We need the feature length review with history lesson and TD in the house. Nutn you reviewed a clone of these at a shot show - the Ingles 1911 Hi Power is amazing 1st and 2nd cool. Been watching the parkerized walnut grip version.., At 11:15 - in show WRV, is that deep blue master 1000 II in full lume orange dial!? I love mine!

Pedro

Surplus pistols are always a boat load of fun to watch.

Scout154

I have been wanting a browning for years now but just out of the price range I was willing. Thanks for finding this one! I'll have to see if I can find one now

Ryan Reese

Sweet! I always thought the FEGs were turds but after I was stationed in Hungary for 2 year I saw that they were pretty legit. A bunch of their police and MPs carried them.

Nick Campbell

Ohhh boy. Can’t wait to dig into this review!!!

George Cortez

love the hi power in all of its forms. My FEG is super cool!

IndianaBen

The surplus / retro gear vids are always great!

Tomcat503

A-6E...another great Grumman aircraft (Doodle has good taste)! I’d love to see more ARVs (aircraft review videos).

The Nutnfancy Project

"A bunch of their police and MPs carried them. " That's probably where all the wear came from I bet

David Gaines

I know you feel like it’s not worthwhile but could you do a political call to action for Nov 3? I always enjoy those videos and any little bit to motivate the 2A community helps! We can’t let the radical left destroy the constitution.

Greg Malcom

Nutn, I have an older Hi-Power I could send you to review. It's in good shape and shoots well, if memory serves (I haven't shot it in several years). Let me know if interested.

Connor Murphy

Heck yeah! Make ARVs a thing, Nutn.

JRP

I'd love to get my hands on a Hi Power. Missed on one at auction a couple of months ago. Good vid guys.

Mike

Another great option is the Star BM9 Hi value low cost fun. Great review keep it up.

Sheepdog

The Browning Hi Power has always interested me. The lines just appeal to me. I should have procured one years ago before they became so difficult to get in good condition. They were the original 'wonder nine'.

Tacticaldoodle

Makes me wish I'd bought them when they were about to be cut. Honestly if they kept going 'til 2017 it made sense they'd just keep running tooling into the ground. Maybe they just never made headway on playing up the history of them, like the 1911 does. Having 'reissue' builds would've been an interesting move for them.

Rick Grad

I was going to "eventually" get a few more .22 pistols, kept putting it off, and now the prices are crazy high. That's also what happened with me and the Hi-Power. I knew I wanted one, but kept putting it off and now they are also very pricy. I did pick up a great condition Beretta 92s Italian Police trade in a few years back. I cleaned it up, got some new grips for it, replaced the recoil spring, and now it's one of my very favorite guns I own. It shoots great, very classic design, and I'll hopefully get to pass it down to my kid when she's old enough to shoot. The mag release is on the bottom of the grips, but I think that's kinda cool too.

Old school cool meets affordability. I remember when the gas crisis hit and you could buy 70's big block musclecars every day for under $1500. I remember passing on a 440 SuperBee for $900 with 42000 miles on it. If I had a Nutn dream review, it would be the ultimate (for me) 9mm carry gun- the Model 39 Smith morphed into an ASP. Thanks for what you do gentlemen.

NeSPy

I love hi powers. Hands down my favorite pistol. On the trigger - removing the magazine disconnect takes 5 minutes and improves the trigger substantially. Strongly reccommend.

Scout154

Also by the way those .5mm gloves are my favorite! I use them everyday on duty. They perform very well as a patrol glove and shooting glove. One pair lasted me about 1 year of hard use.

I was able to find a few surplus hi powers manufactured by FN off Buds Guns about 5 years ago for around $300. My dad always wanted one so we bought them and I cleaned them up, repainted them and put some Hogue Walnut grips on them. he loved it. Looks very WWII era. More accurate and reliable than the one reviewed but agree about the terrible trigger. The sights on all were beat up and had to smooth them and reshape a little bit but like Nutn said they work. Replacement sights for them are hard to find and match, prob need gunsmithing to fit. My pops is in his 60s and it seems like most guys of that era I talk to the HI Power is the iconic 9mm semi auto. They’ll be in the family forever now- for what they are and the shared project they were. Great review as always.

Mike S

So happy to hear some Hi Power/ Hi Power clone talk here in the Nutnfancy project! I can get wanting to get a Hi Power clone over an actual FN HP, especially since the BHP got discontinued a few years ago. 2 or 3 years ago, I saw some surplus FN Hi Powers at a shop, and even then in that time of low gun prices, those well used surplus Hi Powers were still 600 bucks.

J Ram

A6 was definitely a cool plane, but the Air Force F4 Phantom II and was a Vietnam era workhorse....and is the coolest in my book......tied for 1st place with the F-16 Falcon.

David Englehart

Thanks for the content, as always, Nutn. It's been a bit of a rough week & I'm looking forward to a little down time today & getting caught up vids. So much going on we even missed Spicy Friday (Johnny B) and Full Auto Friday (Kentucky Ballistics) yesterday (our own version of must see TV... lol). This sounds a little corny to say but I really do thank God for the info & wholesome entertainment that you and some other youtubers provide for us. 99% of what the networks churn out these days is garbage and pay TV and streaming platform originals are even worse. So once again, a heart felt thank you from the Englehart family (David, Norma, & baby Isaac)!

TacticalBunnyCA

Did you guys pull the magazine disconnect out of the gun?

Mike R

Whenever I see a HI Power I think of Beverly Hills Cop.

The Nutnfancy Project

Totally. I forgot it was used by Murphy. Researched the movie use and found that shot of him on the staircase.

Anotsu01

Always loved the Browning with the Hi-capacity magazines. First real gun I even handled at an army exhibition when I was 14. Always loved them knowing the SAS used them. Didn’t realise at the time it was the UK service pistol. The UK used it from the Second World War though those were Canadian manufactured Inglis I think? My mate was still using them during the second invasion of Iraq and after when pick up local POI post the invasion. Only got issued the SIG226 in Afghanistan. He said he preferred the Browning. We’ve now adopted the Glock 17 rightly as the service pistol. Oh the Browning was also in the excellent 80s film Stake Out. :)

The Nutnfancy Project

"... 99% of what the networks churn out these days is garbage and pay TV and streaming platform originals are even worse" Sorry to hear about your week Doc. You are absolutely correct about today's entertainment; such garbage all designed to gaslight us. I too dialed out of all of it. I happy to keep the show going here and we are firing on all cylinders. All the best to Norma and baby Isaac too.

TacticalBunnyCA

I’d love to see more surplus handgun vids! As some others have commented I can’t get enough. Makarov Webly p38 Luger pocket hammerless Peace Maker or a even a black powder Remington would all make for TNP classics!

Trey Koger

Totally spot on for the Sw-59. I bought mine for 250 at cabala's last year. I had to replace all the springs and clean it up but now its reliable and wears hogue wood grips. Im astounded at how much they go for on gun broker now. Mine is serialized as a 1975 production and was imported back into the country by century last year. Similar wear to that FEG PM9 but, but as a Police officer myself, knowing it spent so long in service with officers before me makes it a very cool gun to have in the collection.

David Gutshall

Another movie reference...I believe a Hi-Power was Indiana Jones back up gun in the original movie. He used it in the bar fight and was carrying it when he was sneaking around the ship toward the end of the movie.

Daniel Herb

awesome review! Gotta love the classics

Darrrn

Nice to hear to high power is on a come back. It was seaming like it’s was domed to collector prices. The gun didn’t deserve it. With used prices on the rise browning will bring it back if the demand sustains.

Tacticaldoodle

Hopefully. I'm kinda surprised they didn't work something out and license it to CZ or something. I get that it's a bit orphaned in their catalog as they move more towards hunting rifles. It's a shame, it's a great design for its age and it deserves a spot at the table for its contributions, especially with the older 1911 keeping itself going.

ChillTheNerd

I'm definitely looking forward to the review of that knife. I'd take a 3-4 min mini-review. haha.

Porter3861

My father in law told me years ago when I started collecting and shooting, "Never sell a gun. You'll regret it." But I had to learn the hard way. In 2000 I bought a Waffen stamped Hi-Power with matching numbers for $250. Little old lady's husband passed and she found it in a shoe box in the closet. My plan was to make it into a shooter. I had it reblued, new bbl put in, and was researching trigger jobs when kid #3 arrived. . . and I sold it. Ugh. I've been on the hunt for a proper hi-power ever since but, as you mentioned, the prices are just through the roof! Maybe I'll let my work buddies know I'd like one for my retirement gift. (We generally kitty in for guns when guys retire from our outfit.) So I really enjoyed your video, the I was kicking myself the whole time for selling that hi-power.

A Random Walk

Great vid, What is TDS watch at the range?

Phake A'Count

Real Hi-Powers don't have such great triggers either. Even with the disconnect safety ripped out, they're pretty heavy. Sold mine and kept my Beretta 92.

Robert W Posey

I work with a guy who has a Linthicum Custom FEG, featured in an issue of Combat Handguns, and it was such a great shooter. Put it against my built Isreali Police Begian produced Hipower, and they're so close in build quality, I was very impressed. Plus Linthicum could really build guns before he passed.
