RIA VRBP100 Shotgun

Greg Malcom

I bought a similar AR looking shotgun in 2013... Totally agree... Click bait gun... Ultra heavy and not very reliable. I'm going to sell it now since people will buy anything now in gun-apocalypse.

NatvMan

“Rant, Rant” always love when Nutn rants. SOGD(sedentary online gun debater) is one of my favorite rants Nutn has done. Keep the vids coming Nutn!

Jared Strawn

Any GRV is better than NO GRV

Trevor

VRBP = Very Rad Bull Pup ...... lol

Bernt Ryggs

Lol, I've been trying to get my 2 year old down for a nap. She curled up with me to watch this excellently timed GRV and was out like a light! Nutn's voice and the sound of gunfire is apparently very calming for her

Lon N

TYVM , lord knows I have been tempted... Magazine fed auto loading bullpup 12 - what's to not like? Then the skeptical old dude chimes in with a bitter "Charles Daily" 20 gauge pump with a broken cast mystery metal bolt memory. I still wanna believe... "she ain't pretty, she just looks that way...."

Connor Murphy

I'm getting flashbacks to the UTS-15 review circa 2012! I love rants and negative reviews. Just so entertaining. Thanks Nutn.

David Gaines

I know you feel like it’s not worthwhile but could you do a political call to action for Nov 3? I always enjoy those videos and any little bit to motivate the 2A community helps! We can’t let the radical left destroy the constitution.

Shawn Kuse

I will stick with my Remington 870. Yeah these look cool, but not NutnFancy proof!

Matthew Sinn

I spotted a KS7 review tease... looking forward to it.

Chris Kales

Thanks Nutn! You saved me from making a dumb purchase. I love bullpups and have been looking for a good mag fed bullpup shotgun for quite a while. It was the RIA, the Panzer Arms BP12, or the IWI TS12 (really wanted a removable magazine so am not quite on board with the TS12 yet). Calling this gun "click bait" is exactly right! you know it's a waste of time, somehow you just can't pull yourself away.

@Nutnfancy- What is the best platform to join you, when you go live? Can you post a link to that channel?

Tacticaldoodle

Awww lucky. As tiring as it is you'll always miss those years when they're over.

Tacticaldoodle

I've heard from a few dudes that thing ended up squared away, but I still kinda doubt it. The overall design issues weren't changed, and despite the adverts in the states, I always see the Turkish semi guns as loopholes for a civilian populace that can't acquire centerfire. They want an AR, but they have to make due with this, designing from the ground up always has issues.

Tacticaldoodle

Nov. is kinda late already, honestly we've been saying anyone in the know should've seen the warning signs already. Bidens' firearms plan is insane, no online accessories, parts, NFA registration on any mag over ten rounds, etc.

Tacticaldoodle

I think the Tavor might be much more solid, I'd probably expect better performance than the rest of the pack out of the box at least. Maybe even a KSG over the long term, when you see some of the parts wear on them.

J Ram

lol, did you meant Variably Reliable Bull Poop brother? lol

J Ram

and the sweet gentle ringing of the steel......lol.

Trevor

Haha that may be a bit more accurate, I can just see them putting the word radical somewhere on this gun lol

Racing Psychosis

Just say no to bull-pups. Can't stand them. Yeesh that looks like a prime example of why I can't stand them. Name? Looks more like a Wambat. No times 10 is still NO.

Aaron Martin

Lol I thought it might just be an air soft gun until I saw that recoil.

Scout154

The VR80 is awesome. I have shot one, but dont own one yet. It has a very smooth recoil and is accurate for a shotgun.

charles Utz

I bought one of these shotguns off gunbroker.com. mine came with a different bolt and steel plate for the front. I ncluded was a different front stock that I put a vertical grip on. The sights are definitely shit. The sights cause me to have to put my face "over" the back of the gun resulting in a battered cheek. I ordered some pic risers and different sights. The gun does have too much felt recoil compared to my browning or beretta semi autos. I disassembled the gun and hand polished some of the internals and it will run wit no problems now. I personally like the charging handle. The magazines are a pain to load. The trigger is horrible but for what it is, doesn't bother me too much. My primary complaint is the sights. I'm thinking of building an offset red dot mount to keep my face from being too far over the back of the thing. With 3 inch shells it will punch ya under the cheek bone. Of course, my head is too big or the sights are too low so I don't run the adjustable plastic thing. I did get it to run even light loads now. If you want a mag fed bullpup shotgun and are willing to tinker and fix it, it may be worth it, otherwise don't buy one.

Max lewis

OMG can you review the IWI ts12! I gotta see what you think about it. Don’t have one yet...

JARMYSTRONG

There's a special place in Heaven for TNP Rant Videos. :)

Cali Carrier

Where do you get your model airplanes? Just found out I’m gonna be a recruiter. I’m gonna need some USAF swag.

Mike R

I can hear TD getting angry that another manufacturer didn’t spend a few bucks for Loctite.

Mike R

If you mean go live you mean the few times he does the live streams? You will get a email notification that you have associated with your Patreon account when he starts one.

Mike R

Thanks for review Nutn, I’ve seen the AK and several AR style looking 12g shotguns for $400-550. I hope you can do some reviews on those, but I’m thinking they’ll probably be about as good as this bull pup was. I always wanted a 12g upper that I could slap on a 308 AR lower, though all of the ones I knew of were unreliable or took special 12g shells. Hoping someone will make one that reliable that actually works with cheap standard 12g loads.

Mike R

Exactly if you want a bull-pup you must be British, I’m an American dammit I want a AR pattern rifle like God and Eugene Stoner intended!

Michael Applebee

That was a hilarious review Nutn, especially the "I'm exhausted" ending...you rock!

Devin O’Donnell

"Hokey" is the word for this and all RIA magazine-fed shotguns. Yet my friends and family keep buying them because it takes 9 round mags.

Daniel Herb

"Remember, suck less" sums up the RIA VRBP100........

Benson Huntley

Wow, that thing really does suck. It looks like a Storm Troop gun but sucks.

ChillTheNerd

I've yet to have good experience with a magazine fed shotgun. I don't think it really fits the POL of a shotgun, and SAWC is definitely violated if you're lugging those huge mags around. My POL for a tactical shotgun is breaching ops, and very-short-duration close-range fire superiority; likely indoors. If you have to reload in any of those, you're already wrong. My opinion only though.

Sheepdog

Nutn: "I don't know, call it the Snail 1000" LOL!!!

Sheepdog

What does POL mean?

ChillTheNerd

Philosophy of use. Or I suppose it could mean petroleum oil and lubricants, depending on your circles LOL

Sheepdog

My Mossberg 500 ZMB has an eight shot capacity and is 100% reliable. While I don't have the capability for a quick reload like a magazine fed shotgun, I can more easily top off if needed. I'll take the reliability and decent capacity over a magazine fed shotgun every time.

Tom Cairns

I could just feel the frustration in the inset footage. Any time I end up with a Jam-o-matic like that it takes a year off my life lol. Not sure if they're available in US because of your import laws, but if you're looking for a mag fed Turkish shotgun that I think doesn't suck check out the dagger sap 6. 6 round Maga fit in ar10/double ar15 pouches and are were pretty popular in Canada before tactical imports stopped bringing them in a couple years ago

The Nutnfancy Project

I do have another RIA in stock getting tested; I will let you know. After several of these crap guns I don't hold out much hope. And SAIGA shotguns that have been converted have run pretty bad here too; they always need a bunch of tuning for a specific load.

OpFor

I could be wrong, but it looks like swapping shoulders or shooting lefthanded in general would be really difficult. Imo, switching shoulders in CQB is pretty important, and that is a real issue with a 'combat' shotgun.

Mike R

Yeah I don’t have a lot of faith in one of them actually being good, but you never know sooner or later some engineer might make it work.

Gilbert Cuzdey Jr

My dad bought one of these after watching some other YouTube review. He's still going through the "break in" period. I'm sticking to my pawn shop find 1300 defender. Although, the 590a1 retro looks sick.

Michael B warner

I figured this gun would be a POS just from reading the video title lol. It's pretty hard to screw up a 12ga but apparently this company figured it out .

The Nutnfancy Project

Good one NatvMan, I got to remember to incorporate that acronym more into the show! Glad you like the rants, I do too.

Nancy Merrell-Robertson

I love your rants, @Nutnfancy. They're another opportunity to learn more and suck less.
