You think for yourself and you're unencumbered by gear elitism.  Congrats!  That means you can enjoy and love this series of watches by Fossil.  Featuring high quality construction we'll look at the colorful and high variety of Fossil FB-01 dive inspired pieces.  Like your knife collection, your watch collection could probably use some color and this is a cost effective way to do it.

The FB-01 being a value watch will lack a moveable bezel which is a disappointment.  But pretty much everything else is on target: the hands, the readable date, the silicone straps, the 100M water resistance and the value.  Check out the modded hands version I did for a more bold appearance too (shown).  These 42mm Fossils are low profile and will fit just about everyone too. Highly recommended.

This is like a watch version of a Taurus G2C. We're not saying that's a bad thing. It certainly has its place in the market. 👨‍👩‍👧 ❤

I'm still not a hardcore watch guy... yet. I've had a hard time giving up my Casio F-91W, no frills, no bulk, the minimalist retro look makes me happy. The neon blue FB-01 here caught my eye though. I think I'll give it a shot.

Todd Strelka

I love that blue Fossil watch in the WRV. I used to own a Fossil Speedway chronograph watch with a blue face and stainless bezel and bracelet. They are a great value and very stylish. I'd buy one again.

Anthony Schaad

Soo many choices, I’ve been getting into watches slowly, definitely into the value watch game ... but which color to choose lol. Great content Nutn!

Connor Murphy

Great video. I don't know why so many people pick on Fossil watches, I think they have several models that rock, my fave being the Nate Chrono. I don't understand Elitists.

Tyler Bassett

Not a huge watch guy. I had a few Nixon watches growing up as kid coming from the skateboarding and surfing community but this watch reminds me a lot of how Nixon did the colorations on their watches. Pretty cool looking. I think I’ll give this watch a go.

Daniel Herb

With the nice, mostly open face what about some stickers for the FB-01s to enhance matching the other EDC gear? Love the WRV

David Elkins

That orange one is awesome. Well they are all awesome buys but that orange pops. And if I could buy anything I want I would not have a wife for long. Value matters big time. Great content.

Rob B

Don’t do it Tyler! One hit and you’re hooked forever! That’s how they get you. First a simple, inexpensive watch. Next thing you know, you own 12 but live in a box under a freeway.

Chris Marchi

When a watch review is up it's a good day

The Nutnfancy Project

"Next thing you know, you own 12 but live in a box under a freeway. " Correct. That's where I am editing from right now!

Tex

There was a coupon a few months ago. I got the steel band hulk clone for $30. Not bad at all.

The Nutnfancy Project

Could be done. I did like the labeling on the face and thought I'd wouldn't clutter this one up.

The Nutnfancy Project

Thank you David. I love that orange one too; great looking pieces. The purple is rad also.

After watching this WRV, I started looking around at other competitive options. I found the Casio MDV-106 that is actually a real dive watch with 200m water resitance, a rotating bezel (uni-directional), a positive display date (no fish-eye), a red seconds hand, and it's a 44mm case. It basically fixes everything you didn't like about the Fossil and it's the same price.

Dusty Garland

I bought a gray/purple Casio STL-S100H 3 years ago after you posted. Every time you post a watch like this (cheap and colorful), I think of it, because I should’ve bought 3 of them. #discontinued.

DuginIN

Another excellent WRV. Entertaining, informative, perceptive. I’ll keep watch ing.

I have always been a fossil fan!! For hard core work I still use the Ironman!! Love my pro trek 3500 with the orange band u reviewed way back my first atomic watch!!! My first tritium watch was a deep blue auto I got for Christmas. It has the blue and orange tritium( only bummer is I had to send it back due to not keeping time. Got it back and I guess I’m just spoiled by the accuracy of the atomic 😎. But it’s still a cool piece. Keep it rockN!!!

Paul Griech

Thanks nutn just picked up black one. in my work environment we will see if it holds up to powder metal dust it’s hard on watch’s phones electronics period.

Mike R

When I saw that blue one in the video thumbnail I thought for a second we were getting our first special TNP edition watch. Haha hopefully soon we will get a TNP edition watch.

Tyler Bassett

Haha sound advice Rob 🤜 but i have been in TNP for a long time now and have been living in that box for quite a few years already due to all the gun and knife reviews. What’s a few cool watches to add to the mix!

Bluegill097

Heck yes this is just what the doctor ordered! I’ve been looking for a way to get an inexpensive orange watch into rotation!

Craig

I love the entire channel and am a Patreon member to support watch reviews!!!!

Tacticaldoodle

That's a pretty cool environ. Like testing extreme desert conditions with some heat. I'd bet a lot flops from that.

Tacticaldoodle

I think the most likely would be a limited one with some appliques on the face. Not sure we could ever see a run of 500 unless it comes from a tiny mfr.

Mike R

Yeah True maybe if you found a place that would do limited numbers maybe take pre-orders. That way you know for sure and wouldn’t get stuck holding a bunch of watches. I’m not a watch guy but I’d definitely get one I’m sure other TNPPrs would as well.

Nancy Merrell-Robertson

I love your watch videos. They always send me scurrying to the dictionary to look up terms. Watching on Patreon on my phone, it always sends me to bootube. That's only on my phone. I love being able to listen to and watch your videos while I'm doing chores like cleaning the kitchen. It truly makes the time fly by. thank you, Nutnfancy!

Charles davis

Would rather spend the money on a seiko, or a deep blue, they’re more expensive but they also hold more value IMO

Bluegill097

Hey Nutn’, do I buy the orange fossil or wait to splurge for a sunburst orange w/ matching strap Deep Blue for $250???

Jason Boyles

Hey Nutn', I'm pretty stumped right now. Didn't you and doodle do a table top on the Kershaw AM4? I bought it from your link to bladehq and I love it but can't find the video and I'm confused. Thanks for what you do man!

Jeremy Corrao

Never. Seiko has been around longer than Rolex. Seiko is my favorite brand!

The Nutnfancy Project

Buy the Fossil. You can always hook into a strap later. Also I want to see if you like it. I just wore mine on a big mtn adventure and I loved it. They're cheap!

Bluegill097

Excellent, that’s what I was guessing you’d say. Mine arrives today!

HappyFrancisMacomber

Then also buy the deep blue master 1000 II, but sign up for their emails and wait for a code - get it for $169! Amazing quality of deep blue - I have 2. That’s two watches for your starting price!

HappyFrancisMacomber

I demonstrated restraint on this one - but liked the green best (I have favorite orange in collection). Post updates in comment when you guys get them on wrist !

david rockwell

The Fossils demonstrated in this WRV certainly make a case obtaining a couple for daily/weekly rotation. The linked Combat Sub 46 Automatic Blue from Joma is really enticing. Wearing an analog watch brings a certain satisfaction as most march toward the digital future. Changing watch bands to colorful or unique NATO straps are a great way to keep watches fun. Thank you for the continued effort and dedication.

TacticalSunBro

Nice! So many great watches out there. I used to have a Fossil Blue Series dive watch 52mm case with illuminated dials and no noise from the movement from like 2006 but I think it got stolen. Tried to fill the void with a Fossil CH3028 but it wasn't really doing it for me. The adjustment dial was constantly getting caught on my pocket and stopping the watch, the date was never right unless I set it and the movement was LOUD. Now I have a Garmin D2 Delta. Love it. Only small complaint is that it has a little bit of the small face syndrome goin on. But other that thats it is great. Fitness tracker, gps, great case design, great button placement and design, super easy to swap new bands with the Garmin Quickfit system, change the face to suit the style/outfit/occasion, great backlight and tons of customizability. Its a wrist computer but it has a very different function and aesthetic than an apple watch. I love the ability to keep track of physiological metrics like heart rate, pedometer, estimated calories burned, sleep patterns, etc. But still get decent battery life and the look and feel of a large case watch with the option of titanium or silicone bracelet. Temp, baro, compass, gps all good to go and right on the wrist! Thanks for all the hard work keeping TNP going! I love being able to learn from your data and improve my systems! Best regards, Onsen.
