It was surprising in that we didn't hate it!  In fact the CX4 quickly grew on us.  Taken on multiple expeditions, we found the strange looking CX4 still worthy of PCC consideration.

In this tabletop review we'll consider all its aspects and I remark on why I think PCCs are selling so well right now...more than I've ever seen.  It will have something to do the often violent, unpredictable communist rioting.

I'll remind of my favorite Braced Pistol Option (BPO) and say if I'd prefer the CX4.  In the end I will give a solid salute to the CX4.  All items get a fair review in TNP...preconceptions get pushed aside!

Thanks to Riley, a TNP Patron here, for loaning me this cool little gun!

Beretta CX4 STORM PCC: Surprising Outcome

What happened to the video? Can't access it anymore...

Pedro

I’ve always wanted a cx4 storm and sbr it.

David Goodridge

Rifle and handgun using same ammunition has always been a practical combination. From the Chisholm Trail to today’s highways they just work.

NatvMan

Thanks for the shout out Nutn! Keep up the good work!

Paul Cabbie

I didn’t think something as trivial as watching my name slowly scroll up the screen of someone’s video would make my day. Well it did 🤓. 13 years of being a vigilante owl...worth it #fenixTK10forlife

Gilbert Cuzdey Jr

I think the popularity of pistol braces is what's bringing the pcc back. Personally I'd love to get a hold of the psa akv; my sub2k will have to suffice for now. On a different note, having a non-threaded barrel in 2020 is pretty whack.

RJCa5533

So awesome to see Nutn shooting your gun. It was a real pleasure to be able to help the project. Got my CX4 Storm back to my configuration with a Bushnell TRS-25, Mugpul VG and a second charging handle. Pairs up with my M9A3 nicely. Thanks for another great video!

John S

Your intro sounds like me...but we never met! lol

tmobile8

How do you think it compares with the Keltek Sub-2000?

Christopher Davis

Wow. As a longtime TNPer (since about 2011), I totally had a moment when I saw my name listed. Thanks so much for the shoutout, Nutn!

The Nutnfancy Project

I would prefer the Sub2K for SD purposes, more compact, very reliable. For joy of shooting the CX4 is way funner.

Ruben Lopez

Hey Nutn! After 10 months of waiting, I get to start my electrician apprenticeship on the 24th!👊🏾

Harold Galen McPheron

I want a PCC, but I'm looking at the new Ruger PCC with the free float hand guard, wish me luck in finding one...

David and Elizabeth

Like the PX4, looks like form follows function. Good job, Beretta. 👏 Seems like a great training or recreational option for those rocking the albatross PX4 as their sidearm. 👨‍👩‍👧 ❤

James Young

Thanks for the shoutout! Great video!

Phake A'Count

Field strips without tools. Reassembles without locktite (looking at you, Ruger). That retractable light rail puts the light further forward to mitigate the shadow cast by the barrel,

David Gaines

This might be the ugliest gun I have even seen. It competes with a highpoint lol

Andrettski

Finally Nutn! My CX4 storm is my bedside home defense weapon, I love it. Streamlight protac railmount 2 with a Vortex sparc 2. I had Sierra Papa do the complete trigger package along with their charging handle, steel recoil rod and buffer pad. Wow it makes the Storm so much nicer to shoot. Brian and Carrie of Sierra Papa are such great people I was able to see them by appointment because I live in the area. We shot it B4 he did the work at their personal range and after so I could even more appreciate the fine work he does. I strongly recomend. Nutn, I wish you would have put a red dot for the GRV, you would have come away even more impressed.

Matthew Larson

My father-in-law and I both love our Sub2K's. Mine is my go to right now for any bumps in the night. Fantastic little gun!

Matthew Larson

My brother has wanted a CX4 for a while. It's just a shame that they seem to be hard to find. Good to see that it held up well in-field!

Mike S

Thanks for reviewing this PCC, Nutn! Glad to see another PCC review on this channel and it's cool to see another beretta product featured here.

David R Benkendorf

I carry a 92-series, been wanting to pick one if these up, just having a time finding one. I'm also a southpaw so one thing I actually do like to be left-leaning is my firearms, which is one reason I have the ARX and want this. Also very interested in their 1301 Tactical shotgun. I admit it, I'm a Beretta fanboy, since I've carried a few over the years and they have been utterly reliable.

David R Benkendorf

Dissing a sexy little curvy Italian like that makes me question your taste in women. But all jokes aside, fair enough, to each their own. I think it looks great.

David R Benkendorf

Big reason why I'm trying to find one. I carry a 92-series, and I'm a lefty, so it makes a lot of sense.

RowdyRon

Looks kind of fugly, but if it works and Riley digs it - more power to him. Glad to have him on our team. Does look like fun to shoot. Saw a Tavor in the rack at the Luke AFB gun counter for $2025 yesterday. That thing is beautiful, but out of my price range. Props for the MAC patch! Thanks Nutn.

David R Benkendorf

No kidding, haha... got that great feeling years ago when he scrolled the winners of a Nutnfancy/Impact Guns giveaway at the end of a video for, I believe, MSR snowshoes. Think it was when he hit 100K subs. Got a Kel-Tec SU-22 out of that.

MCatl

I like the Cx4 (I have two of them) but one weakness is a tendency for cracks to form over time in the wall of the trigger group housing near where the safety protrudes. IMO this is likely due to excessive stress on the recess due to an overly stiff safety spring.

MCatl

Sierrapapacx4.com has some nice upgrades to the Cx4, including a machined aluminum trigger group housing. It's $$$ but solves the cracking problem.

David R Benkendorf

Field strip is super easy on these, kinda wish ya showed it because it's real simple. Still got my TNP hat like that. When you come out with a new one, would love to see a coyote brown/FDE or OD version with the angry owl, those would sell a lot better I think. Just not into the newer patches. Maybe b b better yet, make it so we can stick any patch we want on there. And what vest are you wearing in the vid?

I was going to buy one and thread the barrel for suppressor use. Unfortunately, I was told that due to country of origin, this would be illegal to use as a suppressor host. I ended up with a jp gmr 9mm. I was really disappointed. I totally like the cx4 because the mag well is in the handle, much more compact then ar15 style with the mag well in front of the handle.

Nicolas Royston

Thanks for the mention! If I had to take a pcc i'd go for the ruger pc charger, but overall i'd rather have a ar pistol or shotgun up close.

David Gaines

Bro, It looks like a paintball gun from 1984 😂. I love the analogy though

Owen Roe

An old room mate of mine got the storm CX4 when they first came out. If they were readily available for use with glock mags I’d have one. Loved the way it shot. Very easy gun to shoot.

Rob B

Sig is finally starting to sell the P320 FCUs separately. Someone PLEASE build a PCC (BPO) around it that doesn’t suck. Use the Storm as inspiration, but drop all the goofy Beretta styling. 8” threaded barrel, pic rail top, mlok slots up front, side charging (reversible) handle, folding pistol brace, P320 mags. Offer it in multiple colors from day one and for a price under $600. They would sell millions of them.

Lee Harrell [W5GCF]

Man, if you had done this review 5 or 10 years ago, I would have bought it. It was on my list forever. Finally took it off about 2 years ago. I don't know why necessarily, there are so many other options now that are better. Glad you finally reviewed it! Stay safe.

Racing Psychosis

Surprised by the accuracy. Looks pretty good. Would I buy one, the answer is no. Don't know anything about the Gundum. TD will have to bust out the 40k stuff.

Jeremy Hicks

I'm trying to stay out of the riot areas, but my boss keeps reminding me that, apparently, they have plumbing in downtown Portland too. A lot of people think the cx4 and px4 are ugly, but I think they look pretty cool.

Mitch Parish

I'm in the same boat from a work standpoint. I'm curious how well a sub2k would ride in a laptop case. :)

Mike R

I didn’t make the list, always the bridesmaid never the bride. 😞 lol a Beretta 92FS was my first handgun I lusted for after seeing lethal weapon and die hard and after six years of waiting Santa finally brought it to me when I was 17. Even though the cx4 can take the same mags and I have plenty, I’d probably never buy one unless I found it used for $250-300 I just hate the looks. Great review and I’m glad it is reliable though for whoever does want one.

Tim Bone

Has Sierra Papa been doing custom work on the Beretta CX4 for awhile? I've heard good things...

Andrettski

I don't know exactly, I would think at least a decade, maybe longer. They are literally the world experts on the beretta storm. I've been wanting to add the all aluminum trigger housing as well. Thanks for the reply

Andrettski

On the TNP hats, I would by 2 or 3 if they all weren't those low profile crowns. A lot of us have big domes and those teeny hats look silly on large craniums

Andrettski

The 92FS in SS was my first for the same lethal weapon, LOL. But find someone who has a cx4 and shoot it, you'll come away smiling, hopefully with the trigger upgrade. Rewatch the GRV both Nutn and Sean went in with a lot of skepticism and came away pleasantly surprised. That was my impression. Do you still have that 92FS? I've got mine. I'd never part with my first, only when it comes to women, it usually takes a few to find the right one

Joe Foss

Thanks for the shoutout Nutn. Oh, and that just made me think, you gotta find a way for a spare tire for the Wolverine. At least a tube, tire irons, or bead buster, and lube. Just sayin, as I can’t count the tubes I’ve replaced on Enduros & Desert races like Barstow to Vegas, Hopetown, & the Baja races back in the day. 👍

Pedro

Miss my 92S. Dad has it now but hardly carries it due to weight. It was my first purchased pistol so may buy it back or just get the newer versions

Pedro

Wow crazy, I love the look of it.

Scout154

I had one of these years ago and I regret selling it.

Plumber Angelo

I love PCCs, this one looks goofy but damn it shows up!

Mike R

Lol true got to run through a few to find the right one. Yeah I still have mine, I don’t sell them I just keep adding to the collection you can never have enough just like potato chips.

Nathan P Hubsch

I'm sticking with my Vector SBR in 45. Perfect vehicle gun.

Trey

Another great GRV. It was cool to see my name roll across a TNP video. Thanks Nutn for all that you do!

STLParkRanger13 (IG: Sharpshooterjon)

I absolutely love the CX4. Once upon a time, my duty pistol (which I also carried off duty) was a Beretta 92D. I figured it would be a great companion for it, in case stuff got weird. Since I'm no longer living that life, I've changed EDC pistols (I carry both a Glock G20 and a Walther PPS M2 together, my "daishō") and subsequently, the Cx4 and 92D have been relegated to backup kit. But as far as PCC's go, I dig it a lot, especially with a Beretta 30-round magazine.

John Krywy

Have one of the first CX4s that came in the country (sub 750 serial number). Love that gun, even though I sort of moved away from it. Don’t really shoot my 92 Brigadier Inox or my PX4... and all three are still sitting in NJ until I get my main safe up here (ME). Trigger was always a complaint by people... I think SierraPapa is still around. Their trigger setup is pretty damn nice. But if I’m going with a PCC, it is either the SUB-2000 or my Macon Armory D/I .45 AR... which I will be SBRing the later within the next year.

David Englehart

I had a real thing for the CX4 for a while... I guess it wore off. I've had an S2K and Just Right Carbine and sold both. It's hard to beat the AR platform so I now have an AR9 and AR9 pistol. I wish the pistol were lighter but otherwise love them both. I also have the Ruger PC9... everything runs Glock mags... I guess that's why I never reeled in the CX4. Great review, as usual 😎🇺🇸

Dione Kollee

Great GRV Nutn! You’ve been cranking out some excellent content & I’m grateful for all your hard work. I work part time at Gretas Guns here in Simi Valley California & finally ran into a TNP’r. I was wearing my dumb ass civilian hat & he has a dum ass civilian patch on his hat. It was like him & I had know each other for years. We talked about the old TNP days w/PFI dude & all the run & gun’n videos you used to crank out. We expressed how jealous we were about all of your shooting locations & how we wished Gunnie’s was just a hop skip & a jump. I’ll make it out to Utah one of these days. California is getting even tougher to live in man. None the less it was great to run into a fellow TNP’r. I should have gear checked his ass lol. Next time! Appreciate the shoutout in the credits Nutn. God bless & hope you & the Nutnfancy clan are doing well -Dione Kollee from Thousand Oaks Ca

Austin Cobb

Ok, I’m going to have to be that guy? This gun is a moped...it may be fun to shoot, but you don’t want your friends to catch you with it. 🤣

Bluegill097

Would you give up your Sub2k for the storm???

Kinoons

Kinda reminds me of the high point 995. That worked too.

Daniel Martinez

I was gonna get a cx4 and then the PC9 came out :)

Sheepdog

Thanks for the mention on the scroll. Gave me a little lift! Thanks for all you do Nutn!

Lon N

Thanks Nutn , I feel like I should blush - I was multitasking and didn't notice the mention the first time I watched. I will confess to lusting after a AR-45 and the old Marlin Camp Carbine. The CX4 just doesn't hit the 2nd cool spot for me...at least until they come out with the 2 Terawatt plasma PCC.

Andrettski

FYI to everybody who likes their CX4 , cdnnsports.com has the Beretta factory 9mm 30 round mags for $40. The best price I ever got was $35 from Bud's like 8 years ago

Rick Grad

Great vid. I'm really glad I jumped on the Sub2k bandwagon after watching your reviews on it years ago. Pairs nicely with my G17...a few 33 rounders in the bag and the drives to the city feel a lot safer.

kow

If I remember correctly the Storm was introduced during the time of the “assault weapons” ban which would account for it’s “ featureless” appearance.

William H

I’m surprised by the accuracy and reliability in the desert. Great video.

Sam Robinson

Such a cool gun and a great pairing when matched with a Beretta 92/M9 or PX4! I love mine and rave about them all the time. So glad you got to discover what a great option the CX4 Storm is.

Sam Robinson

Excellent in so many ways. Thanks for the awesome content. Especially the Up Side Down of Right Parts 1 & 2! Godspeed
