindworx for moths. I always thought this would be a cool TNP Special Edition blade. So during the middle of your video, I paused it and used the link in the description to get a teal blue (the TNP color), bayonet two-tone blade.

It says the AKC F-16 Country of origin says Italy, though maybe they’re made in China? If they’re made in Italy that’s definitely better then buying a Chinese knife. I do like the X-treme it’s says it made in Taiwan so I’ll take that over Chi-na.

RowdyRon

Glad you mentioned the "viper" thing. Drives me nuts. What's the deal, Falcon not cool enough? Of the knives you had, I think I like the looks of the AKC X-treme the best. Descent value all around though.

Michael B warner

I always love hearing your Air Force stories. There always interesting and entertaining send them 👍

The Nutnfancy Project

That sounds like an xlnt blade Connor, I love the ODs. I still have my Infidels and love them. They have been durable and fast.

W5GLS

Sold! Great story Nutn!

Justin Ruiz

For the price you can't go wrong. I've had mine for about 6 months. Haven't had any issues. Action is still really good considering I am constantly playing with it when I have it with me.

Lance Gemmell

Sorry my State does not allow autos. Love to watch your videos on them and dream about owning one.

Robert Plested

In the early days the F-16 was nick named the Lawn Dart, owing to early model flight control systems' tendency to fail in a nose low configuration. The VIper drivers didn't like that name either.

David Goodridge

Looks like stabilizer on the right is in need of repair. I busted my head open one time one the left stabilizer pulling a fuel hose under there.

Faustus

Fascinating story. Did anyone look into mechanical/engineering solutions to the problem? I'm thinking a set of baffles toward the rear of the scoop which open in an over-pressure situation, and allow airflow past the actual engine.

Nancy Merrell-Robertson

ooh, that F16 story makes me very sad. i hate it that inlet buzz was discovered in that tragic way. I LOVE YOUR AIR FORCE STORY. And let me just say that I love OTF knives, especially the cool autographed one I got from Nutnfancy.

Racing Psychosis

From racing 2 stroke karts, I certainly understand the F16 story. Amazing what the air can do to engines.

Todd Davis

Great review and story. Out of curiosity, did the F-16 engine intake create its own shockwave like the Concord's tail, or was it purely from air compression? I wonder if the high speed and attitude change could have created its own shockwave where it was unexpected.

robert mccrory

haven't been disappointed with your picks, i draw the line at about $100 for a knife. of course i did pay $110 on eBay to get the last ntf light blue knife. keep doing your thing leading us

Chris Hibler

Did you say “Chinese blade”?

BusaPilot08

Thanks for the review and the interesting story. I'll be passing on any Benchmade products. I value our 2A and there are plenty of other nice blade options out there.
