A two for one WRV on the Orient brand, requested by many TNPrs!  Here I talk about the Mako XL and the Kanno.  Both feature Orient's automatic movements, no battery changes here.  We'll consider the hands, face details, lame, toughness, water resistance, bezel action, straps, and more.  A Sherman tank and German BF109 form the backdrop on tabletop.  A fast moving watch review so hang on!

Value for money, Orient cannot be beat. Period. With in house movements made in Japan at that price!? WHAT!?!? And Orient is owned by Seiko. Japanese honor! 驚くばかり 🇯🇵 👨‍👩‍👧❤

Diving is so much fun, I remember taking my first breath underwater. It was a different feeling. Keep the vids coming Nutn!

I have no regrets on the Deep Blue Master 1000 Gen II that I bought when you reviewed it about a year ago. It's such high quality, well beyond anything else out there for the same money. By the way the Casio Duro you showed in this review, is now available with an awesome blue face and bezel. I bought one last week and it's just beautiful. These Orients have my attention now. Please keep the WRV's coming Nutn. Thanks.

Tyler James

I bought a Kanno and a Master 1000 a few months ago. Love them both. Thanks for keeping the watch show going.

hey Nut'n, for us watch noobs, can you briefly describe what "hack" or "hacking" is in regards to dive watches? My ignorance is showing here :)

OpFor

When a mechanical watch movement is 'hacking', it means that the second hand stops moving when you pull out the crown to set the time. Non hacking movements are somewhat common and not as mechanically complex (generally cheaper) than hacking movements.

I have a big box of watches but I wear my Orient Defender almost every day, its like a Hamilton but actually water resistant and 1/3 the price. Orients are great.

Just bought the TNP Protech knife.....now I HAVE to get the Deep Blue Master 1000 GenII. Nutn cost me $$$. lol

HappyFrancisMacomber

Really like these. Very intrigued by the in house movement - thus, why I have original seiko SKX009 on jingly jangly jubilee bracelet! However, my 2 deep blues are insanely high value and high quality/design/form/function. The fitted silicone straps are xlnt. Saw they have a sick glow in dark strap in stock too. Nutn turned me on to deep blue and I can’t get enough!

Mitch Maris

thank you very much for the overview. makes sense. hacking == better quality innards

Glad to see Orient get some more love. Orient and Momentum are my personal favorite value watch brands.

Looks like a good value wristwatch. Have you heard of Rockwell watches Nutn? Great reasonably priced tactical digital watches. The "Coliseum" models with Kryptek camo are awesome and worth a look! Haven't taken them underwater diving yet but they are rugged so far.

Nancy Merrell-Robertson

I always love the watches. You're inspiring me to a buy a tool set so I can change my own batteries.

Tacticaldoodle

This is great. It's kinda super-necessary if you're the anal-retentive type that likes knowing your watch is set within +- 5 sec of Zulu or whatever when you start the day. I know some guys will lose their mind checking their mechs over time and notice they fall out of sync after a couple days. For most people without watch winders all over, it's easier to set it in the morning when you set it up. Maybe I just have too many dead winders though, never seem t' last more than a year or so.

Great to hear you're happy with the Deep Blue...still my fave dive watch series. Glad you scored on. I did not know about the blue version of the Casio, will check it out!

The Nutnfancy Project

Agree, the DB 1000 is just awesome.. Glad you scored a TNP SBR knife, they're worth about $300 already!

The Nutnfancy Project

" However, my 2 deep blues are insanely high value and high quality/design/form/function. The fitted silicone straps are xlnt. " Indeed. Deep Blue M1K is an addiction, really hard not to get more. Their abalone and bright colorations are just fun. And it's a tough watch too; I'm wearing one today, starburst blue with hands mod.

Charles New

I'm still holding out for a TNP watch.

The watch vids are great especially since ya got me into being a watch enthusiast... more than I was anyway. I like those watches, a dive watch is definitely something I need in my collection! My bro just got me a cool watch for bday tho, Fossil Nate Quartz in genuine leather... the face is a little bigger than I like but wearing it over the weekend just has that second cool factor feeling! Especially since it’s from my twin , TNP rules Nutn , keep the content coming!!

I’m going to ask a novice question- what does the timing bevel do?

JRP

I have a Kanno in blue that I bought second hand and I really like it. Strangely enough, it came on the bracelet which happened to be sized perfectly for my wrist. Normally I am not a fan of a metal band but that is the only one that I like so far. Good vid Nutn!

JRP

The timing bezel allows you to mark a reference point on the watch for timing events.

Nancy Merrell-Robertson

I love the cool green glow. Reminds me of the radio dial housed in a truly gigantic cabinet that my grandparents had. Took 5 minutes to warm up and start working!

Logan Holmberg

Its a nice watch. Have you had a chance to check out Islander watches yet? Hes a watch stor/tuber who started making his own watches based on the same seiko movment as in the Momentum Feildwalker and I love his taste in divers and aviation watches, Hes got a field watch coming out soon Im excited for and his ne RED October watch is gorgous. I missed the girst run but when he gets a new run of it I'm definatly picking one up.
