Let's balance out the content flow with a trip back to the track in the Corvette Grand Sport.  The place again is UMC in Utah and it's hot.  Stupidly I didn't use top octane gas but it didn't seem to matter.  We'll turn in the best times of the track on this day despite some strong competition.

Remember the GS isn't the most powerful Vette but it's the most balanced:  it has not problem laying down all of its power and its refined chassis was born from many seasons of Corvette racing experiences.  The tires, brakes, motor are all excellent as you'll see.  And unlike my turbo 350Z, it doesn't overheat out there!

You'll get views from inside, GoPro, and PDR which provides an exciting data filled view.  I'll give me opinions on some different rides like the Honda Civic Type R and a few more!  For those looking for information on the Corvette C7 this video is not to be missed because I pretty much review it here!

Your Vette Will Shred Track, Vol 2

Not to be missed Corvette Grand Sport getting ran 10/10ths at the track. It's hot and I stupidly show up with a full tank of marginal gas, a bunch of cargo, and no prep whatsoever. I almost crush a Subaru WRX who launched ahead of me. She was doing the best she could. Both interior and special Performance Data Recorder video is shown separately as I felt that's the best way to show it. The Vette ran amazingly and even saves my butt with its carbon ceramic brakes as I late brake into a corner doing 107 mph.

Yeah, buddy! Thanks for posting this. I hope you're driving the Corvette lots. I can tell a Grand Sport by the symmetrical side gills. The Z06 side gills has the divider bar more towards the top. I love the sound of that engine. Have you done any mods? I saw a top speed of 106 MPH on that last run. Not too shabby! Well done.

It's gonna be interesting seeing how themarket treats this gen of vette. Could well be the last of its kind for a long time, which usually makes people pretty excited. Hard to imagine a better variant, too. The CTR is a very cool car, but it's not a type R. It's a marketing committee vehicle meant to compete in the ~$40k sporty bracket. Designed by the shitty USA honda design co from the looks. It's sad, the original teggies and Civics were so unique and characteristic of old austere jap kit cars. Lightened, pared down, lightly and tastefully modded to match a club racer, with strong, consistent branding. It's the golden goose, and much like HK they didn't get around to capitalizing on it until the lifeblood of enthusiasts in their company has long gone.

Dom

Nice! I need to take my ZLE out to my local track again. I’m just not wearing a F’n mask!

Tacticaldoodle

He's got a buddy that busted his self up pretty bad racing bikes, has a couple fingers fused together if I remember right. Plus you can't race with a cooler stocked if you're on a bike.

Zach Brunsink

Love all the commentary while waiting and during driving haha just whole video lots of fun!

Matthew Sinn

Really fun vid. Staying grateful is so important for mental health. Love it. I’m hoping to be able to start getting my RX8 out to track days in the next year or so. Now that I’m living in the South East I’ve been out to Deals Gap a couple of times and the thing just thrives on those twisty mountain roads. It feels so alive even maxing at 40mph and bouncing between 2nd and 3rd on the Dragon. Keep up the great work Nutn!

Paul Griech

Nutn what do you think of electric bikes? It’s a pretty fun way to go camping and adventuring! I actually got one because of my kids. But I been using it a lot for all kinds of things I’m even planning on testing it this year in PA deer season as alternate transportation because of how quiet it is.

J Ram

Thanks for letting me live vicariously through you on this one Colonel....outdoors adventures, guns, Knives, watches I can follow you on and participate.....with two kids headed to college soon there are no Vettes in my future, and besides, it's not practical for hauling Scouts around, lol. Great vid!

Patriot One

Dude you don’t have a full military on that throttle yet?

Andrew Koch

That LT1 sounds naughty! Love it!!

WOOOOOOOOOOOO VET VIDEO!

Racing Psychosis

I've seen a couple of the new mid-engine Vette's and I must say they look better than I thought they would in person. If the performance is there because of the balance, they may be a real game changer for those who like the performance. A little too rich for my wallet though, as I'm still in my Track Pack S197 GT.

Racing Psychosis

That's fun stuff. I got to the track last weekend in the vintage racing kart. 11-turns on a 1/2 mile kart track was a blast with the Yamaha powered kart turning 14,000 rpm. And yea I'm still bruised up, found some hotspots in the seat, but beat up the body for speed.

Racing Psychosis

Oh and true that on the dudes comment. Oh you need to race a shifter kart, only real men run a shifter kart. Yea most people are slow as turds in normal racing karts and would be completely over their head in a shifter kart. I would be just fine in one with the high horsepower stuff that I run already. But if I bought a shifter kart, I may as well buy a track car and go SCCA racing, plus I don't have any tracks relatively close that are big enough to take advantage of running one on regular basis.

Bikes require way more skill to go fast and are substantially more dangerous. No doubt about it.

The Nutnfancy Project

Thanks...me too! It's kinda' boring otherwise. The talking while driving coming from my jet instructing. It's important to be able to talk and fly so you can teach guys.

Andrettski

I'm so jealous Nutn, hopefully that will inspire myself ans others to live out their "race car" dreams. I had a 300z(non-turbo) for just this thing. Unfortunately the douche I got it from said he had the timing belt done. Oops, NOT. Mechanic I had said the factory seals were all there and was never done. All that dumb ass had to do was tell me and I would have had it taken care. Had to sell it from being in too deep. Thanks for the Vette vid, I won't give up.

''If you have the means, I highly recommend picking one up"

Plumber Angelo

I miss Killer but the vette is sick!! Nice runs Nutn!

Hakon Satvedt

Thanks, cool stuff. Wouldn't mind some nice outside walk-around footage to really appreciate the machinery :)

Lon N

Nothing like a fast horse. Muchly enjoyed, thanks Nutn.

Pedro

The grand sport was a popular seller for when I worked at Chevy. It gave folks the chassis that can tackle the bends but still comfortable drive to them and back home.

Pedro

90’s civics where amazing. So lightweight and utilitarian yet easy to mod and make reliable power while being cheap. The new type R is too boy racer looking. Ok we get it you are fast and a type R.

Pedro

TacD. Where I disagree. A Fjr1300 can do both lol, panniers plenty big enough yet won’t touch pavement

Andy Pask

I’m no expert but those laps looked very smooth. The wheel was steady all the times - no big over corrections etc. I picked up Camaro SS 1LE this year. Amazing car for the money. Livin the TNP life!

Pedro

HTe sellers like this, just be upfront and I’m more likely to buy. I keep all maintenance logs like airplanes in a big binder and keep doing as per manufacturer severe schedule. Especially critical to do timing belts.

Pedro

Our local Indian dealer has them. They are sweet and liter bike fast, even more so then them. In city digs and speed yah electric is great but at highway piston power still smokes it. I’m going to demo ride a few soon but they are very expensive.

Aaron Martin

Holy crap man, guess I haven’t been paying attention. I didn’t know you were rocking a Vette. Very cool!

Andrettski

It was definitely a live and learn lesson 4 me. Dude was an older guy, Vietnam vet, thought he was trustworthy

Jim A

I'd love a vid of a walk around the vette!

Jaron Robison

Track addict app for phones. Only 1hz refresh rate but better than nothing.

Michael B warner

Nice job Nutn I really like the diversity of your content. It keeps the Nutnfancy experience fun and interesting. Not to mention how you tore it up on the track that was sick!!!! Keep up the great work buddy 👍

Daniel Herb

Always great when a chance pops up for a Corvette video. thanks for bringing us along for the track ride.
